Twice now he’s done roadwork and grading for me. This second time he gave me an excellent parking area on a brushy lot, and in addition, threw in about 500’ of a walkable road into property so could get better feel for the land. I will use him for all my work and developments I do in future. He communicates in a very timely matter; he’s amazing at follow up; does what he says he’s going to do and always has given me more than what he said. And, the first time I hired him to grade and repair about 1700 linear feet of road, of the 5 road comoany’s I interviewed, he’s the only one who asked once we walked the road, what my budget was. Then he gave me options. I have a great deal of respect for David. I highly recommend him!

From determining the problem, offering more than one solution, helping fit the solution to our budget, staying in touch, doing exactly what was promised, and more than expected. David Gibson thinks outside the box and finds the best solution for his customer. He followed up initial visit promptly with a written quote. He worked closely with us while on the job and consulted us each time there were decisions and changes to the project. He did the work himself rather than dropping off a crew and leaving. Being present and hands-on allowed him to make excellent suggestions for improving the scope of work as he deconstructed a retaining wall and landscaped the area. He stayed in touch with us from quote, to beginning and end of the 2 week project. His suggestion to landscape the area instead of replacing a failing retaining wall improved the looks of our yard and solved a drainage problem. His time spent on the job was exactly what he promised and he rearranged his schedule to rush our project since our home was for sale. He cares about his customers. I would rehire him for any type of work in his many areas of expertise. David is experienced, takes care and pride in his work and stays in touch better than any contractor I've ever worked with. Our home sold quickly after his work was complete.

excellent. I hired david based on his reviews and I was not disappointed. he knows his stuff. all rainwater diverted away from house-had to regrade, install catch basin and reroute. also did crawlspace dehumidify and mold intervention on a small spot which was just beginning. good work is worth its price. you get what you pay for

All the projects were performed on time and exceeded my expectations. David sent me periodic photos of the progress he was making which was very helpful as i was not on site when the work was performed. He was very respectful and easy to work with.

I hired Gibson Grading and Construction to inspect the foundation on a home I was purchasing during the Due Diligence period after a home inspection found a major moisture and mold issue in the unfinished basement and attic. The owner, David Gibson, provided a reasonable quote to resolve these issues, I was able to use his quote to negotiate down the price on the home and I purchased it. The proposal provided consisted of installing an engineered drainage system where water was not draining away from the foundation, coating the unfinished basement with an isq waterproofing agent, mold mitigation in the basement and attic, repair gutter drainage issues and grade a large 7' wide swell on the top of the hill to divert water away from the home. David was polite, punctual and professional and the job was done right. During the repair work, David found a few other minor issues with leaking downspouts and a recommendation to replace mulch with rock near the foundation and repaired them at no additional cost. I was so happy with David's work that I have hired him to completely renovate my deck and I am on his schedule. David has been in business over 20 years, owns all his construction equipment and has what it takes to get the job done right. The numerous Angie's List positive reviews was a factor in my decision to hire this company. I strongly recommend Gibson Grading and Construction for any project if you need an honest job done at a reasonable price.

Gibson Grading was awesome!! They were very professional and courteous and always on time and attentive to what we wanted done. Will probably use them again in the near future for a retaining wall and steps.

I called David this morning and received a call back within five minutes. What a pleasant surprise to have him come to our house within thirty minute to look at our site and quote us a very reasonable price. David graded a small area for us and put down road bond. While he was here, my husband spoke to him about additional work on our driveway for another time. We received a quote for that work, but before leaving David cleared the sides of our driveway to improve runoff after rains, no additional charge. We enjoyed our experience with David. His work ethic, professionalism, and consideration to go an extra mile are much appreciated. We will call again!

I can't say enough good things about David and they work they did. He was on schedule, within budget and kept us in the loop throughout the project. He went out of his way to make sure we understood the process and spent time explaining potential future issues that we need to keep an eye on. We will definitely be hiring Gibson again.

The new retaining wal is not only very functional but looks great. This is the second job David has done for us and once again he proved he's a professional. In fact we have him lined up to re-pave our entires driveway later this summer. Can't go wrong hiring Gibson Grading!

David replied to our request for an estimate right away. The day that he was scheduled to arrive, he was punctual and gave an honest, straight forward bid for the job we needed done - a breath of fresh air, and quite a change from the no-shows and inflated, over priced bids we had gotten before! He was friendly, knowledgeable, and was experienced in exactly the types of job we needed him to perform. I have no doubt that he could have gotten the job done in a timely and professional manner. Ultimately, we opted to use another company, but only because the cost of materials was lower as their material is sourced from the same mountain we are located on. We would highly recommend David Gibson to anyone looking for an excavator in the greater Asheville area.

David was excellent in every way. He was particularly thoughtful and creative as to the best way and materials to use. He made adjustments as his work proceeded based on the difficulties he encountered. The wall ultimately required more time and materials then he estimated, but he did not ask me to absorb the extra cost. Throughout the week it took, he kept me informed daily, was punctual in his arrival and kept the sight neat and clean. I would happily work with him again.

We needed a drain to channel water away from our foundation. This house is in a very wet area and water was channeling down on our property.

David was great! We needed to get water issues solved in a house we were buying in order to close in a short time frame. David rearranged his schedule to help us make the closing happen. His expertise solved the problem by installing French drains around the entire house. He also removed paneling in the basement and repaired cracks in the foundation wall and water proofed the walls. Problem solved. David went above and beyond what we expected and helped us solve a problem we were not quite sure of. He made plenty of suggestions for future improvements and our realtor was so impressed by his expertise that she has found a new resource for her other clients as well. I would highly recommend David.

The driveway has been finished for a few weeks now and gets firmer and more compacted as time passes. Outstanding work from real professionals.

David responded promptly to my inquiry, came out to discuss the project, and provided a quote within a day of his visit. He listened carefully to what I wanted to do and made great suggestions to improve the outcome. The grading of a very long, gravel driveway at the new house was a serious problem and lack of maintenance over the years had taken its toll as well. Rain tended to run toward the house and the driveway was choked with weeds. David changed the slope of the drive so water will flow away from the house, removed old collapsed and clogged pipes, installed new drains, and laid new gravel. In taking out a decrepit block stairway, he operated the backhoe-loader with near surgical precision. Great fun to watch and very impressive! While David worked on the driveway, his father—a very interesting guy, too—hauled debris away and fetched new gravel. They’re a very efficient team. Personable, professional, and highly skilled, David was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. He managed to fit this project into a busy schedule and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Finding someone reliable to undertake home repairs or improvements is stressful, and I feel very fortunate to have found David. I hope to the opportunity to work with him again on future projects.

I talked to several road people before I found Gibson Grading. The first thing he did was Ask me my budget. Then he was ableto tell me what he could do for me. We sent the dates, and he was there as planned. He did MORE than I had the money for, made a huge difference in the road, and we have interest in the property we have for sale now.
