Excellent. David came out quickly and gave an estimate that day. He had an opening the following week and was able to get the foundation taken care of over four days. This included excavating, removing rhododendrons that were part of the problem, pouring a new footer, repairing the cracked block, and putting everything back together. Additionally, some downspout lines were relocated to empty further away from the house. We couldn't have been happier with the work and will be getting some landscaping work done in the future through Gibson's Grading and Construction.

I found a few areas that needed to be fixed which one stretch needed a larger footing , which we poured and made footing area stronger, I also seen where the gutter downspouts was causing water near the foundation thus causing more issues, so we installed new lines and extended away from the house so water would not intrude under crawl space. Thank you for letting us work on your project.

David Gibson put in a beautiful road for us through our property when the road behind our house collapsed in late December of 2015. We needed to provide access for out neighbors to be able to get out and David did an incredible job at that time. This job which was completed in November of 2016 was annual maintenance, widening of the road and reinforcement of a steep area at the top of the road. As always, David did a professional, excellent job. He is one of the nicest people we have ever worked with and we trust him completely. He is professional, friendly, punctual and is always willing to work with his customers, especially if they are in financial straits. I would give him higher than an A if possible. Will definitely be hiring him again and recommend him highly.

After David assessed the damage, he gave me a complete and detailed estimate of the work to be done. As it turned out, the cracks were present because there was no footer in two 8 foot sections of the house. He knew about the first one but not the second. This was important, for the reason that he did not change his charges for the work. He even found three other problems that needed repair, and charged for neither! I feel fortunate that he is a civil engineer rather than simply a contractor because of the nature of the project, yet he was able to describe the work to be done in terms a layman can understand Being an engineer, he is a perfectionist, that is, he made sure that the job was done correctly. In addition, he apprised me of the progress throughout the seven days it took. As well, he provided me with pictures of the work from the crawl space. His communication skills are, simply put, excellent. Furthermore, his manner remained pleasant, personable and professional, despite the fact that he had to drag 4 cubic yards of concrete, bag by bag, into the crawl space, mix and pour, and attach the new footers to the old ones with rebar. In sum, it is hard to believe that I was able to have someone who performed a job like this so accurately, professionally, and by a person who is so pleasant to work with and dedicated to his work. If I have the misfortune to have a similar problem in the future, I’d hire him in a heartbeat.

He called us about a crack in the foundation due to a small earthquake, it is rare to see something like this but it was true, one thing we found some areas did not have a footing and the block was just sitting on soil was on reason for the cracks. we fixed the problem areas including new footings to shore up foundation, repaired the cracks. everything turned out great and he was a joy to work with, thank you for letting us work on your foundation, I look forward to working on your next project

David was great! We were previously familiar with David and his dad's company from a previous quote we needed on a community road project. We were never able to complete that task because of no interest from other property owners. We knew to call David when we needed our new house driveway redone. He gave us a fair quote and came as scheduled. Done in a day and a half. Driveway is SOOOOO much better now! I'm very happy and David is a great guy.

Excellent! We called David, who returned our call that evening. He was able to come and inspect our driveway quickly as he was in our area doing another job. David called us that evening and explained what would need to be done and the estimate. Lucky for us he had an opening between jobs and would be able to come then. We have a shared part of driveway with our lower neighbors. They were concerned about that area but David spoke with them and adjusted how he was going to complete the drainage. (Making for happy neighbors) He completed the job (refurbished driveway, dug out areas for water to flow away and hauled in road bond) all in one day. It was a pleasure doing business with David and we will be calling on him again to help with our backyard drainage.

Great work! David was so helpful and kept in constant contact throughout the project. We just bought the home and it was in need of some drainage and crawlspace work before we could move in. He exceeded our expectations and did extra work not included in our quote for no additional cost (installed a mailbox, built a new crawlspace access door, removed an old basketball pole concrete foundation in the driveway, repaired a well connection). After installing the drains, he seeded the area. He even put up with a snake problem we had. Gibson's Grading and Construction is a reliable company that you can count on to get your project done. We highly recommend David and plan to hire him again for other projects.

