Our Driveway which is approximately 1500 sf was in awful shape. There were 8 inch holes, gravel was totally gone, and a slippery, muddy mess. David came out to quote the job and was very detailed in his pricing and what it would take to get the job done right. I asked him several questions and he answered quickly in a professional and friendly manner. I had called many landscapers and gravel suppliers and no one mentioned coming out to actually see the drive before throwing a random price my way, this was a red flag to me and I didn't want to use someone who didn't do a site visit before quoting the job. You can tell David and his father care about their product and their customer, I plan on hiring them again in the future when I need them. HIGHLY recommend!

When I met with them the driveway was in dire need to be refurbished, there was a few areas that was muddy. I showed them that it needed to be regarded before any gravel was spread and answered questions they had about the project We scraped off mud and hauled in 3/4 wash stone and made it thick so it would last. I am happy they are happy with the results, Thank you for allowing us to work on project

Much discussion about what would work best and once we agreed on a plan, Gibson set out to implement the plan. He brought in dirt moving equipment, backbone and a helper to finish the job in about 10 days. Lots of labor in this job and heavy materials. Everything went according to our plans. Gibson was a great communicator and did not over promise on anything.
Description of Work: They graded parts of the property to create sloping and french drains around the house in order to keep the water from filling up the basement. Waterproofed the inside of the basement also. Very capable.

There was several areas on outside where grade was wrong and low areas that was causing water to hit foundation of house and leak into basement. The first thing me and dad done was to correct the grading and install new French drains and new gutter downspout pipes and channel away from house. Inside the basement the sheet rock was full of surface mold from moisture issue, we done mold remedial and removed all mold as well as airborne spores. luckly we was able to save sheet rock thus keeping cost lower vs taking sheetrock out and putting up new sheetrock. once this was complete we repainted sheetrock in basement and sealed exposed block in next room. She was a pleasure to work with and made sure we had access to basement and room to work, Me and dad appreciate you letting us work on your project and we looking forward to working with you on future projects

The quote was provided and was to include attractive rounded river rocks (large pebbles) to be lain after the drive was graded. David called me at work on the day the work was to occur, informing me that he was at the property and had brought "white rock" instead of what I had asked for and convinced me the other rocks would flow away with runoff. I was put on the spot and was keen to have to work done and agreed. It is completely my fault that I did not ask for another quote or inquire about the price difference between the two rocks. But the fact is that they showed up at my house with something I didn't order and convinced me it would be better without discussing the price difference. By the way, I have a minor understanding of hydro dynamics and have the impression that a rounded rock (that I ordered) would have a stronger aversion to runoff then a straight edged rock. So I am not convinced they were even correct. Of course I am not an expert and so I digress. The work they did looks great and has held up nicely thus far, but if they go changing things on you I would suggest being a bit more thorough than I was.

He called me about the driveway being very muddy and he wanted it to be widened so he could have more room. He was also having run off issues. This area was a very small space. He asked me about river rock or round rock and I told him that on that hill side it would be like marbles and be a issue and would not hold up very well. He asked me what it would cost just the driveway part I said $800 then he asked me how much extra would cost be to widen a small area and add gravel I said a extra $200, he told me to put it on my books to start. I informed him I would send pictures of rock to see what he likes. He told me he wanted a nice decorative gravel that matched house and area. Before we started I took pictures of different types of gravel and sent it to him, he responded saying he really likes the white gravel. We prepped driveway for the gravel and spread gravel. he worked close by so I called him and he stoped by and said wow how nice it looked and how much more room he had. He was very happy with the results and said he liked the white rock better and he was happy that with the white rock choice. For the Record He did pick rock before we started, We do not show up to a project with a unapproved material! if there is a change I discuss with customer first before we start and make sure it is approved! Second there was no price change! This was the agreeable price before we started of $1000.00! I do not change prices in the middle of a project! I am happy he was happy with the results when we finished the project and I appreciate the A review, I am sorta puzzled by some of the comments! He also said he had other projects he wanted us to look at in future and I will be happy to help him with those projects. Thank you for allowing us to work on this project

