Connie seemed a lovely woman, who was punctual and pleasant...she even left several messages the day of the estimate to update me regarding her health and a possible cancellation. We walked through the house and discussed what would be done. She arrived the day of the cleaning, and reportedly spent three hours at the house. The results were fair. And mildly DESTRUCTIVE--she broke a vase--yes, yes, of course accidents happen but she did not leave this broken item behind, nor did she tell us about it until the following day. She offered to replace and/or reimburse us but that wasn't the point...although the item was inexpensive, we should have been informed of this as soon as it happened.
The house was not thoroughly cleaned. Although we'd used cleaning services when we lived up north, we've never had cleaners NOT dust the master bedroom. Nor were we informed that this is apparently Seamaids policy--she does NOT move items on dressers in bedrooms [especially around costume and inexpensive jewelry]. When I later asked her about this [we thought she had just forgotten to dust this room], she offered to come back and clean it. We did not take her up on this offer and made sure she understood that we expected this room to be dusted as part of her cleaning. We were still ready to use her next month.
But then it became evident that she also did not mop any of the bathroom floors. Again, she had not explained that vacuuming and using a Swiffer was apparently how she cleaned these floors, and we had just logically assumed that these floors would be mopped. It took her three days, and three texts from me, before finally getting a response. And she became defensive, though she did offer to return to the house and fix anything we were unhappy with. Now she has the right to clean a house any way she wants to, but seems to us that she has the obligation [as she's walking through each room to provide an estimate] to inform that if she is not going to wash bathroom floors or dust any surfaces in bedrooms. We should not be figuring this out after the fact.
Bottom line is SHE SHOULD BE INFORMING HER CUSTOMERS of what her customers would consider 'typical things' that she does not clean or do. But then again, she shared that most of her work is in rental properties. Given the weekly change in tenants, they probably cannot tell that bathroom floors have not actually been washed nor would there be many/any items to avoid on bedroom dressers.
We will not be using her again. But we do now have a better list of specific questions to ask of the next service provider.

Connie arrived on time on the scheduled date and brought one person with her to help. Both Connie and her helper were professional and a pleasure to work with. I was thoroughly pleased with the results of their work. Everyting was gleaming and the house smelled wonderful! I would highly reccomend Seamaids to anyone looking for an outstanding cleaning service.

Connie, the owner, came a week before the work was to be performed and gave me an estimate to clean the house from top to bottom. We scheduled for the following Wednesday. Since I have previous health problems, it was very important to remove the nicotene and tobacco from every surface of the home. Not only was Connie thorough, if she wasn't happy with how something turned out, she did it again. I do have to say that I was surprised to come over while she was here and see her using a toothbrush to clean the dishwasher - talk about thorough!!! A job that we originally thought would take one day, ended up taking 3 days, and a total of 12 hours - and she didn't want to waiver from her original quote.

Connie is just great. She is very personable and a hard worker (which appeals to me because I am also a hard worker!). She offers to do any inside and even outside work. Right now I have her come to my home every week for two and a half hours. In this time she gets the place spotless and I am always very appreciative. Connie is very open to communication so I feel very comfortable talking to her about what I want her to clean each week. She is super and I recommend her highly.
