her yard was in really bad shape because all down spouts was not working correct, the grade was wrong and water standing in the yard! I was higher than the other contractors on price on this project because this was not a quick fix! The other bids she received was cheap methods and they did not focus on what would fix overall issues they was having and the methodsother contractors presented would not have worked at all because of the cheap and shortcut methods! When I meet a customer I do not focus on trying to do things cheap, I focus on fixing the issues and coming up with solutions that will work and be a lasting investment! Sometimes like in this case I may be higher in price, But I do my best to do what is best for the customer so they can be confident it is done right! We installed new downspouts, grates thru out yard placed in strategic areas, engineered French drains, as well as foundation drains! it was a task and took about 2 weeks to complete everything. She was a real pleasure to work for, even bought me and my dad lunch during the day. Thank you and I look forward to working with you in the future

This is the the third time we've used David since spring of 2013 and he does such a great job. We live about 2 hours away from the property, so it's comforting to have a contractor we can rely on. He always gets back to me within one business day, often the same day. For this particular job I contacted him on a Saturday and he came out the next day to inspect the road condition so he could work up a quote, which we received later that same evening. Sometimes the weather is not cooperative to get the job done when originally planned, but David always keeps me updated on the status and is willing to be flexible if we have guests staying at the property.
Description of Work: David scraped the steep gravel driveway (approx 2/10 mile long) of our vacation rental home and an additional dirt road 2/10 mile long leading to our driveway, along with hauling in 5 loads of road bond to fill in eroded areas.

This driveway needed to be refurbished because of the winter snow/rains. I did not want to disturb renters so we worked very hard that day to get finished in one day! in bad areas we applied road bond and scraped rest of road. She is very easy to work for and I appreciate the repeat business. Thank you

I contacted David Gibson on March 12 and he came out that afternoon to give me an estimate. The project was delayed twice because of weather, but both times, he contacted me quickly to reschedule. When the weather did allow, he came out exactly when he said he would and did an extremely thorough and professional job. The problem turned out to be more extensive than anticipated--the original culvert was actually constructed out of 55 gallon oil drums rather than pipe. David discussed options with me, and we decided that it would be best to replace the entire culvert (which runs the length of the property) ASAP with the heavy duty plastic triple-wall culvert that he used on the first section rather than allow the other sections to rust out. We are planning to have the rest of the culvert, replaced in mid-May and David is passing along the discount that he received from the vendor for buying more than three sections of culvert. It's never good to discover that your problem is worse than you anticipated, but I am very glad to have Gibson Grading working on it. I would recommend them very highly to anyone.
Description of Work: Replaced a section of old, rusted-out culvert that had collapsed with a new 18 inch triple wall culvert, hauled away the debris, and refilled and reseeded the hole.

David orginally estimated this to be a two-day job but due to short lines at the gravel quarry, he and his dad were able to complete the job in a day. The driveway and front pull-in area look great, very neat and nicely crunchy underfoot. David is very professional, hardworking and has great attention to detail. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again, and highly recommend his work.
Description of Work: My brother had used David to re-gravel a private road up to his home, based on Angie's List reviews, so when I needed my driveway and a front pull-in area re-graveled, I went with my brother's and Angie's recommendation, and called David. He returned my call promptly (same day), and came out within several days to look at the job and provide an estimate. He was able to start and complete the job the following week, which included adding gravel to my (approx) 125 foot driveway, adding an additional gravel parking space alongside the existing driveway, re-grading the entrance to to the driveway and re-graveling an (approx) 80 foot pull-in space in front of the house. He had to remove a layer of topsoil for the new parking space and put down crusher run before putting down gravel, and was able to deliver the dirt to the foot of one of my flower beds for future gardening use by me. He also moved one of my big garden bed rocks that I wasn't able to handle myself.

I enjoyed working with The customer on this project, The driveway needed a refurbish and needed a larger back up area for turning around vehicle! in that spot there was a garden so I moved dirt out and applied road bond for base then refurbished rest of driveway with 3/4 wash stone. We was lucky because weather was perfect and the quarry was not busy so we was able to wrap up in one day. Thank you for allowing us to work on project

David is a very professional and personable contractor who takes pride in his work and understands the value of good communication. He came out to look at what needed doing and provided me with a quote. He was able to do the job straight away and completed it in the timeframe he said he would even though there were a couple of poor weather days. David is very knowledgeable and pointed out a couple of areas where the builder of my house had taken shortcuts. I anticipate David returning to take care of the issues the builder left behind and helping me with any future work I need doing.