David and his dad raised the level of the driveways and graded them so that they directed the water away from the foundation. They also added french drains and catch basins to keep the water away. The basins and drains were then covered with river rock. They also added a pea gravel walkway between the driveways. The whole project was a massive undertaking, starting from digging up and resetting existing culverts and french drains to laying down several tons of road bond and river rock. Aside from being functional, the project looked great! It blended very well with the natural surroundings and the "lay of the land." As an added bonus, David, at no additional charge, took my existing solar lights and mounted them on posts that borders the driveways and walkway. Very nice workmanship and certainly a great value added! The little details that David added, like adding a step to the front porch, decorative roping between the light posts, just reinforces my decision to use him and his dad for my project. He communicated his progress every day and told me what work was planned for the next day. I will definitely use them again. I'll need to tear down and re-build a couple of wooded decks that the previous owner took some shortcuts when building them. Hopefully David will be available for this work!
Description of Work: I have (2) gravel driveways that were never sloped correctly when the cabin was originally built. The past couple of years of hard rain has led to runoff washing down to the foundation and causing water to seep into the basement. Also the driveways had eroded at several spots.

The house was having several problems due to grading thus was causing erosion problems and water runoff. the first thing we did we excavated up old culvert and installed it correct then we regarded driveway in front. Before driveway had a large hump and access to deck was sloped down hill really bad so we regarded and made area uniform and parking area more level. The entrance to front porch I felt was unsafe and was a safety issue so I decided to build a landing and steps leading down to front porch, I felt like somebody would fall and get hurt so this is why I decided to build steps and landing! we took up old rocks was laying around and reused them then we hauled in river rock and placed them and blended them in as part of landscaping. He had solar lights that we pulled up and I wanted to reuse them so we came up with idea to install them on post and add rope to them to really make look nice even at night. The last thing we done was to haul in and spread road bond. During process I sent daily reports to him so he could keep track of the process. Me and Dad really enjoyed working on this project and we enjoy doing rock work, [member name removed] made it easy for us to work on this project, thank you for allowing us to work on this project and I look forward to working on the decks this summer

It went great! In the past, other contractors have simply added more gravel and smoothed it over and this is adequate until the first rain. As soon as it rains this method simply washed away, with all the gravel just flowing down the driveway and off into the woods. Gibson Grading took a much different approach. Before even adding any gravel, they scraped and graded the surface to allow the water to flow at the appropriate angle and to the right spot! Then they added the gravel material which was different from what others had used. It seems to bond together better and not just wash away. lastly, they packed the gravel down. The result was a beautiful new driveway! But the true test was a couple days later when it rained hard all day!! The water flowed to one side, as the design intended, and off down the hill, without the gravel!! We are extremely pleased with the results!! From now on I will always use this company. Not only did they do a fantastic job, they are a small, local, family business that prides themselves on treating the customer with respect and doing top quality work. We couldn't be happier!!

She contacted me about the driveway issue and I went out to look over, it was washed out really bad and had got to the point to where it was damaging vehicles to drive on it, she informed in the past the driveway was just scraped and wash stone laid down! water would go right down the middle washing everything in its path. We went ahead and regarded entire driveway so water would go to one side and dispearse into wooded area, then we laid down road bond which was a good fit for this type of driveway and incline. I wanted to make sure all water would stay away from critical parts of drive so they would not have to worry about a washout. I am glad they are happy with the results, they worked well with me and dad especially with traffic so we could really make this good and lasting for them. Thank you for allowing me and dad to work on this project, we look forward to working with you in the future

They did an excellent job! There was a small snag due to mis-communication on our part and they fixed it in no time at minimal additional expense. The swings are in and they look great! Our kids are thrilled to have this new play space and we couldn't be happier with the work that was done.
Description of Work: Mr. Gibson graded out an area of our playground to make a space for our new swings. He came and gave a bid promptly, his bid was fair and reasonable but the reason we chose him was his level of expertise and professionalism. Mr. Gibson knows his business quite well and it was clear that he was the one for the job.

I was called out to look over a project to grade out for a large swing set. it was so big it was like grading out for a small house. before I started I asked them to make sure it was exact area they wanted to be graded out. me and dad got started and about a few days in I noticed something seemed to be odd so we stopped, I called and told them that there something not right. they came out and concluded bottom markings was put down to far south. which we had already put around 100 tons of dirt on markings. re measured for them to correct issue, we move dirt back up hill to new markings. come to find out somebody moved those grade markings the weekend before we started. it was not them that moved it.it took us a day longer to finish but to be fair they paid us a extra $500 for mishap. I am happy that the kids love the new playground. my next project is that I will be working on their road soon , I enjoyed working with you and thank you for letting us work on this project

