Shade and Shutter expo provides design, measuring and installation for blinds, shades, plantation shutters and bahama shutters, awnings ,hurricane protection and solar /porch shades. Additional email - julie@shadeandshutterexpo.com. Additional contact name - Julie Fergus.
"I strongly recommend you look for your shades or blinds elsewhere. Shade and Shutter Expo does not honor their guarantee or stand behind their product or workmanship. We were looking for room-darkening remote shades for our house, beginning with the MBRM windows. We priced a couple of other places and decided to go with them even though they were a little more expensive than our other quotes. We chose this because of the guarantee they offered during the sales pitch which I felt put them a little above the rest. We were just a little underwhelmed by the quality of the shades for the high price we paid for them. I was expecting more of a textured finish. But that aside, our real problem came after installation. To make a long story short, they measured/cut the shades too narrow. I complained several times over the next 6 months, starting on the very day they were installed. Way too much light was coming in on the sides (especially when you consider how much extra we paid for room-darkening). They said it’s because they had to cut them short because of a door handle on 1 of the 5 windows. First of all, there was still room to have allowed more fabric on that window…..and the other 4 windows had NO handle to work around, so that excuse fell short. I tried to get use to them. I called back a few months later in tears of frustration that my sleep was being interrupted at daybreak every single day. They came out and looked, then said they’d go back and talk to the boss and get back to me. I never heard from them again. So for TWO YEARS NOW, I lie there’d every morning in frustration as the sun comes through and wakes me up. I have to pull the covers up over my head, which usually makes me feel like I’m suffocating. So then I try building a “wall” of pillows on either side of my head to block the light and try to get back to sleep. I can’t begin to imagine how many hours of sleep I have lost over the past two years. I curse their name every morning of my life as I fight this battle, as well as every time I see their commercial or drive by their store. So DO NOT believe the promises during their sales pitch, or count on service-after-the-sale. We planned to have all the windows on the back side of our house done…..but I assure you it will be by someone other than them."

Locally owned & operated. Additional phone - (843) 466-2121.
"Excellent service, prompt, professional and honest. My garage door motor went bad and even though it was an old and obsolete motor, A&A replaced it in about 20 minutes, verified the old warranty and did the work without charge. They did the original installation many years ago and did an excellent job. It was refreshing to see that the company remains friendly, professional and honest ! I highly recommend!"

Garage door repairs cost $260 on average but can range anywhere from $80 to $675. Factors such as the type of repair needed, the style of your garage door, and the material your door is made of all play a part in the final price tag.
For example, wood garage doors look beautiful but are prone to dents, splitting, and cracks that are difficult to fix. You can expect to spend an average of $200 to $300 to repair your wooden garage door. Fiberglass garage doors are more durable and less expensive to fix, averaging around $100 to $200.
The cost of replacing garage door panels is around $1,200 for the average homeowner. However, depending on a few factors, you could pay as little as $250 or as much as $3,000 or more. Considerations like panel style and the type of garage door you have all factor into what you pay.
While sectional garage doors are common among homeowners, they are often the most expensive to replace, averaging around $700 to $2,400. Tilt-up garage doors, which are the simplest door available, range from $400 to $1,400.
Annual to biannual routine garage door maintenance is vital to extending its life as much as possible. Most importantly, noticing any unusual sounds or movements and taking care of them as soon as possible is one of the best ways to maintain your garage door. Keeping the tracks clear of dirt and debris and lubricating the rollers and other moving parts twice a year will also help to get the most out of your door.
Even though garage doors can last 15 to 30 years, it’s important to recognize the signs of wear and tear or other damage that might cause the need for a repair or replacement. A big sign that your garage door needs repair or replacement is the door not opening and closing correctly, including moving slower than usual. Also, if you notice that your garage door is becoming warped or overly weathered, it’s time to call a professional to discuss your options and tips for buying a new garage door.
Garage doors generally last between 15 to 30 years, depending on many factors. Your location plays an essential role in your garage door’s lifespan—doors exposed to harsh elements like heavy rain or intense heat might not last as long as those installed in a milder climate. How often you use your garage door also factors into its overall lifespan. Generally, standard garage door springs can withstand 20,000 cycles, whereas tension springs typically last between 5,000 and 10,000.