We did however run into a unsual snake issue which a snake wrangler had to be called out! She contacted us about a sink hole in her driveway and she was very concerned, I met with her and looked over issue and found that a old metal or old cut out barrels was used for a culvert, it had decayed so bad over the years it was just a cavity underground eroding when it rained. I recommend using a double or triple wall culvert, I explained to her we do not install metal culvert anymore because the rust out in 15-20 years so we use a heavy duty pvc type double or triple wall with smooth bore inside so debris will not clog it,she agreed to go with heavy duty culvert. Me and dad went out and excavated out and installed new culvert then spread [Member Information Removed] bond and installed rip rap rock around mouth of culvert. They was very happy with the results and felt safe on a secure area now vs before. I appreciate you letting me and dad work on your project, let us know if we can be a help in the future

A recent home inspection alerted us to the possibility of mold in the crawlspace. The same report had two other items listed that required a professional opinion. David was able to come to the house within a couple of days for an assessment. Much to our relief, he found us to be mold free and provided advice on how to proceed with the other items. This is the second time we have enlisted his services, and I'm sure it won't be the last. He is excellent to work with.
WOW! We were impressed! David went above and beyond what was called for in his contract. He treated our property and made suggestions as if it were his own. He not only installed the French drain, he ran additional lines to make sure they wouldn't be over loaded in heavy rain. Even though it wasn't in the contract, he built a retaining wall around the heat pumps to keep run off away from them. He re-graded the bank where he ran the drain pipes as well as the whole back yard, seeded and put down straw. He was very conscientious about not damaging the lawn with his equipment. And the nicest thing he did was repair a part of a retaining wall that I wanted to be left in place. In the basement he tore out the minimum drywall to assess the amount of mold. He located all areas with mold, removed it and treated for such. He aerated the basement for two days. David gave us suggestions for moisture control in addition to stopping the water coming in. We purchased a de-humidifier as he suggested and it shut off automatically after two days without filling as there was so little moisture in the entire basement. Success! I wish David could clone himself into other tradesmen. He is the best example of honesty, integrity, hard work and caring we have seen in all the many contractors we have hired in the last three years.....and there were many. I feel more confident that this job is probably the better value for our dollar than any that we have put into our home so far. I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to recommend David and his helper Dad,
Description of Work: David installed a French drain in our back yard and all of the accompanying grading and seeding. He also did mold remediation in the basement where we were having the moisture problems. Plus a lot of helpful extras we didn't expect.