The road above entrance of house was pitched toward house and well causing water issues at house! Also grade in front and beside house was not correct as well as no downspout drain pipes to channel water away from house thus causing water to hit foundation causing issues! in front we installed a drain pipe, dug out ditch and filled with river rock to catch water from road! then on both side of house installed foundation drains and gutter down spout drains to channel water away. On right front of house we installed a French drain with small catch basin also to help in total water control! The project went well! [member name removed] was very busy so I made sure to give her daily reports as well as pictures of progress! Thank you for allowing us to work on your project! In every aspect of the job; from the initial site inspection to final completion of the project, David was simply "outstanding". His price was very fair, he began the job on time, he finished within the time-line provided and All of his work was done in an outstanding manner. In short- I would highly recommend David.
Description of Work: David installed a large catch basin to eliminate a drainage/erosion problem-- off one of our roads within our Homeowner's Development. Essentially, at the bottom of a very steep hill there was a tremendous amount of water that would spill over the embankment and had created a very severe erosion issue. To resolve the issue, I called what I determined to be the very best contractor in Western Carolina. I called David Gibson ( Gibson's Grading and Construction ).

Two days before Christmas we awoke at 2AM to find our basement level, which is all finished living space, being flooded by water seeping in from where the wall and floor meet. Due to the excessive amount of rain we had the previous day (nearly 4" in 24 hours), the water continued to enter our house for the next 14 hours or so. After the water stopped, and we had ServPro work on drying out the waterlogged areas, we began to call around for someone who could fix our problem. After calling several contractors, David was the only one who agreed to come and examine our problem without having to wait 9-14 days. He was prompt and courteous, and was able to tell what our problem was immediately. We agreed to hire David to begin work on Jan 6, with an estimated time for the job taking 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. David arrived on the first day, and began the process of killing and cleaning the mold from our downstairs. He was extremely thorough, including testing for other hazardous substances as he worked. He was very concerned for our health and well-being. We are very appreciative of his approach to his costumers, and he helped set our minds at ease. as he completed each day's work David sent us a progress report on what he had done that day, keeping us informed and apprised of the situation. The mold remediation took approximately three days, but even after he was done David checked in each day to see how the situation was coming along. Next came fixing the drainage in our yard. David took care of it very professionally, grading and installing new drains where needed. He also replaced some faulty gutter drains that had been previously installed. David was also very helpful with any questions and concerns we had, and helped us determine what areas to keep an eye on to prevent future problems. All of this was accomplished within the time frame David initially gave us. We would definitely hire David Gibson again. He was professional, prompt, made himself available for questions and concerns we had, and he was genuinely concerned with our situation and helping us sort it out. We were very pleased with the experience.
Description of Work: Installed French drains in yard, replaced faulty gutter drains, unclogged catch basin drain, regraded yard to facilitate proper drainage, mold remediation in basement, placed sealant in basement, removed old tile from section of basement floor, and hauled off dirt, old carpet, and trash from our home.

This project was pretty bad in the basement! the mold/mildew was so bad that in order to be in the room a respirator had to be worn! as a certified mold contractor I quarantined basement until all removal a had been completed! This was at a dangerous health level! this took 4 days to remove and get everything normal. I was very concerned for there health and being exposed to dangerous levels of mold spores/pacs! Once this phase was completed I installed a engineered drain system and regrade to ensure positive drainage! [removed member name] was very easy to work with and made it easy for us to do our job in fixing these issues. Thank you and I look forward to working with you on future projects

We called David and he came out promptly with a free estimate of work to be done. We needed waterproofing of our 2 car/tandem garage (with special 2 coats of paint & 1 coat of acrylic), mold removed from 2 walls & floor, french/engineered drains to surround the house, correction of 4 downspouts, water drain tubes from spouts to road and flashings installed on the roof to correct water flow. Grass seed and straw were laid where the earth was disturbed. The quote was $8,500. Because of constant rain his starting was delayed. Once he started, he wasted no time in completing the task. David was thorough, very professional & a delight. It rained the day after he finished. We got 3" and we were dry for the first time in 10 years! We are thankful to the Angie's reviews of David Gibson, but mostly thankful to David for solving this major problem.