David was exceptional! He did an awesome job with all the above mentioned work. He came for the free estimate and thoroughly explained everything to me and answered all questions I had. He gave me an estimated date for the project to start but due to a lot of rain, it was pushed back just a few weeks. David kept me posted regarding the date as I had to be out of town and made arrangements for someone to be here. He promptly arrived as promised. Extremely courteous, pleasant and knowledgeable. As I did have to be out of town during the first week of work, he provided me with frequent reports on the project via email and my dog sitter kept me posted with pictures. It was rather surreal as when I left on Tuesday I had an in ground pool and when I returned on Friday there was no indication that a pool had ever been there. David returned the following Monday and was able to remedy the black mold issue in two days. It took David and i a year to get together to do this project mainly because of my cut hours at work and then my schedule. However, because of the Angie's List reviews about David, I knew he was the person who I wanted to do the project. Very glad I did. I highly recommend David for your project and would not hesitate to hire him again; I would recommend him to my friends and family. Thanks again for everything David and sorry it took me so long to write my review.

She contacted me over a year ago about her project, at the time I was very busy then she had a cut in her hours. We stayed in contact during that time until she was ready and I had time to meet with her. The pool was in very bad shape and to repair it would have cost way too much. She also wanted a back yard as well. Before I started to fill in I located dirt that had been clean with no debris and could compact at 100% rate. This is same type of fill used to raise areas for a building or roadbed. once the hauling started we compacted it in lifts to insure no air and setteling would be slight, this went on for over 3 days nonstop. the next day me and dad finished final grade, raked area with tractor and spread grass seed and straw. when she returned that night it was finished. during her time away I gave her reports on progress so she would not worry while she was away. She was having mold/mildew issue in basement. she told me about it and I told her that I was licensed in mold remedial and clean air, and said I can take care of it. her basement under stairs was infested with black mold and mildew, During test I found airborne pacs/spores we removed black mold and killed off all air bourne pacs/spores. it took a 2 day clean sweep to remedy everything. She was lucky non of this spread to upstairs because this was a health hazard. I really appreciate you allowing me and dad to fix everything and waiting for over a year. I look forward to working on your next project

Davids assurance that my home was not in danger when my retaining wall collapsed was the best news I had. He was exact in his start time and completion estimate. The cost was what I expected and he gave a good Angie's discount. He repaired my front walk, as an extra, which I most appreciated. I would rehire him in a heartbeat. The cleanup and final appearance was more than I expected.

He contacted me about his wall collapsing after a heavy rain and it woke him up when he was sleeping. I meet with him and reviewed the area where wall collapsed and reviewed the bank in question. After all my facts gathered I let him know that his house was not in danger of bank hitting house! The bank was a problem and in the future there was a risk of slide if left alone. I further reviewed and I found issues that led to failure,1. was watershed off bank hitting back of wall with no drain system 2. Too much sand mixture in mortar leading to week joints. 3. No re enforcement behind wall just light dry stack to fill void behind wall. 4. shallow and narrow footing. 5. Bank moving due to excessive watershed over time. Me and dad tore wall down and rebuilt it adding anchors, supports, wider and thicker footers and added 3 catch basins with drain behind wall. Also we slightly tilt wall against bank thus acting a buttress. After wall was complete we moved to next phase to stabilize bank. due to the steep nature and main road above as well as bank being slightly unstable it was not a good idea to try to fix with heavy equipment. I choose to use a method that DOT uses to stabilize mtn sides and stabilize rock formations, we bored into bank, attached anchors and filled with concrete, this not only stabilized bank but we did not disturb much ground in process. His sidewalk had areas where it had dips and worn areas, it really concerned me because it was a trip hazard and could be dangerous. even thou this was not part of job I repaired this for him no charge because I did not want it to be a hazard and safety issue. The project was challenging and time consuming but I wanted to make sure it was done correct and he would not have to worry. Thank you for allowing us to work on your project