We couldn't ask for a better job or person to do it! David is very pleasant, professional, honest and hardworking. He is an incredibly skilled equipment operator. It was impressive to watch someone with such finesse. Above all is that he sincerely cares about the job he delivers to the customer - the hallmark of any good company.
Description of Work: Reworked and renewed roughly 1200 ft. of road, with an emphasis on water diversion. Supplied all necessary materials.
Problem all started one day, when our cable TV installer told me that he had noticed a significant accumulation of water in our crawl space -- located under the main part of our home. Without hesitation, I knew the man that I wanted on this job-- David Gibson (Gibson's Grading and Construction). David came out to the house within a day or so. After a thorough examination of our home and property, he gave me the diagnosis. Due to improper drainage of our backyard - coupled with an improperly installed & faulty Gutter System, the ground in and around our Home's foundation was completely saturated with water. In fact during periods of prolonged rain, a small pond would develop in our backyard. Over time this problem resulted in a significant amount of water forced its way into the crawl space under the main part of our house and the crawl space under sun room). Further, the high moisture content (in the crawl space under the Sun Room) resulted in a significant amount of mold to build up over time. (Fortunately, because Dave is a licensed and certified Mold Remediation Specialist in North Carolina, he was able to completely eradicate ALL Mold under our Sun Room.) Note: David also pointed out (during his initial inspection) that the water buildup in the crawl space under the main part of our home, had also resulted in the ground under the foundation's "Footing" to significantly erode to the point that a complete "reinforcement" of the footing was needed. The bottom line- A. Upon Dave's strong recommendation, prior to Dave's arrival, I had a Gutter company replace and relocate our downspouts so that the water was properly channeled away from the house. Summary of David Gibson's Work: 1. Dave and his wonderful 'dad' installed an "Engineered" drain system in our backyard. Important- while this more 'robust' drainage system was NOT initially quoted, after Dave began his work, he discovered that our backyard's soil was much too 'sandy' for a standard drainage system. And because Dave ALWAYS has his customers best interest in mind- "at his own expense" he installed the more expensive "Engineered" drainage system. Something else that I want to mention. While some contractors may opt to run the downspouts into the "same" backyard drain system (to save cost and time)- Dave believes that there are times (during heavy downpours) that the water flowing from the downspouts could easily overload this drain system configuration. As such, Dave ran a TWO separate Huge (10 inch- I believe) Drain Lines- one for proper backyard drainage and the second for the downspouts. Very impressive to say the least! Time to install the Backyard "Engineered Drain System" -- about 5 days. 2. After Dave had finished the work in the backyard, he began the work in the main part of the crawl space. ** Good news, thanks to Dave's outstanding professional expertise --- our crawl space under the main part of the house (which previously had in one place 3-6 inches of standing water) was now Completely free from all traces of standing water! This then permitted Dave to begin the work on reinforcing our foundation's 'footer'. He completed this "extensive" work in approximately 5-6 days. I must say, that when you are dealing with your home's foundation-- obviously since a successful job is crucial --- it is essential that you find a contractor who is absolutely 100% TRUSTWORTHY . The point is this- it would be very difficult for an average homeowner (who is not a structural engineer) to determine if the job was correctly done. As such, I no choice but to put my complete and absolute trust in David that the job would be done Perfectly - Period. I will tell you this -- after having worked with Dave over the first week -- I had determined that David was a man of exceptional "character"-- someone I could completely Trust. Whatever the problem (even if it was a unforeseen problem that needed to be taken care of) -- I was absolutely confident that Dave would take care of it -- and He would do it --- AT HIS OWN EXPENSE. This is just the type of guy Dave is. Truly, he is One of a Kind! ** (side note: I believe that he has been an answer to our prayers and as a result David Gibson has been unquestionably a Blessing from God ). I would give David Gibson ( Gibson's Grading and Construction) my highest recommendation. )
Description of Work: Installed a complete Engineered Drain System throughout our large back yard - providing 'outstanding' drainage for our lawn and in addition, the gutter 'downspouts' were also tied into the system. Secondly, provided Concrete Reinforcement -- for the entire concrete 'footer' that supported one of the main 'load bearing walls' in our 4200 sq. foot house. Thirdly, he provided Mold Remediation for the crawl spaces (both under the main part of our home and our sun room).

