Description of Work: I recognize they were very busy around the time I called (which they mentioned), but they didn't return phone calls reliably, and didn't come out to give an estimate as promised, even after I called back and they said they'd be out on a specific day. I decided to go with another company on Angie's list that had the manpower to consider new customers. I really wanted to support this company given that it is linked to a support program, and hope I have the opportunity to support them in other ways in the future.

+ -1 moreInsist that the supervisor be present for the entire time of work. Don't expect high quality landscaping skills. Very good for simple stuff.
Description of Work: The company came and spread hardwood mulch in front, side and back yards. We have no grass so everything is mulched. They came when agreed upon and the job took less than one day as they brought a crew. This company is a rehab/training company so the workers are doing on-the-job training to become more employable. They need supervision and do not have good landscaping skills but can do simple jobs if given enough direction. You can't beat the price and we have used them for several years running for our much needs.

+ 0 moreCaramore is a not-for-profit organization providing transitional community residential and employment opportunities for people with mental illness. The landscaping crews are one of the employment skills training opportunities which may explain the low monthly cost (average $50-$75). Several neighbors use Caramore and after observing the work we hired them not even aware of the organization's actual purpose. We have been very satisfied with the results and are pleased to be contributing to a good cause whose success will benefit the community as a whole. We recommend Caramore.
Description of Work: We began using Caramore for lawn mowing, pruning, and other landscape maintenance services shortly after moving to Chapel Hill in summer 2009. In addition to lawn mowing and grass and leaf blowing, the crew provides any other landscape related services we have requested. For example, they removed invasive English ivy that had been allowed to cover a beautiful Chapel Hill stone wall, engulf azalea beds, and chock magnificent trees. The services are provided on an alternating weekly basis. A slight negative is that they are not always here when we expect them and homeowner direction/supervision is required on services beyond lawn mowing/blowing.

+ -1 moreI needed help tidying my yard after winter - very unsophisticated work: weeding, removing dead clumps of grass, getting leaves out of shrubbery, picking up fallen sticks and branches, trimming deadwood from bushes, etc. What I needed was several cheerful helping hands - and I got them! John at Caramore & I played it by ear until we had a dry day when I could be home from work for the morning, and he and his crew showed up on time. With a half dozen willing workers, my front and side yard were tidied in no time, and the cost was extremely reasonable. I will certainly call them again!

+ -1 moreWE'VE USED THEM FOR MORE THAN TEN YEARS. THE MANAGER IS GREAT. THE PEOPLE HE HIRES ARE MENTALLY CHALLENGED, BUT THEY DO A GREAT JOB AND THEY DO IT QUICKLY. THEIR REASONABLE PRICES ARE AMAZING. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM.
