 + -1 moreJeff is great, but he said he has a 3-4 month waiting list right now for projects, in part from referrals via Angie's List. You may be able to get him on short notice for a simple job on a weekend morning like we did. So please be aware the man is heavily booked.

 + 2 moreA lot of work, done very well for an excellent price (actual cost was lower than his initial estimate, even though we added things along the way)! Just purchased another house and I intend to have Jeff do all the work on it as well.
Description of Work: Pretty much restored an old mill house built in 1941. New windows, rear deck, bath, part of kitchen, removed popcorn ceiling and refinished all ceilings in the house.

Description of Work: I think the last job Mr. Carter did for me was installing an attic fan. He wired the fan so that I could turn it off if I'm away. He did a very good job. He has also don't other jobs around my house and he's prices were always very reasonable. I'm looking to have my bath room remodeled hopefully in 2015. Guess who I'm going to call!!!!!!!!!!

Description of Work: Repaired walls in two bathrooms, where previous repairs by a former owner had led, over time, to bulging and peeling. Repaired water damage in bathroom ceiling. Re-plastered walls in bathrooms, and three other rooms where settling had left cracks.

 + -1 moreOnce I spoke with Mr. Carter about the dishwasher problem, he was very confident that it would be an easy repair and that he would handle it promptly. He was very flexible with his scheduling so that he could accommodate the needs of my tenants. Once the time and date were set, he was very prompt in showing on time and performed the work quickly and professionally. I will definitely use Mr. Carter again for any of my future needs with this property. He is trustworthy and knowledgeable and he gets the job done.
Description of Work: I own a rental property in Elon, North Carolina and I live in California. I do all of the property management myself and have to rely on good service providers to assist in any work that needs to be done on the property. My tenants told me that the dishwasher in the kitchen had come unattached and was tilting forward. I found Mr. Jeff Carter on Angie's List and gave him a call, and explained the problem. He was great.

 + 5 moreWe were so pleased with Jeff's work. He cleaned up the work area as much as possible each night so we could use the area most evenings. He was courteous and responsible about coming when he said he would. His son worked with him on several occasions. We were actually able to have Thanksgiving dinner in our new big kitchen's dining area because he worked longer hours to get the job done.
Description of Work: In the fall of 2011, the lower level of our house sustained water damage. We contracted Jeff Carter to do some remodeling since we were going to have to replace the floor and some drywall. We had a very limited budget so Jeff helped us figure out how to get the most out of our remodel. He tore down a wall separating a small kitchen and dining room. He closed up the door to the kitchen and made a wider door out to the family room. This allowed us to move the ill placed refrigerator and build a pantry closet where the refrigerator had been. It was necessary to do a lot of rewiring and additional plumbing in order to move the refrigerator. Jeff added additional counter space and recessed lighting. He did all the drywall work and installed new laminate flooring.

Description of Work: contacted mr carter he came out to my home but i have not heard from him again. don't know if i would use him again as i did not use him to begin with. angie's list needs to come up with a better way of reporting. i am not saying mr carter was good or bad as he never got back with me.

 + 5 moreThe work went better than expected. Jeff not only did excellent carpentry work, but he was punctual and finished the jobs exactly when he said he would. He cleaned up his mess and left things as though he had never been there. I highly recommend Jeff for you carpentry needs. We will definilely be calling on him again
Description of Work: Tore down and rebuilt privacy fencing and repaired 2 9 X 4 inch panels on the side of the house. The fence looks 100% better than the original fence. It is sturdy, well-made and attractive. We are extremely pleased wth the finished product. On the side of the house, he removed 2 rotting panels, replaced and painted new ones. The work was done quickly and matches the rest of the panelling perfectly.