Thank you for those nice words, the backyard was collecting a lot of water which was really causing big problems in his basement, there was one area where it was undermining the footings which was so bad I could crawl under undermined area! In the yard we installed a new drain system and new gutter down spouts plus regraded the yard to work in conjunction with drain system, once this was completed we installed a large footing support under load bearing footer as well as installed a 6 mil barrier in crawl space after that portion we done mold remediation. He was great to work with and everything turned out good, thank you again for allowing us to work on your project, we look forward to working with you in the future
After the work was completed 3 weeks later there was rain storm the driveway washed away. I attempted to contact Mr. Gibson and he refuses to come and look at the driveway. He did not stand behind his work and will not come back and fix it. His will not accept responsibility and in my opinion $2,500 should last longer than the first rain storm. The new driveway did not even last a month.
Description of Work: Mr. Gibson re-graded our 230 foot long driveway, installed 2 culverts, and brought in multiple truckloads of gravel after our driveway was washed away in the last torrential rain. This will be my second response to the member, the above statements are false and misleading! when we started the project they had a neighbor above them that dumped gravel and was doing odd work above them, i told her that what they was doing will turn all the watershed on top of them which is double and i recommended them to talk to her neighbor about the concerns which she agreed, we finished the project on the 14th and on the 16th we had a torrential rain about 4 inches, then snow a large snow a few days laterabout 2 1/2 weeks went by and she told me her driveway was wonderful and doing great and said she was going to post a great review on angie's list which was on the 27th almost 3 weeks after we finished! Here is a copy of review below she left almost 3 weeks after project was done so when i read her road was gone in 3 weeks, her review below states overwise! She did not contact me until about march and when she did i was concerned and i looked into it and reviewed it, when i looked at the driveway it was perfect just like we had left it, nothing washed away or eroded! i did notice washout on their neighbors property above them which she was getting silt of her neighbors property, she asked me about the ditchline why it had a small 2 inch gully in middle of the ditchl, i told her that it was normal which it is, i also told her that that all that dumped gravel and stuff they done on your neigbbors property is causing silt to wash in your yard. She said she will contact him and voice her concerns. About 2 weeks went by and she contacted me again saying she wants $3000 cash or she will post a negative review, which she did! We went above and beyond and she was very happy when we finished and even posted a great review about 3 weeks after the projects was done! When she had a concern i did look and review it which her road was in perfect shape! When i work with customers i take the time to voice any concern i see to make them aware of! i am very disappointed in this customer because of false statements and threating to post a negative review to try to get $3000 cash! This is very unprofessional of her and she should be ashamed of herself! As everyone reads on other reviews we do what we say and we go above and beyond on each project! He also widened our parking area with gravel and brought in extra gravel to fill in a pot hole near the street. Member Comments: Mr. Gibson was professional, prompt, and thorough, and went above and beyond (laying an additional pipe to extend the gutter drainage under the new driveway and away from the house) to fix our driveway to be able to accommodate massive amounts of rain without washing away. We would not have known how to grade the driveway ourselves. He obviously knows what he's doing. Share on Band of Neighbors: Yes Company Response: The driveway was in dire need to be redone and they needed a more parking area as well, also above them there is a driveway from their neighbors the way it is constructed pours a lot of water down right on top of them causing all sorts of wash, we went in and regarded and installed larger culverts with a new ditch line to help control water shed from above, the process really went well and everything turned out nice and they was really nice to work with. One area of concern i do have is the neighbors drive above them which caused main problem before which during heavy rain may cause a flash water event, i would recommend them to contact them and discuss options to divert water from above which i would be more than happy to consult and come up with a plan. thank you again and we look forward to working with you in the future Overall A Price A Quality A Responsiveness A Punctuality A Professionalism A
If we could give David Gibson and his father 10 stars, we would! Never in our experience with having any kind of work done have we had such an incredibly positive experience. Due to heavy rains and other factors, the gravel road that runs behind our house collapsed. We knew of David Gibson through neighbors so another neighbor and I called him to look at this very dangerous situation. After looking at the road, David, a civil engineer, declared it unsafe. We are just grateful that nobody was hurt or killed when the road collapsed and totally agreed with David's assessment. David notified his other customers of the situation and they graciously understood that this was a job that needed to be done as soon as possible (thank you all!) When we purchased our home, we understood that we had to provide an access road through our property in case of a situation like this, so we already had a rough area cleared and wide gates on our fence. David and his father came to work immediately and put in a wonderful new road for our neighbors to get out. (At the time of writing this review, David is working with other neighbors who have lost total access to this new road because of their proximity to the collapsed road.) But the story goes far beyond excellent work and professionalism. I have never met anyone who has cared so deeply for the safety of everyone and has done everything in his power to work with the seven of us involved in this unfortunate situation. At one point, David was ready to begin a fundraiser to help with neighbors who couldn't afford the work to be done! He stayed in touch with us daily prior to the job through emails and phone calls to all involved. He and his father were punctual, professional, friendly - in short - outstanding! The job that David and his father did on putting in the new permanent road was excellent. Several large trucks have already been up the road with no problems. We needed our driveway graded and he and his father did that for us too. We will continue working with Gibson Grading on having the road maintained over the years, but hopefully will continue the professional relationship in friendship.

During heavy Rain the main road failed and slide off the side of the hill to the point where a new road had to be cut in, the slide was so bad I estimated the weight of material was equivalent of a ww2 destroyer about 2000 tons, when I looked at the issue I determined that as far as safety and cost that a new road would have to be built, we used a right away that to provide new access, we graded and hauled in roadbond and built a new road, everyone involved was really nice and everyone worked together well. It was a very bad situation because there was several people could not get in or out. Thank you for those very nice words and myself and my dad enjoyed working with everyone and I am glad everyone has a new road, thank you again
I was very pleased and grateful for the work David did. My driveway was just about impassive due to erosion and overuse. I was getting married and several guests were arriving. David came and gave me an estimate quickly. We arranged the date but due to issues out of our control, the date was backed up to the day people were arriving. David was very gracious and got the job done before anyone came. We are VERY pleased with the work he did!!!!! Rain has done some damage and I plan on using Gibson Grading again to fix it. I also want to pave the driveway when we can afford it. I will definitely use him to do the job.