there was alot of areas that was causing these issues. The ineratior block had no coating to protect plus the outside did not have any drains or a place to water to go except to the foundation. The gutter drains in 2 corners was not functioning plus water shed off roof was also adding to issues. In basement i fixed holes plus removed mold and applied foundation coating, then we move to outside and installed drains, plus minor regrading on side of house and installed a channel on roof to direct water to gutters! [removed members name] And [removed members name] was a pleasure to work for and made the access to basment and outside easy fro me to complete project, I really enjoyed working for them and i look forward to working on other projects they have planned in future! David thought about our problems, made some great suggestions, and was able to do the work in a month. We were pleased with his great ideas, professional manner, and work ethic. We've only had intermittent rain since the work was completed, but have no doubt that our water problems are probably solved. We would be delighted to work with him again in the future. Another great recommendation from Angie's List!
Description of Work: We had longstanding water problems in a small crawlspace and yard that worsened this year with all of the summer rains. We had someone come to clean out drains from gutters and also had our foundation man look at the problem. He seemed uninterested and made no useful suggestions. We called David Gibson based his reviews on Angie's list. David gave the problem some thought and made great suggestions. First, he repaired the defect in our foundation and sealed the crawlspace. Then he replaced all water lines from our gutters and placed french drains in the problem areas of the yard.

This job required a lot of trench digging and also grading. David provided all of the culverts, drain pipe, connectors, etc. required for the job and installed them--i.e., he did the entire job, which is what I was looking for. He was particular that he got the right parts, even if he had to drive around to get them. He gave me the impression that it was not "just a job" for him, but that he wanted solve the water drainage problem that we had. David is also a pleasant person to be around and I felt confident with him working on the property--closing gates so cattle would not get out, etc. He worked here for 5-days, which included him running around to get all the parts needed.

David is a consummate professional who cares about his work and doing a job correctly. He was also exemplary in visiting the site and drawing up an estimate for the work. This project was perhaps a small one in many respects but a huge one in others. I inherited a long narrow driveway (approximately 11 feet wide by 55+ long) with a steep (40 degree) rise from the street and sidewalk. A previous owner had dumped and spread about 5 times as much gravel as was needed. It spilled over to the adjoining property and always onto the sidewalk and street. Negotiating room for equipment is nil. On one side is my house, directly on the driveway. On the other side, with one foot of intervening ground, is the cottage next door. The gas line is located on the edge of the drive by the house. The sewer line runs straight down the center of the driveway. Two sewer access outlets are also in the center of the drive. On the far side, by the slope, is a 50-year old oak tree with roots. Despite these unarguable obstacles, David (and his father) came in as pleasant and patient as possible with my unending questions and worked efficiently to create a silk purse out of a sow's ear. I am beyond pleased. I strongly recommend David and would hire him again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: Removed approximately 16 tons of excess gravel from a long narrow driveway. Regraded the slope up from the sidewalk. Leveled and regraded the drive to level after removing the excess gravel.

This hill was in bad shape and was sliding due to wrong type of soil used for backfill. when i was looking at her project i could tell this could be a very expensive project and using large rock or even other methods would put too much weight on bank nad cause issue to be worse. I found a more economical method by installing a timber wall solution that was lite weight and just as strong, i installed 2 french drains and lined bank with erosion control matt and germanation matt. I enjoyed working with her on her project and thank you for those nice words. I look forward to working with you in the future

This is our second time using David and he is very responsive, thorough and does a great job keeping me in the loop as the work is done at our rental house 2.5 hours away. Several areas of the road leading to our house were in need of repairs after being washed out due to all the rain in the mountains this year. David promptly went out to examine the damage and provided a quote that was very reasonable given the poor shape of the road. He was able to squeeze us into his schedule before the next renters arrived, which was very important to us so they had a smooth ride to the house. He sent me pictures of the areas he repaired and it looked like a different road! David is our first call for driveway/grading work!

Work was done timely, quickly, and very professionally. See above. Couldn't be happier!!
Description of Work: Dave gave me an estimate of $2500.00, which as it turned out was the right way to solve my driveway problems. When I was reluctant to spend that much, Dave was willing to help me do a smaller fix for $1500.00. After looking around and talking with others in the business, I decided that the complete package was the way to go. After giving Dave the go ahead, he completed the work in two days. Very long driveway requiring over 64 tons of gravel and a lot of grading on upper level by home and lower level to paved road. Looks like a NEW driveway and should last for many years. Dave did extra work, and used extra rock without an extra charge. Use him if you need reliable, personal, professional work done- Bye the way we never met in person--all negotiations on phone or e-mail.

