He's come out a couple of times, but most of the time when he comes out he doesn't do anything. He'll look around, talk a bit, then leave.

This is not the first time we have been moved to report on this service provider. But his work is so exceptional that we truly believe it deserves further attention. Proprietor Jason Simpson provides a level of high customer satisfaction we've never before encountered. His knowledge of construction fundamentals is unsurpassed. He has an excellent eye for detecting maintenance issues that others are likely to overlook. His commitment to excellence in work performance is beyond improvement. Our home is currently for sale and we have already scheduled Jason for a number of important restoration projects at our new location.

Jason personally spoke with me about all the details of the job, including the cost, amount of time to complete the job, supplies needed, and etc. The job performed was putting ceramic tile flooring in my kitchen, and two bathrooms. The job was performed just how Jason had discussed it with me. He was very polite and professional. He went the extra mile to make it perfect, and to my liking. The tiling of my floor turned out beautiful. I was very happy with his work, and would definitely use him again. He also hauled off some old furniture that I had in my yard after he finished the job as a courtesy. I have used Jason in the past to put on my roof, and he also did an excellent job. He even put matching shingles on my well, so it would match my new roof. He is also very trustworthy, because I had to leave him alone in my house on several times. This goes a long way to say how good his character is... I would definitely recommend him.

Service was arranged on 10/21/13 for 10/24/2013 at 9.00 AM. Unfortunately, Jason did not show up, nor did he call. I called him several times using the given telephone number 828 209-7455, but recording stated that the number doesn't exist. No response to e-mail either. I had to move large number of items to prepare for this job, my house is in disarray and now I have to find some other provider soon. Not very happy about this situation.

Jason and his workers were at the house multiple visits to accomplish all the above work. Jason is very knowledgeable in many areas plus efficient and effective in his work. He is respectful to the homeowner and my desires ( esp hanging picture placements). Scheduling was an issue for us as Jason has gotten busier. He did provide me a discount for the final visit as it took him longer than anticipated to return to complete the tasks.

They talk the talk but could not walk the walk. I had to reschedule 4 times because they never showed up for the scheduled appointments nor did they ever give me a courtesy call to inform me ahead of time they would not be arriving so I wasted my time waiting on them to arrive. They came up with excuse after excuse for the no call no shows, they are terrible at responding to me and communication all together. They came out to do the work and the craftsmanship from afar looks good, but up close it looks terrible. I am very unimpressed or satisfied with their overall performance and their clean up was not thorough as I had to pick up cigarette butts from my property after they left. Also, I asked for an itemized list or receipt and never received it. They took the carpet off of my stairs and where it goes into the hall. It is the same carpet that is in several different areas of my house. I told them that I didn't want it to look bad. These other contractors were more professional and the labor would have been much cheaper. They originally said that the work could have been finished for the cost of my big deal plus another half of a day (which they assured would be less than the $299 that I was spending), but they took three days and it's still not done. All the while, I'm still being charged. He also put a screen door at the top of the stairs, which is what I wanted. The bathroom is on the other side of the stairs and I was afraid that I may fall in the middle of the night. The screen door looks like it has been stretched out in the corner. They put plywood in for a countertop and it's incredibly crooked. One side of the counter is between a quarter and a half an inch higher than the other side. The work that they did would be great if I lived in a barn, but I don't. I feel like my living space is unsuitable and low rent. They did half***ed job. I recently discover that they hooked up the kitchen sink backwards. The hot is cold and the cold is the hot.

He was to pressure wash all decks, stair, and handrails for $320. He was to remove the steps on the side of the house and build new steps to code for $250. He was to apply premium wood sealer to all decks, stairs, and handrail surfaces for $350. Above labor = $920, Materials $445, total $1365. The shingle job for labor and material was to be $1345. He was given a check on 3/27/13 for $445 and $450, which equals $895. On 4/11/13 he was given a check for $1000 for the shingle job. He never showed up on time or on the appointed day. He said he was going to build the 4 stairs to code and 1 step he built was 11 inches high, DEFINITELY NOT TO CODE, which required $ remediation by someone else. He was to power-wash the deck and he left mold and algae and stained areas all over and his help ripped up the wood on the railings and posts. He said he sealed the deck, but the water soaks right in and it is raw wood. When a deck is sealed, the water is supposed to bead up and roll off. We asked for the receipts for the materials used on this job and he refused to give even a copy of the receipts. We are having someone else come in and do the work properly. His repair to the soffit left unsanded putty there, which was never painted as it was never finished. He was going to roof over 2 skylights but could not find the matching shingles anywhere except by driving to Charlotte, a 2-hour drive one way. He said he would need $1000 to start that job. Once he has the money, he will not return your phone calls, but he will email you with the following: "We will be there shortly." No show. "The rental company won't rent the washer in the rain" No show. "There is a chlorine residue that will be cleaned off today and the overhang sanded and painted" Never done. "I apologize and say I have found myself really busy. I have learned reliable help is very difficult . ...more than unprofessional on my part. I apologize. There has been more than one misunderstanding. I will be there ..to clear it up." No show. "I'm in GA for my grandfather's funeral." "I'm sick as all get out." We asked him to refund the $1000 for the shingle job that was cancelled. We also asked him to refund the money for the stairs not built to code and the deck that is still not clean or sealed, and he said, "Take me to court." He also has ignored a demand letter from an attorney. He talks a nice talk wanting the job, but he has a problem with actually doing the work according to code and in a professional manner. Needless to say, this is someone you cannot trust and needs to be under the supervision of a seasoned pro who has a good reputation or you can spend your day and time and money with the legal process.