David Gibson and his dad were very responsive to our email with a request for a bid. Their bid was competitive and they have very good reviews on Angie's List. They were able to perform the work within a few weeks of contact-- had to finish up some prior jobs due to rain delays. They were able to get our job done in about 2 1/2 days. They cleaned up after themselves and replanted grass in the area they had dug up. We have NO leaking in the basement now with normal rain. We have had some leaking with the flooding rains of late, but we have discussed this with David and believe that we also may need to install a sump pump on the wet side of the basement. Good job done overall.

There was several areas in the front of the house that was causing issues with leaking the first one was the gutter gushing water along foundation and water standing along retaining wall when it rains, we installed new gutter downspout lines as well as a French drain along front of wall. They do have a sump pump but it is at the wrong area in the basement plus the area they live is bad to have springs which we have installed several pumps within 2 blocks of this project. I am happy they are happy with the results, When they are ready we will be happy to install a new pump system for them, thank you again for allowing us to work on your project

David was very responsive as always by e-mail. He replaced the drain lines in sections in case there should ever be another incident with these lines and my neighbor's dogs (neighbor has promised they won't be in my yard again). Pop-up valves worked well in the rain last week and will only require my removing snow and leaves. I think this is a good solution that he suggested. The ground is still quite soft due to all of the rain we'd had prior to the work and after, but grass is growing due to same and David did a nice job grading over the new lines. A small tree was snapped near it's base beside one of the pop-up valves, I'm guessing with the digging equipment, but that is not a problem as I had asked him to put the lines a little bit deeper. The lines run alongside my septic field so I was glad to have David do the repair work as he was familiar with my land and leech field and has always done good work for me. I am hoping this is the last time I will need David to come do repairs for me on my drainage system, but I will call him again should I need his help!
Description of Work: David fixed my drainage system (again!) after I discovered it was my neighbor's dogs doing the damage. He repaired two drain lines and installed pop-up valves so there won't be anything above ground to tempt the dogs (or places for rabbits to hide) should they come back to my property.

A few years ago I replaced the gutter down spout lines in this area, She contacted me telling me that the lines was pulled out of the ground and ruined them and she had no idea what happened till one day she seen the neighbors dogs finish ruining the drain lines. i went over and replaced both lines and installed pop up valves so no animals can run up the pipe and detour neighbors dogs from tearing it up again. As long as i have been in construction this is the first time i have ever seen something this odd happen. Thank you again for allowing us to fix this issue .

I looked over my notes to see if we done a this project for this member i found that we did not do this project for this member however 3 years ago he did contact us about redoing his driveway and installing a new culvert which the bid was $2000, After i submitted bid i did not hear from this member till this review. There is 3 companies in the Asheville area in landscaping, construction and roofing that has Gibson name but this project was not done by us. I do not want to take credit for a project we did not do. If this member needs our services in the future i will be more than happy to help
I'm not sure there is anyway to explain to anyone the quality of work Gibson performed. They are talented, patient, honest to a fault and worth much more than they charged for what was done. Originally, only french drains were to be placed, create the area for the fire pit, replace the piers and remove the cracked cement. We were doing to use pavers on the patio and the entire yard area. Obviously, that's not what happened. David was so patient with us - changing our minds about what to do (daily) and helping us understand what the final outcome would be. It was obvious to us how creative David is with the work he does. All items used were top quality. The sod, the dirt under the sod, pebble river rock for the fire pit, only grade A piers...everything used had to be perfect or they weren't using it. I can assure anyone thinking about using Gibson for any job...you will only receive top quality work. They do not cut corners for any reason. They are proud of what they do and care about each client they work with...whatever the job may be. This becomes apparent when you work with them...their character and work ethic is impossible to beat. Whatever the price you are given...it's an honest price. You will only receive excellent work and be more than happy you made the choice to use Gibson. Oh, by the way, this is the second time they have completed work for us. the other job, a year ago was also completed with excellence.
Description of Work: Removed cracked cement which was the patio.Placed french drains under patio, side yard, end of driveway closest to home. Replaced deck pier posts under deck and attached to patio. Created area for fire pit, placed sod in yard and placed gravel rock at the end of the driveway. Pavers were also laid to create the patio.

