Great experience from start to finish! We have an 8ft. wide bay window that faces due west. Even though it's a double paned window, the amount of heat and glare coming from that window makes our living room unbearably warm and causes our air conditioner to run constantly in order to fight the heat. Did some research on Window Films and found Carolina Solar Control - a 3M certified installer. I made an online request for contact and our Sales Rep, Susan, called within a few hours to set up an appointment. Susan was extremely helpful and knowledgable! She did a great job of explaining the various products, answered all our questions, and made great recommendations. She left us with various samples so we could view the window with film at various times of day and this allowed us to take our time and make the perfect choice. Once our decision was made, we were quickly given a quote for the work and contacted by Bethany to set up an install appointment. She was extremely helpful in answering questions we had about how to prep for installation, etc. and got us all taken care of. Rick, their installer, showed on time and was very personable, professional, and did a fantastic job! We could immediately feel and see the heat and glare reduction from the film. (We chose the Affinity 30 line.) We're thrilled with our purchase and highly recommend Carolina Solar Control!

Carolina Solar Control has been a joy to work with. We first approached Susan about adding security film to the home we were in at the time, and felt bad for her when she measured and estimated that job only for us to buy a new home before having her do the work! Susan rolled with the change with no problem, though, and patiently measured and estimated our new house, along with answering all of our questions. Thus, I'm glad to say we finally got to use their services. As I've implied, Susan is a joy to work with, as is Bethany in the office. And the two installers who came out on the day of the job were professional, polite, efficient, and very neat and tidy. I would wholeheartedly recommend Carolina Solar for window film needs.

We decided that to make our porch more desireable in the summer months we needed to get shades for the afternoon sun. After the installation of the shades we realized that part of the solar radiation was from our skylights. After some research we found Carolina Solar ro come/consult/estimate/schedule and install solar film. We were very pleased with the entire process and our porch is now much more temperate.

Susan met with me and provided information which allowed me to make an informed decision. The two crew members who completed the installation were very professional and personable. They cleaned up everything and left the house spotless. I would definitely recommend them again. The price was a bit more than expected, but I believe I got a quality solution with warranty and this is something that I've learned over time is worth paying for.

We got a quote from two companies and Carolina Solar Control agreed to beat the other company's price. This was a particularly good deal because Carolina Solar Control can offer a 3M manufacturer's warranty whereas the competitor can only offer their own warranty (still good, but not backed by 3M). Susan came to our home and gave us samples and a written quote. She explained the film and the process. We have an old 1960's brick ranch with a very large picture window in the middle of the living room. We removed the old metal awning to allow more light into the room, but the sun shines right into that window in the afternoon and it makes half the house very hot. We did not want to "tint" the window - we wanted to let through as much light as possible while reducing the heat coming into the house. When we had insulation blown into our attic, the contractor mentioned the window film that this company provided as a good solution. Susan was great to work with and was patient with our questions. The only "complaint" I have is that we had to wait 3 weeks for the install. This is a minor issue as good companies are always going to be busy, and it's hard to complain much since they negotiated with us on the price. The installer was very professional, was polite but not "chatty" (a big plus!), and did an excellent job. Susan told us that most of their installers are also background checked by the federal government because of their need for security clearances to work on military installations and in government buildings. We are very pleased with the results. I don't know how much it will help with our power bill, but it makes the room more comfortable and that is what we wanted! The quality of light has not been diminished and no one would even know the film was there if we didn't tell them. It is a really odd sensation at first - you can stand in front of the window with the blazing sun and there's no heat radiating from the window! For folks who do want some tinting or are less stringent on their requirements, Carolina Solar does offer different options. The Prestige 70 is their "top of the line" consumer product and we are very happy with our choice.

Susan Burke initially met with me to discuss my needs and measure my windows. She promptly followed up with a quote and options. I then scheduled the install which went very well. I will certainly recommend this company to anyone in need of this service.

Carolina Solar Control was very professional throughout this whole process - from the first gentleman who answered my initial phone inquiry to Susan Burke who called and came out to give an estimate to Bethany Rudy who did the scheduling and follow up and to Larry who did the installation. The resulting film looks great as you cannot even see that it is there. It was a pleasure to have this company do this job.

I have used this service twice now and have been very pleased with the window tinting services. It has been long lasting without any problems and the company was prompt, professional and very easy to deal with. This lowers our energy bills and protects our hard wood floors.

Great experience all around. Susan came out to give the estimate and was pleasant and knowledgeable about the products. She left me with a couple of samples and a few days later I scheduled the installation. Jason came promptly when scheduled and did a great job installing the film and was efficient, cleaned up after himself, etc... So far we've had our window film in for a couple of weeks and we can see and feel the improvements. Our western facing windows were making our house unbearably hot and now the temps are under control as well as our glare issue has been completely eliminated. I would highly recommend looking into window film if you have rooms in your house where the glare or heat are causing issue - solar film has saved the day!

Work performed very efficiently and professionally.