Once David remove the crushed rock, he discovered the driveway base material also had to be removed. He had to bring in the correct type of soil, and then add 6-12" of road bond in order to get the driveway stabilized. In addition, he discovered--and fixed--an area of the driveway that was ready to slide down the hill. All this was done in the rain! Despite having to add more road bond than he had originally planned, David stuck to his quote. I have watched it rain for three days in a row now, and the driveway shows no signs of eroding. If you are looking for someone to tell you what you need to know--not what you want to hear--you need to talk to David. He is the most honest contractor I have ever used. As you can see, this was a fairly costly project, and I wasn't sure I would get my money's worth. As it turned out, the job David did was worth every penny!
Description of Work: This was a major overhaul of an upper and lower driveway. The lower driveway was quite steep, narrow, and had little room for parking. David removed the crushed rock and substandard base soil, reduced the driveway grade, widened & expanded the lower driveway. In addition, David built a 25' long by 4 foot high retaining wall (with French drains), in order to expand the parking area.

thank you for those nice words, the grade to this hoause was steep and done incorrect, plus he had no room turning around. I started building the wall and my dad was regrading driveway, we found issues in several areas that required more material, but in order for this to be correct we hauled in extra material. the wall is a timber wall that I added extra measures for strength and to divert any water shed. after it was complete he had alot more room. I also discovered part of the bank in one cornere was about to slide so I excavated and installed boulders that he had to shore up bank. he was over seas during this project so I took pictures and gave daily reports so he would feel compfortable about the progress and if he had questions or if he wanted changes he could see this thru my pictures and my reports. I enjoyed working for him, I will be also installing pavers and doing some framing work for him in the next several months. thank you

I live in Charlotte, NC, and own a house and property in Fairview, NC. I joined Angie's List specifically to locate a contractor who could dig up a 60+ year-old collapsed culvert in the driveway of the Fairview property. I chose Gibson Grading because of the outstanding reviews the owner received on Angie's List. I called David Gibson and explained to him what I needed. Within 48 hours, David had visited the property in Fairview, called me back with a price, dug up & removed the old culvert, installed a much larger culvert, and graded & re-graveled the area of the driveway over the culvert. As he was working, David emailed me photos of the work in progress and the finished project. I am extremely pleased with Angie's List and with David Gibson! He got the job down promptly, efficiently, and at a very reasonable cost. I will be calling him again for further work at this property. If anyone has any questions about my experience with Gibson Grading, I would be glad to talk with them. David has my email address and my permission to give it out for a recommendation. the culvert had colapsed when I went to look, so I recomended a 18 inch triple wall culvert, she agreed, I dug up old culvert and installed new then i hauled in a load of roadbond to pack over area. I sent her my progress so she would know exact detail of the project, she was busy and I wanted to make sure she knew all work detail. thank you for the job and look forward to being a service in future

Mr. GIbson is not finished with the work but expects to complete the job Aug. 7th or 8th, 2013. He is diligent, sends daily email reports on progress and informs us of possible needs to be working on the driveway so we can plan around going and coming. I feel he is thorough, competent, professional and experienced. I would highly recommend him to others. UPDATE: Due to 2+ severe downpours, the repair of our culvert had to be fixed. This was in no way the fault of Mr. Gibson. I have lived here 28 years and NEVER have I seen the amount of rain that came down in these two storms. Mr. Gibson actually did several adjustments to the driveway repair due to the results of damage from these storms. Mr. Gibson gave a very fair estimate to repair the storm damage and completed this work favorably on the date he gave us for return. Again, he was prompt, communicated his schedule and was exceedingly professional in his work. We are all completely satisfied and would highly recommend Mr. Gibson to anyone.
Description of Work: He estimated driveway repair to excellent condition for use. He provided prompt service, a professional estimate

This area had bad rainfalls in record amounts. the road and ditchlines was not in good shape and no water could go into ditches. I spent several days cleaning ditches pitching the road correct to divert watershed into ditch, then we hauled for several days and layed down roadbond. a day or two later they had several downpours, the road held great but the large culvert sutsained damage due to flash floods. I drove dozer into creek and clean out and brought in rocks weighing several hundred pounds and lines area in front of culvert, then I excvavted creekbed and created a birm to slow water and made a catch area just in case of flash flood. everybody on this road was great to work with and allowed me the time to fix everything. I am looking forward to working with them on a road maintenance to keep road in good shape. thank you for letting us work on this project

Overall it went great and as planned without any surprises. We had previously used Gibson Grading a year prior to fix our upper and lower drive with some grading and putting down crushed rock. This time we had to redo the upper because of severe rain, rutting and drain pipe clogging. David brought at least 2 loads of gravel and resurfaced the top drive and used a heavier rock this time which we all thought was a good idea. We're very pleased with David's work and would definitely hire again. It's good to now have a good go to guy in the instance we need some work done. Very responsible and reliable. Would definitely recommend.