The patio in the back was cracked and wore out and the piers from the deck was sitting on top of the patio and was sagging really bad, the first thing we done was to remove concrete patio and install new piers and re level the deck, once this was complete i installed a french drain under the deck and out in the yard, this followed the area where the pavers and fire pit area would be. The next step was to install gravel for firepit area and walkway then preped under the deck for pavers then the next step was the sod, which we hauled in good top soil with a good mix then installed sod and shaped it to the area. Then the last step we installed pavers and installed french drain in upper driveway. The whole area really turned out very nice and functional, and i wanted to make sure this would be lasting and enjoyable to them. Thank you for those kind words and me and dad are happy you love the results, we look forward to working with you on other projects

I had a 10 year old, 3-story deck that the previous owner took shortcuts when building. It had become very unsafe to the point that I didn't want my family spending time on it. David stripped off all the old decking and railing which had become very unstable, and replaced it with quality lumber. They added joist hangers which where missing with the original build and re-enforced the post and joist connections. The deck pitch was also corrected since the original pitch was too much. David also expanded the depth of the second story deck from 8 to 11 feet to give us more room. This work include adding new posts to support the expansion that was 14 feet above the ground. I could not be happier with their work. David even took the initiative and got rid of a major wasp nest that was under the front porch. This is the second major project that David and his father worked on for me and I would not hesitate to use them again. I trust him to do quality work!

This deck had really become unsafe and concerned me for him and his family. It had reached the point to where most contractors would have tore it all down and rebuilt it from the ground up. Once I inspected it, I had determined that some of the frame and main parts could be beefed up and instead of doing a tear down and rebuild which would have cost double. I told him that I could rebuilt it and it will be safe and save him half the cost! First we tore down rails, deck boards and took down bad portions of the deck, we lifted the frame, anchored everything and set to level with slight pitch, this was a challenge due to 3 levels at once. Next we extended area on mid deck so a tent could be set up. We added new deck planks and new safety rails with post trimmed. Then the next portion was in the front of the house which we redone that deck as well and built a new landing. The project went well and I am happy I was able to rebuilt and save him a lot on money in return vs complete tear down and rebuild. We have things in place to be able to rebuilt decks and other construction projects that would be deemed to tear down and rebuild. We also made sure everything was above nc code for decks and if we seen a area that needed to be updated we updated and got to nc code. I am happy he likes the work done, thank you again for letting me and dad work on this project, I look forward to working on your other projects.

The work went well considering it rained a lot, slowing down the project. David did a great job regrading the road to allow better drainage. He added the right kind of crushed rock material to prevent future problems. He listened well and gave good advise. One big thing for me was that each night during the project David would send me an email detailing what was accomplished that day. Since I didn't live at the site those messages were very helpful. We are very happy with David's work.

This driveway is a shared driveway that was in very dire need to be redone, there was a few issue regarding drainage which new ditch lines needed to be re established to control water flow and make sure the driveway would be intact, we redone the ditch lines and improved grade so water would flow into proper areas. Then we hauled in road bond for the steep hill then wash stone for the flat areas which made the parking areas look nice. The rain came about everyday making it difficult but we was able to work around the rain delays. Even thou he was hours away from this project i wanted to make sure he was involved from start to finish so i emailed him a progress report and kept him informed of the project, we do this practice alot with our customers that is long distance so they can be involved with project and be comfortable with progression even thou they may not be present. The driveway and parking areas turned out nice and i am happy he is happy with the results, thank you for allowing me and dad to work on this project, we look forward to working with you in the future

After I left a second voice mail message the following day, he emailed me that he was out of town and would get back in touch with me the following week. The following week he emailed me that he was booked until January! So if you need any work done this year, I would recommend you find someone else!

This member did contact me about working on a concrete project, the time frame she had and the projects i am on there was no way i could meet her deadline, so i respecfully told her that i will have to pass on this project because i was booked and i could not meet her deadline, she contacted me a second time and asked me again and i told her the same thing that i was busy on projects and i could not meet her deadline, but i said i do apperciate you contacting us and if there is anything in the future i can help you with to let me know, and she said thank you! I am dissapointed in the fact she left a response like this! We make every effort we can to meet deadlines of our customers and sometimes like in this case we get calls that customers need something done depending on the project really quick and most of times we can get to it but like in this case sometimes we are in the middle of a project which we cannot pull off! My advice to her is to be a lil more understanding and get more facts before making comments on a company! In the future i would be more than happy to help her out on her projects