Estimate process was easy and smooth. Susan explained several options and left samples to put on the windows for the weekend to test. She and Bethany were very responsive to my requests. Larry did the installation, and he was very friendly and worked quickly. The final product looks great. The project was not cheap, but I cannot compare to other similar products, since there aren't many choices for this quality window film. I would definitely recommend them.

Susan first met with us to select the appropriate film product. We wanted improved privacy as well as sun and heat blocking so there were options. Bethany jumped through a few hoops to come up with a date and time to accommodate us. A few days later we had 3M solar film in place which has dramatically improved our use of the breakfast area. And all just in time for 95-100 degree Carolina June! We had used Carolina Solar Solutions at are last house as well. Their film warranty is a real plus.

I think a lot of Carolina Solar Control and Susan Burke who has helped me film windows in the past. Susan is great at customer service. She patiently waited until we got the new house and were ready to install. Everyone was on time for the estimate, scheduling and install. Very professional with every customer contact.

Carolina Solar was very efficient and professional. The estimate process was quick and handled via email. The actual installation started exactly on time and finished early. The installers were courteous and did not leave much of a mess (some paint chips, etc.). The window film was installed without bubbles and immediately reduced the glare from outside sunlight.

The installer who did the work was obviously well trained as he was able to clearly explain what he was going to do, how it would work, what not to do to the film in the next 60 days, and the time needed after installation for the film to reach its final stage of application about two months out from the installation date. He was very open and honest about what we would see and how it would change over the next 60 days as the film settled onto the glass when finished. There were lots of windows and door panels to cover, he brought with him the correct film with the correct level of darkness (NV15) that we asked for, he was on time at our place, cleaned each glass area, cut film to fit each window size, used water to prepare the glass and the film to be laid on, used a squeegee to flatted the film to the glass, cut the extra film from the coverage once the film was in place, and cleaned up the water that had come from the squeegee process. It took about 4.5 hours from beginning to end and he worked fast, efficiently, and knew what he was doing. It was a lot of film to apply. The wife and I are very happy to have gotten this done and look forward to a more temperate sun room this coming summer.

Excellent service from start to finish. Very professional company. This is the second time we have used there service. The results of installing the film is astonishing. A noticeable reduction in glare and heat.

Susan came out on a Tuesday to measure the windows and we had the bid Wednesday which we accepted . We then recieved a call on Thursday that they had a cancelation and could do ours on Friday!!! Friday they came and worked nonstop for 2 -3 hours and did all the work except 1 window where they found a crack (which we reported to the builder who will fix it) All work done quickly, effeciently and correctly. Nice job at a fair price

Installer was punctual and very professional. there was no mess left behind and he was finished in a timely manner. Film is invisible but gives us an added sense of security, which is worth every penny.

I needed to have privacy in a large bathroom window that was at ground level, and also that looked out over the garbage receptacles. Carolina Solar did a great job before on window film on my garage doors for privacy, and I contacted them. The sales representative Susan is professional, and came by with a book full of designer films, and help me pick one that would still let in the light from outside but give me a blurry image and privacy. It turned out beautiful - out a finishing touch on my renovation of the master bathroom, and not I don[t have to have heavy curtains blocking out the window and the light. They did a professional job and I without any reservations, I would recommend Carolina Solar. They are what service and Angie's List is all about.

The installer was very professional and did a great job. After the installation, the view through the windows reminded me of polarized sun glasses. So glad we did this since we live in a lake home and were worried by excess heat and fading of interior carpet and furniture.

The film technician called before coming to make sure we were go with him coming a little bit early. He arrive and we walked through the project and reviewed what the saleslady had told us before. He prepared the storm door glass and the side panels for the front door. We were going to use the front door as a sample before also doing the other windows across the west side of the house. He install the film on the glass. We were surprised how transparent the 3M 70 Prestige film was even though it had color when loose. The technician clean up the work area and took his tools and supplies out to his truck before coming back to review the project with us and give us instructions on maintenance.

Outstanding. The first visit to inspect the job and develop a quote happened on time and took very little time. The installation was forecasted to take between 2 to 2 1/2 hours and it was completed within 2 hours. My home was left in an as clean condition as before. Very happy with the work.

The quote is $1,585.43 for the work. I thought that it was quite a bit, but then may be not, because I have 15 windows with the door they would be doing. She told me the quote was good for 60 days. She told me about Angie’s List and gave me the discount. The person was so efficient and I don’t have anything from them to fear. Her name was Susan Burke and she was very efficient and she gave me two quotes for two different films, and each time she added a quote up, she also mentioned the Angie’s List discount and said that I would get 10 percent off. She measured the windows to make sure she had the measurements and all that, and once we sat down and talked, this is the quote she came up with. She was late by 10 minutes but I can't hold that against anyone because of the traffic. They will doing the work soon for me.

Everything done as explained by sales rep. I was very pleased by the professionalism and the high quality of service. They exceeded my expectations.
