We went to Best Buy to see what we should about current system running slow and shutting down Internet connections prematurely. Service consultant was very helpful and based on how we use the computer suggested we get a new tower which would give us added storage and RAM. So we did but had to also purchase a Geek Squad service contract so they could transfer our files to the new tower. So had to bring the new one home and then bring the new one and old one back for file transfer. We did so during the ice storm. As was transporting both towers on a cart (6and quot; off the ground) the old tower slipped off the cart. Got both in and left for transfer. Got call to pickup and was told the old hard drive was not readable so could not transfer. With a $250 deposit they could send the hard drive off to see if data could be recovered. If data could not be recovered we would get $100 refund, if could recover, we would get an estimate of cost to recover what they could recover. Not liking that answer, we returned the tower we just bought and canceled the Geek Squad contract. On the way home we looked online for computer shop in Calabash to see what our options were...this was 2 PM on Saturday. Found Knosys very close to our home and they were still open. Went in and talked to the sister of the owner who was minding the shop but sold us they knew their business and if they could not fix our old tower there would not be a charge. Got a call Monday afternoon that the problem was fixed and we picked it up at noon on Tuesday. Problem was not the hard drive at all. All our data was there. Said it was a power supply problem (not sure what that means) so replaced power supply and did an all around clean up and update. Bought it home, hooked it up and all data is there and it is operating as smooth as a top....cost $150 vs the $500 plus at Best Buy would have been before they tried to recover data that was there and that was not the problem. Paul at Knosys was outstanding in explained everything and answering our questions. Even supplied us a power cord (charged us $2) when we realized Best Buy had not returned the one they insisted we bring in.

Called because a friend liked their work.Took the desktop to their store. Replaced power supply. No waiting.$35 for 1/2 hr labor and $60 for new Power Supply.