I originally contacted MasterDry because there was water seeping into the basement through the block wall. MasterDry wanted to sell me a system that I felt was not warranted because there wasn't enough water in the basement to require installing a sump pump - which is what they wanted to do. I searched for other basement waterproofing contractors on Angie's List and found David Gibson from Gibson's Grading and contacted him. He adjusted his busy schedule to come to the house to see what was needed. He felt that the problem was the water flow on the outside of the house and by rerouting the water and installing a drainage system to the outside the problem would be taken care of. He was able to schedule a time to come and install the drainage system around the outside of the house where the water was seeping into the basement. There was also a problem with a corner wall in the basement that had apparently been repaired at sometime but not done correctly. He fixed that wall and he also applied dry-lock to the block wall in the basement. I am very pleased with the work that David did. The problem has been solved at what I feel is a reasonable price for the amount of work that was done. I would highly recommend this company for any foundation or drainage issues you might have.

there were several factors that was leading to issue, some of the grading was wrong and the gutter drain was clogged and pouring water down foundation. I fixed these issues and adjusted grade to correct level. I found a small hole in wall that was cuased by poor workmanship, I filled in and made sure it was sealed. I enjoyed working with them, thank you for letting us help you and I look forwadr to working with you in future

David 's work is outstanding. He provides high quality products and outstanding customer service. Prior to starting the work he did an estimate. The cost of the finished project was the exact cost of the estimate. As the work involved digging in the front lawn he was extremely careful around all the plants and trees. He dug up drain pipe from a 58 year old system. There were places along the drain trench where he needed to cut buried roots and removed buried rock. He was extremely careful with all aspects of his work. David is a true craftsman. He is honest, reliable and professional. He is extremely knowledgeable in the areas of drainage and how to control and /or prevent future drainage problems. He demonstrated excellent communication skills in describing, in non-technical terms, his assessment of the problem and how the work would be accomplished. We were so happy with the quality of his work that we ask him to put us on his schedule for the Fall to replace another drain line. We found David on Angie's List. We are grateful to all the other members who rated David Gibson with all those high marks. He's earned an A+ from us too..
Description of Work: David provided outstanding service on replacing an exterior drain. He dug out approximately 40 feet of old drain pipe originally installed in the 1950's and replaced it with new drain pipe. The pipe extended from the outside gutter drain to the street. Additionally he installed two clean-outs at different points along the drain line. He used his knowledge and experience to ensure that the placement of the drain across the front yard and down a hill had the proper pitch for drainage.

David's repairs didn't quite stop all the water and we did also have to have the interior trenched and a sump pump added by another contractor. In fairness to David, we had had a previous quote that basically predicted that our basement was going to be very difficult to repair because of the strange half-dirt foundation. David was always attentive to our project. We liked that he updated us via regular emails. Now, the basement is dry, the tree is gone and, with all the torrential rains we've had in Asheville, we are happy with the work David did.
Description of Work: David Gibson worked on repairing the basement in the 1930's era cottage we purchased. It had a very strange basement in that the lower part is cement-covered dirt and the top part is the original brick foundation. Needless to say, there were constant, serious water leaks. David trenched the exterior to the bottom of the brick foundation, sealed the interior walls, removed a tree that was crushing the foundation at back of the house. David called in a sub contractor plumber to fix the exterior drain line.