Project was finished in the time allotted but some small areas were missed when painted.

JLC was a very impressive company. Jason came over himself. He was very professional, courteous, a very nice, easygoing person that you could talk to. We went over everything, the estimate, choices, colors. Workers were always on time. The work was done beautifully. He followed up and made sure that I was satified with everything. He went the extra mile. He put shingles on my wishing well for free to make it match the house. The timing on everything was perfect. Everything was really high quality. He didn't skimp on anything. Anytime I called him he would call me right back. He was very responsive. I am so impressed with his service. I would highly recommend this service to everyone.

I initially hired Jason based on reviews and the fact that he had a special offer of 2 hrs of work for $79. I had a couple of windows that needed to be replaced and figured that would cover it. I also asked Jason to give me an estimate on putting in some fill dirt and mulch as I was trying to prep the house to sell. Jason bent over backwards to meet and give me the estimate. He had to meet with a friend as I live out of town. Jason not only gave me an estimate for the work I requested, he looked over the entire house. He provided a list of things that would likely come up on a home inspection to include a serious structural issue with the front deck. His estimate was extremely fair and I agreed to have him do all the work. The day the workers went out to start, they discovered the part of the large retaining wall had collapsed. Jason called me to let me know the situation was dire and if things were not shored up more of the wall would give way and the house could become structurally unsound (more heavy rains expected that evening and the next day). He gave me advice on what needed to be done and called later with what I know was a bare bones estimate on repairing the wall. Jason and his crew not only fixed the wall, they handled everything on the original work order as well. I even text Jason with oh could you do this too and received a response back already done. I cannot say enough positive things about the quality of work, the professionalism, knowledge, and skill exhibited. Don’t bother calling anyone else as you can be assured his estimate will be very fair and accurate and the job will be done right. If I need anything else done to this house I will give him a call..…I just wish I could have him do some work on my house in PA. I highly recommend Jason and his crew!!!

Jason called and said he had gotten in a wreck and so we rescheduled for two days later. On that day, he called at the time he was supposed to be at my house and said he was stuck in traffic and would be about 10 minutes late. He arrived 30 minutes late and mentioned something about Riceville Road (opposite direction of my house). He is young, but he seemed nice enough and confident in what we discussed, which also included some landscaping work I needed done. He left saying I would have a proposal within a week. It has now been almost two weeks and I haven't heard a peep. I would have been willing to take a risk on someone cutting their teeth, but at this point my overall impression is that Jason is unprofessional and unable to keep his word.

Jason was very willing to give us free estimates. We will use him for another house.

He arrived about 25 minutes late, did the job in 20 min. and wanted to charge me a whole hour for it. I had to say that he was 25 minutes late and the service lasted only 20 min. So I should have 40 min. credit. As I needed to put a number on the outside of the house I told him he could come the next day to place it, he agreed. I asked him what would be the value of the plate and he said about $10.00. I paid the $40.00 his hour plus $10,00 for the sign. I talked with my tenant that the guy would return the next day. Two months after this, the tenant said that the guy did not come back. This was about three weeks ago I sent a text message asking what had happened, he said he had forgotten and he would put it in the next day without fail. Until now....Nothing. I had to buy the sign and install by myself today. it is not about the money, but the trust.

Jason was here to do some handyman work and I asked him to look at the side door to the garage that had some rotting and mold in the door frame. We agreed that the work needed to be done and he suggested I go to Lowe's to pick out a door to meet the requirements of the job. I bought a door and scheduled a day for Jason to pick it up at Lowe's and do the installation. Jason was great in letting me know when he would arrive - and he got here with the door on time. He did a really great job with the installation including moving the door knob and dead bolt - He has to come back to paint the trim as the temps were too cold the day he was here. His work solved a problem with water getting in the garage with heavy rains that caused some of the rotting. I am very happy with his work and will definitely call him again when the need comes up. He is very courteous and professional in his work.

excellent - very happy with his response to my request and to the service provided - I have contracted with him to replace the side door to my garage that had rotted trim and was leaking into the garage. He is very professional and efficient - I would recommend him to anyone. - I found him through an Angile's list Handyman deal - I am very satisfied with his work.

I would recommend and will use his services again. He even fixed my closet doors and refused to charge me for it. He is a good honest guy.

Overall good ,did not have tools necessary to complete a request

Jason completed both tasks easily despite the usual "issues" that come from working in an older house which make a repair challenging. He also met me at the store to help me to pick out the appropriate size door and carried it to my house in his truck. He told me ahead of time that the projects would take longer than the 2 hours I had purchased but he also agreed to extend the Angies list rate for the completion on my tasks.

Recently established independent company principal, Jason Simpson, we discovered when he was participating on a subcontracting team in the construction of a sunroom addition to our home. The work he and his co-worker performed was of exceptionally high quality.
