+ -1 moreHe's probably the most competent grader around. He knows what he is doing. He's excellent. He's able to find out what my problem was, I had a drainage problem, and he knew exactly what to do. He had to schedule me because he's got work, but he stuck right to his schedule. He did the work in 3 or 4 days like he said he would. He's a laid back, relaxed, easy going guy but he's good. I've used him for other work too.
Description of Work: For the driveway I used The Rock Man.

+ 1 moreI am extremely pleased with Tim's work. He did what was agreed to and did excellent quality work. They kept the yard clean and hauled of all the debris and damaged wood. Tim is recognized as one of the best rock masons in Western NC and he does beautiful rockwork. Since he is so well respected, and in such demand, it took several weeks to get the job scheduled. It was well worth the wait. I give Tim the highest rating possible and definitely recommend him and his crew.
Description of Work: Tim Burris, the Rock Man, did an outstanding job of repairing my chimney. Due to improper flashing when the house was built in 1978, I had experienced leaks (in my living room) around the chimney for years. I tried sealing the chimney myself but had limited success. Since Tim's work was done I have had no more problems. We've had several very heavy rainstorms and no more leaks! I obtained two bids from very reputable and highly recommended rock masons. Tim Burris's fixed cost bid was $3,200 and included materials (mortar and sand). The other mason would not agree to a fixed price and would only work on an hourly basis; his low end “rough estimate” was $6,000 plus materials. The only way to stop the chimney/roof leak was to remove all the rock from the chimney above the roofline and then properly flash the chimney. Once the chimney block work was properly flashed we sealed the concrete blocks with two coats of Thoroseal, mixed with the bonding agent Acryl 60, and then replaced the rock. Due to the 30 plus years of leaks, two rafters and some roof sheathing had to be replaced. The flashing, structural repairs and sheathing replacement were done by a carpenter Tim Burris recommended. His work was also excellent and the price was fair. We had to deal with snow, some very cold weather and rain. Tim and the carpenter coordinated their work so there were no delays except those caused by the weather. The entire job took about two weeks.

+ 0 moreThe Rock Man crew arrived on time every single day. They were friendly and worked hard. They found a different place to dumb the sand when I asked them to. They began dumping their empty water bottles in a bin when I asked them to, instead of pitching them into the rock wall.
Description of Work: Price was very good. His crew built a 70 foot double rock wall and 2 walkways in front of our house. Each stone was laid carefully and it looks great. Everyone compliments it when they see it.