The house they purchased was having alot of water issues, The house was build with general foundation and later on was dugg out for a basement which created a very shallow footing and crerated a problem for water issues. We started on the outside installed french drain and new gutter lines, sealed the outside wall then repaired a bad corner. then went on inside of basement sealed inside walls. Ond day during a heavy rain he had a backflow from sewer which plumber did fix. as noted in e mails this would be difficult to repair so we was doing this in stages to repair. after these stages was complete i was working on other projects and all these rains we have been having put me behind and we was planning on installing interior drain system. But i could not meet his timeframe for this stage because i was in middle of another project and behind because of weather.I was looking Forward to installing interior drain but i do understand he had get another contractor to do last stage because of his time frame. If the outside system had not been put into place before all these rains came the basment would have been flooded bad. The outside system slowed water rate down 75%. shallow footings and hand dugg basements are hard to fix and most of the time the outside systems will work or slow down water intrusion.sometimes a sump pump or interior drain has to be installed but it a is rare. (deleted member name) and his family was really good to work with and allowed us to do our job. i apperciate letting us to do the work for you and i look forward to working with you in the future

David Gibson is in a class by himself; in a word, 'world class'. David gave us a detailed explanation of the work required to fix the water problems in our basement. Our problem was when we had more than 2 inches of rain the basement floor would be covered with water. David presented us with a detailed design and the total cost to fix the problem. As the work progressed David made adjustments to the plan. David insisted on keeping the quoted price even though additional materials and effort were needed. One especially nice feature of David's work is the daily emails describing how the job was progressing, explaining what work was completed and what was still to be done. It is truly unusual for one man to be exceptional in all aspects of his craft-- from the initial proposal, to the implementation and communication with the customer. Would I recommend David to my friend and neighbors? You bet I would! We have never been more satisfied with a contractor's work. We just had three inches of rain and the basement is dry as a bone.

Thank you for those nice words. This house had several issues which required inside and outside work. They was getting water in several places in basement along the wall and footings. I started on inside first and right off when i cut thru the floor i noticed massive amount of moisture and the house had very shallow footings. I trenched out along the wall and installed a interior drain just as i finished the concrete work inside we had a storm come thru and it was bad, there was ankle deep water in street. 30 minutes into this water started flowing out interior drains and it was not even set up yet. even before it was set up the syetme was working and no water was coming in basement.I noticed in one corner that brick foundation was crumbling so i repaired it for him for no charge and sealed back wall. i wanted to do this because i did not want him to have a major foundation issue later on. Next we we replaced gutter lines which everyone was not working and causing water to backflow toward foundation. we installed a engineered french drain and foundation drain. i upgraded drain system because it had more water flow rate and i wanted to make sure he did not have to worry about all the water coming off hill hitting his foundation. I did not charge for this upgrade. the project went very well even thou it rained on me several times. John and his wife i enjoyed working for them and they made it easy for me to work and gave me access when i needed it. i will go back later this year to seal other parts of basement walls. Thank you for letting me work on your project

This project went very well. It took him four or five days to do everything. I had to work, so I didn't see him in person, but he took pictures and sent me daily emails with updates without my even asking. Despite my not having been apart of the process, I feel confident that the work was done well. So far, I have not had any problems with water in my basement, and we have had some pretty good rains.
Description of Work: David worked on this project himself. He installed a french drain, excavated my foundation and sealed it, graded my yard to improve run-off, buried drainage lines from my gutters, and cleaned up and sealed the basement wall from the inside. He then cleaned up well and seeded grass.

There was several problem areas and when i started i quickly found that he had several holes in foundation and the gutter lines was not working. i started on the outside, i repaired and sealed outter foundation and installed french drain along foundation and new gutter lines. i also re graded slope to divert water away from foundation. then inside basment i noticed that some construction methods was wrong with step up in basement floor and the application of tile was not correct. when i pulled back trim i noticed alot of mold and moisture. This was caused from water coming from outside. i removed mold and seealed seems. one thing did concern me is the construction of floor in basement, when i was sealing seems i noticed several misteps when floor was done which would allow moisture to build up under floor during a wet season. i have let him know this just in case. the project went well and i apperciate (name removed) and his wife letting me work on his project, i look forward to working with them in the future

We had purchased a home about 6 months prior and were very concerned when we discovered slugs coming in through a small gap in the baseboard in one of the bedrooms. I called Gibson Grading and Construction the next morning and explained what we'd found, and he came to our home that afternoon to inspect the area. He said that it was not unusual for a small amount of settling to occur on the corner of a home and believed very little further settling would occur. He gave us a price to improve drainage on the corner of our home, to do a repair inside that would eliminate slugs in the future, and to close the gap between the baseboard and carpet. What meant most to us was his assurance that we did not have a major problem requiring immediate attention that required a lot of money to fix. We have not seen slugs since, but if it becomes a problem, we will be in touch with Mr. Gibson again.
Description of Work: Evaluated foundation settling and made a recommendation with estimate.
