Richard and his associate looked at the space and measured it. His associate went under the house to look at the possibles issues associated with the drilling of holes and placement of the dryer vent and water connections. During his time under the house, he placed his hand in a large puddle. They were not sure where the water had come from and made an appointment the next day to bring a camera and look for the culprit. The next day, they brought a camera and began the search for the problem. It was our air conditioning ducts. Without Richard and his crew, we would still be blissfully ignorant about the problem under our house. We appreciate the time they spent helping us with this problem.

I am happy with the responsiveness for the call back AS WELL as working with my schedule to get here to do the estimate. If you choose this company I think you will be too. I am happy with the gentleman who came to do the estimate (Jeff). He actually had been here before with another company and did a WONDERFUL job at that time. So I feel sure that if he were doing the work for you he would do a wonderful job again. The only thing I was unhappy with was the price. To replace our hot water heater it would have cost us a full $380 MORE than the company I found to do the work. And I am very pleased with the company I chose (After 5 Plumbing). As I said, I am sure that the work of Mr. Rooter is exemplary ... but the price would have prevented us from getting it done. So good work or no we still would have been without a hot water heater. I asked about financing and was told I could call the office and see. Most of the time it isn't done but that they might make an exception. I asked if people just have a thousand dollars laying around to do these kinds of repairs and he said ... in a word ... yes. lol Well. We do not lol. I didn't like feeling like we would need to be an exception asking for special favors in order to get this kind of work done. Surely we are not the only people who would need to maybe split the payments up into three or four segments. When I mentioned that my husband had tossed around the idea of just buying one and replacing it ourselves he said we could buy it and they would install it for $524 ... but if we bought one (at best for $250 ... and then paid them $524 ... we'd still only be saving about $100 bucks lol So yeah, the pricing is I think a little too high end for us. Price doesn't always mean the best since we were able to spend only $600 and got just fabulous service from another company who had the whole thing done within 2 hours and we had hot water the same day. :-)

Jeff Sewell was the tech for this job. He was very knowledgeable of what needed to be done and explained and showed me everything he was doing. It was a tedious job but it went smoothly. I would definitely recommend this provider.

GREAT! I have not let the bath water go up to the overflow and there has been no subsequent staining or leaks. While I could have had Mr. Rooter replace the seal it was going to be a big job due to the type of pipes, location, etc. I would definitely call Mr. Rooter of Alamance County again!

I made the most common of homeowner mistakes, leaving the hose connected to the outside faucet during the winter, and it did indeed break. The unfortunate part was, I was at work when it happened. The fortunate part was that a neighbor who was working on my gutters at the time noticed the water and got his shut off wrench and cut the water! I joined Angie's List that night and decided to give one of the recommended plumbers a try. 'Mr. Rooter' of Alamance received an "A" score and they were nearby. I went to the website and entered a service request online. I received a phone call the next morning from Richard and he and his Technician, Blaire, arrived at 9:30 a.m. (which was close to their eta). The two immediately set to work on repairing a broken pipe connection under the crawl space. They were courteous, professional and prescribed abundant preventative and ancillary tips on plumbing and even gave me the run down on tank-less hot water heaters! All the while finding time to enjoy throwing the ball for my Border Collie, 'Gracie'. With the 'Flat-Rate' pricing and Membership options, I purchased a care agreement and used an Angie's List coupon saving me money instantly. I will recommend both Richard & Blaire to my neighbors/friends for any of their plumbing needs, these guys were AWESOME! THANKS GUYS!

Came on time. Very professional appearance. Gave estimate of cost and time frame of work. Did the job and made sure everything was working properly. Cleaned up the area and did not leave a mess.

On the night of July 23rd my wife and I came home to a toilet that had overflowed in our finished basement. The bathroom was a disaster and every toilet, sink, and shower upstairs from this bathroom was emptying water/sewage out of the downstairs toilet. I called the Mr.Rooter hotline, a plumber called me back immediately and was at my house within 20minutes of the event. He efficiently evaluated the problem, removed the toilet, snaked the drain x 3, evaluated the line via video, and then went above and beyond by competing 90% of the cleanup of this disgusting downstairs bathroom. This was an amazing experience with an expert plumber who quoted me a reasonable price prior to beginning, and then went above and beyond his duty to help me clean up the sewage left in our downstairs bathroom. I would most highly recommend their services in the future and will use them for all of our plumbing needs.

Richard Knapp (local Mr. Rooter) was right on time for the service call. He assessed the situation and provided an esimate that was acceptable to me. He did point out that the intallation cost would be less if he was not installing a customer-provided fixture. Of course my warehouse club fixture was more inexpensive than the Mr. Rooter fixture. The installation was competed during that service call and the job was very professional. Even though he did not provide the fixture, he took the time to examine the product warranty and explain in clear terms the manufacturer's coverage. He cleaned-up the work area after installation and did wear protective "booties" when working in the house. I will definitely call him when future plumbing work is needed.

I liked that the estimate was specific and not phrased in the form of 'I charge 100/hr for this, 300/hr for that'. One company offered to do an assessment and estimate and would waive the $70 tech fee if I had them do the work. Richard showed up promptly for a no charge estimate, ran a camera in the system and showed me what the initial situation appeared to be. He provided a specific estimate and did precisely what he said (with a written warranty not available from the others). When the first stage was done, that revealed what the actual problem had been. Part of the sewer system had been damaged and become disconnected allowing roots to enter. The second visit repaired that damage and relocated part of the system to avoid further damage by vehicles since the top of the old clean out (previously unknown and hidden just under the surface of the ground) was too close to the driveway. I made phone calls and obtained other estimates, some more casual than official, but the prices charged were definitely competitive and the overall style of business was certainly exemplary.