She was having several issues at her residence that she had concerns with. The first thing behind her house she had large bank that was starting to slide due to being graded wrong, Me and My dad fixed this correct then added erosion control matt to stop the sliding issue. Second her driveway needed to be repaired due to water running down from gutter downspouts causing the driveway to be washed and rutted, we installed new gutter lines and placed them away from driveway to stop wash issue, then we graded driveway and spread road bond on the surface. The last thing we done is we built a small turn around area so she would have more parking and space. She was a real pleasure to work with and made it easy for us to work on site. Mr. Gibson is a respectful, polite, hard-working, diligent professional. He is a true engineer but also an artist. He works carefully and assesses the situation as he proceeds. This was a difficult job because the previous owner had used sub-standard workmen and materials. The details were intricate, but because Mr. Gibson is an engineer, he figured out exactly how to proceed. He did the work on time and according to budget. I highly recommend his services. The results are structurally sound and beautiful.
Description of Work: 1. Removed a sunken concrete patio, installed drainage, pea gravel, borders, and rebuilt the patio beautifully. 2. Removed an asphalt driveway and a long, concrete walkway, improved the hardscaping, added pea gravel and an elegant border of river rocks. 3. Repaired a hand rail; 4. The patio in the back of the house was causing all sorts of issues including water going right toward foundation of the house which was a big concern, when I got started I found that the patio was installed incorrect due to not installing a sub base,no compaction, no drains or any type of plan to redirect water which caused the patio to fail. This was a challenge due to limited room and I could not get my larger equipment to remove.Luckly I have specialized small equipment just for something like this, it was a challenge to remove but I was able to not the hurt landscaping or disturb the turf very much. after removal I installed French drains and added pea gravel plus built small set of steps then compacted, this portion really turned out nice. The second phase was in the front, we removed a pull in area as well as sidewalk, upon removal of sidewalk I found the same type of workmanship as I found in the back with concrete. What really concerned me is the fact I was working near handrail and upon my inspection it was not done correct which was a safety issue. I poured a new heavy footing and attached rail and made it solid as it should be. Upon removal of the sidewalk and pull in area, we fixed a French drain then brought in sub base then compacted then we added pea gravel. then I build the borders out of river rock to define border and match to the landscaping of the house and it surroundings. The project turned out to be really nice and she was very happy with the results. Me and dad enjoyed working with her and she made it easy for us to work on the property. Every morning she gave us water and made us coffee to drink which we appreciated. I really enjoyed talking and working with her. When David arrived at our place he jumped right down into the creek to see and photograph the problem. He was able to determine and explain to us what had happened and what needed to be done. He emailed us his estimate and we agreed. A few days later he and his dad arrived and went right to work and were done in only two days. We are very satisfied with all the aspects of our experience with David and would call him again, if we need other work done.
Description of Work: Our driveway passes over a creek and the recent heavy rains had eroded the bridge area, making it dangerous to drive over. David and his Dad excavated the site to create a better pathway for the water to flow into the culvert beneath our driveway. They secured the eroded areas with rock to prevent further erosion. David also described a second project which could mediate the volume of water flowing under the driveway. He demonstrated to us that he understands the nature of water and it's force.

Heavy rains and flash floods eroded around the large culvert and eroded under the pavement which was on verge of collapsing and causing a very dangerous situation. fill filled an packed under the asphalt and shored it up and at the mouth of culvert we redirected water flow and installed a 20 mil liner then installed heavy duty rip rap. They was very lucky this did not fail or a car fall thru. I am glad they are happy with the work done, thank you for allowing me and dad to fix this for you.

I have dealt with several contractors over the years. I can truly say this was by far the best experience I have had. I contacted David through Angie's List. He responded promptly. I sent him pictures of my mud hole parking space (10'x30'). We agreed on a price. He scheduled me for the next Thursday. On Thursday he was here on time with equipment and Joe. Joe Gibson is his father. The two of them discussed what needed to be done. David assured me it would be fixed right. He had another job to go to, so Joe would be the one doing the work on my yard. Joe was a treasure. Such a hard worker, knew exactly what needed to be done and went at it. He scooped up the mulch, then leveled the area, and lastly put about four inches of gravel on it. I had metal around the edges, he made sure not to damage that. And David had said to fill up to the edge of my metal and Joe did exactly that. Got none in my yard. Plus Joe was wonderful to talk with. All in all GREAT experience.
Description of Work: I had a parking space beside my house that someone else had just put pine mulch down. It retained water and got very muddy. David scraped it all out and fixed it with gravel.

He was excellent. He told me the job would take around 1 week to do which he was on point with that. He also emailed me everyday as to the progess of the job. He came back to check the drain system and followed up to make sure the drains were doing what they were suppose to do. He is very professional, nice, respectful, and a great person to work with. His follow up is very excellent. I would recommend him to anybody.
Description of Work: He installed foundation drains all around the house and a couple other drains to catch rain water.