It?s frustrating to us that we never got the opportunity to see any of David?s work. After initially accepting our road project, he failed to communicate with us efficiently regarding his timelines, continuously delayed and pushed our project back over the course of 3 months, and was inconsiderate of the time we had invested in him. While we do respect and understand that this type of work has delays and setbacks, we expect to be updated and given reasonable projections for a start date that will be adhered to. In March, David came out to give us an estimate, after initially trying to cancel the appointment the day of. He seemed knowledgeable, and provided us with a reasonable written estimate. The summary of the work was outlined pretty well, but was not professionally written and required editing before being presented to the HOA. This was the first red flag, but we decided to move forward based on the positive reviews here on Angie?s List. Approximately a month later, we had gathered the necessary monies through our neighborhood HOA and contacted David to officially commission him for the work. That was April 20th, and we were told it would be late May/early June before the work could be done. As late May approached, we contacted David to confirm he would start on the agreed upon date, but he told us it would be early July before the work could be done. If we hadn?t contacted him, I?m not sure when he would have let us know about this significant delay. David told us that the delay was related to weather and issues on other projects. While we were frustrated that he hadn?t communicated this to us, the contractor ASSURED us that he would start July 8th and that the project wouldn?t be delayed any further. We contacted David once more on June 29th to confirm he would be starting the 8th of July, but again, after we contacted him, we were told (to quote his text) ?I am not sure yet [related to the start date]. The group I was going to get to haul backed out, I am trying to find a new group to haul that way.? By this point we were really frustrated, as once again we only found this out because we contacted him. We expressed our frustration and that we were losing faith in him due to the poor communication, to which he accused us of ?attacking? him and claimed that he had ?respected on communication.? He then proceeded to tell us that he was ?going to pass? on the job, and then shortly thereafter told us he ?got another hauler lined up.? We were stunned and weren?t sure where we stood on the project! Ultimately, in the end, we did not feel comfortable moving forward on such a large job with someone that seemed so disorganized. While it is entirely possible that this contractor would have done a good job, his business practices were questionable at best. I anticipate a spirited and defensive response to this review, where he takes no responsibility for his unprofessional behavior. We are of the impression that customers should be treated respectfully and considerately, but the contractor did nothing but deflect fault and his text messages finally spiraled into a weird, incoherent diatribe that left us wondering what was going on. We feel if there were delays, we should have known about them right away. Additionally, we felt he kept pushing us off because he didn?t want to do the job or valued other projects over ours. Our road is currently in terrible shape and is unsafe because of all the time wasted trying to organize the project with this contractor. Initially, we didn?t want to leave a negative review, but felt compelled to illustrate how frustrating this process was, specifically because of David himself.

I have no idea who this person is but i will set the record straight! i was contacted about fixing a community road, i met with another person and not this one, we went over the issues they was having and i came up with a solution, one issue they had is they had no HOA, so i guided them over 3 months and during that time it took that long to raise funds to repair the road! we was supposed to start july 8th, monday i received a call form the company i had hired to haul and he had a family death and had to cancel, i contacted HOA and told him The hauler canceling and before i could tell him why and that i had backup plan he went into a verbal rant and saying things i cannot mention, i tried to tell him the guy i had lined up it would be july 9th, he kept on ranting so ignored it and he said he was going to join Angies list and give a bad review on purpose! a few hours went buy i received a call saying he wanted to move forward and he was sorry and wanted to start fresh i said ok and i said i figured you was having a bad day! I came in today and read this in shock! i tried calling him and i am being ignored! His actions are very uncalled for and i do not apperciate it! I ignored his inmature rant and still went forward with planned project then come to my office and read this untrue bluster, i do not get it! This member above i did not meet with or know who she is, the man i dealt with is the president of HOA! Members who read this, look at all my A reviews about how i do things and communicate, I communicated just like i do with All the over 100 A reports as is read! Trying to hurt a company on purpose is uncalled for, and this member does not represent true Angie's list members! Even thou they wrote untrue things above i will not stop providing top service and i will continue to work with all angie's list members and keep providing A type service! It hurts me for members to read untrue and hurtfull and vial things against me but i will keep a good attitude and move forward to provide best service! I want To thank Angie's members who support us and give us the opertunity to serve them
