It was fine. They took the carpet with them. It was a hardwood floor and the carpet was on the hardwood floor. They did a good job. It was paid for by my insurance company. They were here when they said they would be. They did exactly what they said they would do. They came in, said the leak was in a certain place and that they had to tear up a certain section of the floor. They said they had to redo it, refinish it and they did that; it was fine.

No one called to schedule service, so I called another provider who set up an immediate appointment.

Did a very nice job on the carpet, but dragged the ribbed hose around corners without protecting the baseboards and door casings, so I now need paint touchup. Update 9/12/2014 After seeing this review Servicemaster contacted me and subsequently touched up the woodwork. I had reported the date incorrectly which was the reason they responded that they had not performed this service. The owner says that his trucks carry corner protectors, however, no corner protectors were used at my house. THIS REVIEW BELONGS UNDER CARPET CLEANING, not smoke and water damage. I have updated my overall rating from C to B and will consider using them again. I was impressed by their diligence and professionalism in making this right, especially since I had not complained directly to them and submitted a review much later in response to an Angie's List request for reviews on this company.. Had the technician used the corner protectors, Servicemaster would have straight As from me.

The attitude was aloof and not helpful. The response was not professional at all. Did not use them from the initial response.

They did an excellent job in a timely manner. They also worked well with the insurance company.

The quote they gave was way too high. I got someone to do the same job for under $4,000 when they quoted $12-18,000.

Some stress that the truck would not function as the battery was challenged that day yet they came through ! They arrived and were able to complete the job perfectly . Despite the late arrival they most definitely had the passion to get the job done. ( and they did!) They worked with me on pricing and schedulingand I was very grateful to be scheduled despite the many challenges they had that day. They rock !

Did not do what he said he would by giving me an estimate for sewage clean up.

They were great. I would give them the highest possible recommendation. They are really very good. They communicated with me very closely and responded very quickly. It was kind of an emergency situation with flooding and they responded to the emergency part of the situation and followed through by arranging the restoration process and new carpeting put in. They just partnered with me the whole way from start to finish and it was a month long process. They were all wonderful, especially Chad.

The work was done quickly with minimal inconvenience to family living there.

They worked diligently for days, cleaning, tearing out, moving furniture, etc. True professionals in a tough situation. Damage was extensive and took a month to repair, walls, flooring, etc. The team and their subs were wonderful, we did absolutely nothing, except pick out carpet and paint. Service Master handled everything, we could not be more pleased with a company. Many days they worked while we were away, we never hesitated to leave our door open for them. We can't begin to tell you what a relief it was to have this company take care of us. The work is finished and looks absolutely GREAT! Please do not hesitate to call them for any job! *Insurance covered loss**

They did a very good job and were trustworthy. They kept area very clean and showed up on time. Cost was covered by insurance.