Where he was having water intrusion issues was in a bad place and a larger area was flat and hard to drain off any water watershed. The property behind him also drained water toward his house which made it worse. since the house was setting on concrete slab and footing was shallow I installed a foundation drain and went out in the yard and installed drains with catch basins I divert the drains around house to a established ditch line. Plus we cleaned out ditches so water could flow better, cleaned out culvert. The day we was finishing and I loaded equipment and I was showing him all details of the work I had done there was a extreme cloudburst, the rain fell just like we was in a hurricane. he was nervous because a flash flood started coming from the property behind his house and going right toward the house, we was watching and he was amazed how well everything worked, what shocked him is when we looked at exit pipe for the drains it was shooting water out like a fire hose. Not one drop of water intruded,he told me that would have been a massive flood in house if those drains was not installed. I am happy he liked our work and I thank him for letting me work on his project.

We called David based on the strength of his Angie's List reviews and we found him to be very professional and knowledgeable about our extensive and varied drainage issues. Our house is situated on a steep hillside and I was very concerned that anyone without experience in dealing with such problems could possibly make them worse. David assessed the erosion issues around the house and made recommendations about how to address them. He provided a written estimate and contract by the end of the day. He was also very honest about the lead time before he could come to do the work, but because we were also planning to have new gutters installed in the meantime, I felt we could reasonably wait two months to get on his calendar. In my opinion, when a contractor has that much work booked, it says something about the quality of his work. David's intended start date did slide by a week or so, but that was caused by the amount of rain we had. Once he started the work, he maintained excellent communication about each day's plan, when he would arrive and what he'd completed and what he would start the next day. He was also very considerate about where he parked his equipment so it wouldn't impede our ability to get our cars in and out of the driveway on the days he was working in that area. Not only did David complete installation of the projects for which we'd contracted his services, but he also went the extra mile to repair some of the unforeseen changes to our property which resulted from the excavation. In extending a drain under the gravel driveway, I was concerned that several rotting landscaping timbers along the driveway which were already unstable and in danger of collapsing might actually fall into the roadside culvert. David said he would make sure those were replaced and that the driveway was stabilized when he worked on that section of the property. Not only did he replace the timbers, but he also brought in some very large rocks to re-line the drainage area and reinforce those sagging timbers on the hillside. He offered to do this at no additional cost since he said he already had his equipment in place and could purchase some rocks at the quarry along with other materials he was buying for our project. Not only did he fix this additional problem , but he made the whole area look better than it did when we bought the house. He also made a similar improvement around the area of the sagging cement slabs after I told him about my concerns that erosion was threatening the stability of our air conditioner unit. He did what was necessary to reinforce that area even though it was not in our original contract. Finally, David pointed out that we had a crack in one of the footers on our back deck and graciously offered to do a stopgap repair on that as well in order to keep it from getting worse. In grading David's work, I give him the highest marks with the single exception of price. I do think he may charge slightly more for his work than some other contractors, but I do believe his expertise justifies the higher prices. Not to mention he was so willing to include the additional 'fixes' to problems he discovered along the way once he started working on the property. He didn't attempt to hold us up for additional charges and that is something I greatly appreciated. This gave me a sense that I was dealing with a very fair, honest and hardworking person. That means a lot to me. Overall, David Gibson is someone who pays attention to detail and cares about his work and building his reputation. He came to address the problems we had, but while he was here, he assessed our entire outdoor area with an eye on what's necessary to keep a property 'healthy' for a lifetime. He was helpful in his suggestions yet not alarmist or overbearing. As such, I feel this is a person who treats my home as if it were his own while keeping in mind our budget restrictions and our need to address problems a little bit at a time. It's not often one feels they have a trustworthy contractor who can be a partner in helping them maintain their property for the long term. We look forward to contracting David Gibson for many of our home repair/construction needs in the future.
Description of Work: David Gibson excavated an area along the side foundation where we'd had some water seepage during heavy rainstorms. He installed a new foundation drain and catch basin in that area, and ran a drain pipe under the driveway into an existing culvert. In addition, he installed river rock along the foundation of our house and carport and installed downspout drains to prevent a worsening erosion problem we were having. Finally, he reinforced and extended retaining walls around concrete slabs for our crawlspace entrance and the slab holding up our heat pump condenser. These slabs had begun to collapse due to erosion around the underside and edges.

The area's that there was issues was on a very steep slope and limited room and they was very concerned about erosion and causing issues to be worse. But with my extensive exp in these areas I made sure they was comfortable with the plan I had proposed before I started. Water was intruding in a garage converted to room, I found several areas that was causing this, first of all the grade was pushing water toward the foundation which had no drain plus had a few holes in concrete. Second. gutter downspouts was not working correct pushing more water toward foundation. I lowered over all grade plus installed new foundation drain as well as catch basin with catch area to catch water runoff plus installed new gutter downspout line and diverted away from house. They was also have issues with eroding bank which driveway went over culvert, since I was there I wanted to make sure this was fixed so they would not have to worry, I did not charge extra for service because I already had equipment onsite and the invested a lot in the project already so I wanted to help them out. areas near garage I added new gutter lines and installed river rock to make sure they had no erosion issues, I done the same thing under one of the decks they had as well. in the back of the house I build 2 walls out of timbers to shore up concrete pad and heat pump area. This was not a easy job due to slope but it turned out well. They made sure I had plenty of room to work and I gave them daily updates and kept them involved thru entire process. This project did cost more than avg due to slope and conditions! Sometimes when I bid a project it may not be the cheapest bid, this project is a example, but I do not focus on doing cheap and shoddy work like other contractors, I focus on doing what is best for my customers solving issues and make sure they get the best for their investment and have piece of mind when project is completed! I do strive to be as affordable as I can be but I want what is best for all my customers and have them know that each project is done correct and is lasting! I really enjoyed working with them! What was really nice as well is the fact he loves history so we both talked about history and ww2 history. I really enjoyed that as well since I love history myself. thank you for letting me work on your project, I am looking forward to start working on your other projects you have planned

The driveway was in need to be fixed due to all they heavy rains and erosion. I went in and repitched driveway and installed 3 diversion birms with new ditch line to control watershed. One of the issues she was having is the main road above her was causing water to come down her drive way. i also installed a birm above to divert that water as well.Once these phases of the job was complete We spread road bond and compacted driveway. The job went really well and I enjoyed working for her. Thank you for allowing us to work on your driveway and I look forward to working with her on other projects in the future

David and his dad were awesome to work with the entire time - from start to finish. They answered ALL our questions - explaining several times whatever we asked. He and his dad have so much experience and it shows from the original assessment to the finished product. And they were both a joy to work with....David's dad is so nice and fun...we can't wait to work with them again. Trust me we will. If you have water issues of any kind, need grading or construction work - you should contact them immediately. Ernie and Bonni Sigmon
Description of Work: Originally when we contacted David it was to grade our driveway and add new rock. He was prompt in every area. He came quickly to access the job and present us with an email proposal. He also gave us a great discount because we found him from Angie's list. The price was more than fair. Before he could begin the job we found a water issue at another house on the property. David quickly again accessed the situation and presented us with a cost. David and his father quickly put us at east for for a very fair price fixed the water issue.

The driveway needed a complete refurbish due to heavy rains as well as the age of the driveway. We started the driveway project and the member informed me they was having a drainage issue beside and around the building that was causing damage to building, I found out the French drain was installed was not functioning and the grade and gutter drains was channeling water directly to building. It was a very tight space and they also had a garden pond and other features. Trying to get general equipment was not going to work because of space limitations however I was able to use a specialized excavator I own that can go thru 4ft gate and works in spaces like this which worked great. Me and dad fixed the issues with new drains and redone grade to channel water away from building. The good thing is that this machine was small enough to that it did not disturb garden pond or landscape features. We finished the driveway with 3/4 washstone and it turned out really nice. During the time I made sure to answer all questions they had as well inform them and involve them in each phase of the project so they would have a scope of what is involved in the project. It was a real pleasure working for them and me and dad enjoyed talking with them. Later this year we plan to work on another project for them and we look forward to that. Thank you for allowing us to work on your project, we look forward to start our next project with you later this year

I have reviewed this complaint to see if this was valid because we take things like this very serious and each call from Angie's is very important to me as well as the members projects! I reviewed my records/emails/voice mail to see if I had any record of this member contacting us about driveway repair. After further review of all information this member has not contacted me about any repair! I have reviewed all information from last few months to see to see if I had any records of this member which I do not have any record's of point of contact! When I reviewed this I first and foremost wanted to see if I had made a mistake and let this member down by not returning the member's call because as I stated before each call from each member is very important! I keep very accurate records plus from emails/voice mails to insure that I provide the best service possible! As the other members states in the other reviews that we are prompt and we keep our word! Mistakes do happen which I understand! This is the 3rd time in 5 years a member thought they contacted me but it was another company they was talking too and they reviewed the wrong company! However even thou this member has made a mistake and reviewed wrong company! I would like to help to fix the member's driveway issue's because once we finished the member would be as happy as the other members which gave us A ratings! If this member would contact us I would be more than happy to help the member out.

David was very responsive from the start of the project to the finish. I really appreciated that I could reach him through email, given that it's often hard for me to get to the phone during the day. This was a tough job, given that when we started the project we weren't aware of the extent of the problem, but David was great from start to finish. The culvert that he replaced was made out of rusted-out oil drums that ran under the gas and water lines, meaning that he had to do a lot of hand-digging. But we are very pleased with the results and would definitely use Gibson Grading in the future.
Description of Work: Replaced a rusted-out culvert running the length of the property. The original culvert had actually been constructed of old 55-gallon oil drums laid end-to-end to create a pipe. David Gibson replaced these with new professional grade corrugated pipe culvert.

In the back and side yard there was several areas where the yard started sinking and this was posing a real danger of somebody that could step into a hole and get injured especially posed a risk because of the small children they have. They was concerned as well as I was about the kids safety! I first figured the area's was caused by old rusted out steel culverts but once the project started I found out it was old 55 gallon drums that somebody had cut out and made into culverts. What made matters worse the main gas line and water line as well as sewer run in direct path which I had too do a lot of hand digging in that area. I replaced the old barrels with triple wall construction 18 inch culverts. The project did take slightly longer than planned due to the water/sewer and gas line. The project went good, I enjoyed working with them and I look forward to working with them on other projects later, thank you for allowing me to work on your project.

The driveway was in bad shape and water was washing it out really bad. The first thing we done was to trench out ditches and re pitch driveway so that water would flow to culverts and way from main surface! The grade was really steep and we compacted new road bond so that there would be no issue with loose gravel. The project went really well and He was easy to work with! On a personal note I did have one surprise, When he called and I went out to look at project this customer happened to be my high school biology teacher a long time ago. It was nice to catch up from all those years that went by. I was thinking to myself when I was working on his driveway that I remember him teaching me biology in high school and fast forward to today I am fixing his driveway! It is funny how life works sometimes. I really appreciate you letting us fix your driveway, I look forward to working with you in the future

Before the work, heavy rain would leave standing water around the walls of our garage and dampness in the crawlspace below the house. Water would also collect on low points of the lawn because it was not properly draining away from the house. The original twenty-five year old drainpipes no longer functioned. The steep hillside had filled in behind the house in the years since it had been built and it was difficult to drive around to the back of the house because the driveway was narrow and sloped down towards the pond. The water that came down the hill should have drained to the pond but instead drained behind the house and seeped into the garage. After David Gibson graded the land, the drainage is working well and the garage and crawlspace have remained dry. We can easily drive around the back of the house and the rain that falls there now runs down toward the pond where it helps to keep it full. We are enjoying doing some additional landscaping with the rocks that were dug up during the grading - there was probably more rocks than there was dirt. As a bonus, the excess material is helping to shore up a steep bank on my driveway. David had the right equipment and worked carefully in very tight spaces and took the time to make sure we got what we wanted out of the job. We are extremely happy with the work he did for us and we would hire him again for any grading work.

The house was getting a lot of water in the basement due to grade being wrong and not having correct drains plus wore out drains. This project was not easy due to limited space and the amount of rock. we corrected the grade and installed all new gutter downspout and French drains an divert all watershed away from house. This was fixed before it become a larger issue and started damaging basement. there was several area's causing water intrusion. there was a French drain installed incorrect and wrong type of application causing water to pool and causing foundation to leak, second in the back part of yard there was no where water to run except toward house. First thing we done was to pullout old French drain under deck and along foundation and install correct drain with correct angle so water will flow away from house. second in back part of yard we installed a engineered drain and installed catch grates. This was a very tight area to work in but we was able to accomplish project the very little disturbance. I enjoyed working with [member name removed], I look forward to working with him in future.
