The initial installation didn't pass the county's inspection. It took them 3 months to come back out here. I don't know if that is how long the county took to get a hold of them. I wasn't asking them very many questions. They came in and did their work and they left. I wasn't happy about the cigarettes that were hanging out of their mouths both times they came here. I don't care if they smoke it just left a bad impression. They were smoking while they were working. I like the owner. The owner was the one who initially came out here, but he wasn't the one who did the installation.

Every time I call, they're always Johnny on the Spot. They offer good service and are dependable. I've never had to call them back after they came out for a repair. They are eager to please. I'd highly recommend them!

The workers arrived promptly and began right away on the work. They kept my husband informed throughout the day regarding their progress. Due to the amount of work that needed to be done to they had to come back the next day to finish. They discovered the issues with the zone board and heat strips on the second day. The zone board was bad and had to be replaced. A worker left and had to drive to a location that was about 30 minutes away to get a replacement. The price came in $100 above the original estimate due to the replacement of the zone board. The cleaned up before they left. The workers we dealt with were very honest and straighforward and made suggestions that were sensible when we selected our unit.
Description of Work: We purchased a new HVAC unit from Bryan which they installed. Additionally they did some rework of our ducts as they were not properly installed. Upon examining things they found our heat strips had never been hooked up nor had our Zone Board been connected. The corrected both of these issues.

I've never had a bad experience with Bryan's and continue to be impressed by how professional they are. My mother and stepfather were wholesale distributors of heat pumps in another city for years, and I don't even bother asking their opinion any more when I have a heat pump problem because I trust Bryan's completely!
Description of Work: I've used Bryan's Heating & Air for years, and they're always very professional, prompt, and do a great job. I called them when my heat pump started making a loud rumbling noise when it cycled on. Unfortunately, it didn't happen every time the unit came on so when Shane came out, he had to stand out there with me for a while until it made a similar sound. He correctly diagnosed the problem and returned to fix it when the part came in. Things were working great but I felt like the upstairs was more humid than it had been. Shane came back out yesterday, realized I had been leaving the fan on continuously which was the wrong thing to do with my air handler, and explained why I shouldn't do that. He blew out the line for me and didn't charge me for this return visit. He's always a pleasure to deal with and I'll continue to use Bryan's and recommend them to anyone who needs their AC repaired!

This was as pleasant of an experience as it could have been considering we had to spend so much. We got several estimates and theirs was very competitive. Communication before, during, and after the job was excellent. The crew arrived as promised every day and completed the job in a quick, yet professional manner. After completing the job the crew left nothing behind (litter, parts, etc.). We have had no problems or issues with the unit. We would highly recommend them!

I called to get information on their yearly service aggreement. After talking to the office person I scheduled an appointment. They came to my house to service the unit; they were on time, very nice and professional.

I began to notice a problem with heat pump on recent cold mornings. Heat Pump is aprox 12 years old. When outside temps dropped below 40 it would only run on aux heat and the unit would click but not engage but as day warmed all would be fine and it ran normally. On Monday AM called Bryans around 9AM and they had someone out by noon - Shane. By this time of day it had warmed and system seemed fine upon regular check - what I was impressed with is Shane did not start off trying to sell me a new system due to this ones age (it has been running good and I plan to use it until it just dies) actually it took Shane listening to my cyiptic description and asking the right questions to diagnoise the problem. He gave me a quote and said I could watch it and see what it does or he would go ahead and replace the defrost board. He let me choose. I went with the replacement. He ordered the board - showed back up when he said he would and was quick and professional. Also has a 1 year parts warrenty and 40 days labor. They have my business because they seemed honest and fair and not just out to make a buck on someone that doesn't know better. My thanks to Shane.
Description of Work: Checked Heat Pump - it had been acting werid on the recent cold mornings. Diagnoised bad defrost board and sensors. Had to order part and replace.

I looked up HVAC references and called Bryan's. Made an appointment for the next morning- repairman came right on time. My daughter said he was very professional. They were also willing to send a bill which was wonderful.
Description of Work: Heat was not working in my small 3 bedroom house. My daughter lives here and I am in Raleigh so I didn't want to come out if I didn't have to! Fixed problem (bad capacitor) with professional manner. Part was $90, labor was $80, man stayed about 1 hr.

After receiving the quote and agreeing to utilize the services of Bryan's Heating and Air, everything went downhill. The work team showed up late, and they proceeded to "hang out" in our garage. One person would be working while 3 others were sitting around smoking cigarettes and chatting. The smell of smoke leaked into my house because they were smoking inside my garage. There was an empty bottle of cheap wine left in our recycling bin in the garage after the team left. No joke. Our backyard was trashed where the team "installed" the new outside unit. They left the plastic wrapping all over, the extra wires/cords were left laying around, the unused parts and junk from the removal of the original unit was scattered around, and there were pieces of tape wadded up, etc. My dog came running around the side of the house with foam pipe covering in her mouth like a toy. It was ridiculous. I spent 20 minutes cleaning up after the team left. It was extremely unprofessional and I would NOT recommend this company based on our experience with the team. Maybe Bryan should re-think the people that he has working for him because they are giving his company a bad name. **Member response from 9/28/09: While we do have a full-sized refrigerator in our garage with a keg tap on it, our garage has a 1966 VW Beatle parked in it at all times as well as 4 bikes and surfboards on racks. There isn't a lot of room for it to be considered a 'party' room. We have two recycling bins next to the refrigerator. On the top of one of those bins is where we found the cheap bottle of sparkling wine after the group of men left. I can assure you, while not trying to sound snobby, that the contents of that bottle were at no point consumed by anyone who was invited into our home as a friend. I would not have noticed it had it been something that we regularly drink with dinner etc. Needless to say, strawberry wine doesn't go well with pasta. My husband and I are both attorneys and our friends are young professionals as well. While we enjoy having friends over, I found the comments left by Bryan about our garage being a 'party room' were off base. Bryan's office was contacted about the trash left in the backyard where the unit replacement had taken place and we were assured that someone would be coming out to clean up the mess. After 3 days of waiting we decided that we'd just clean it up ourselves. The process took about 10 minutes, and while not a long time in retrospect, it was the principle of the matter that really bothered us. There were foam pipe encasings left around, used/wadded up duct tape, plastic wrappings everywhere and several pieces of pipe.
Description of Work: We used this company to get a quote because we needed a new heating/AC unit installed in our home. Bryan was actually very helpful and responsive with the quote. He set us up with the installation of the new unit in a timely manner. His team, on the other hand, was horrible.

IS TO MAKE SURE ANY TRASH WE ACCUMULATE MUST BE PICKED UP AND NOT LEFT AT ANY CUSTOMERS RESIDENCE, ALSO THE ACCESS TO HER ATTIC WAS IN THE GARAGE SO SHE WOULD HAVE SEEN A LOT OF TRAFFIC COMING AND GOING INTO HER GARAGE, UNFORTUNATELY WHEN THE ELECTRICIANS ARRIVED TO INSTALL ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS TO THE SYSTEM INSTALLED MY EMPLOYEES WOULD HAVE HAD TO COME DOWN FROM THE ATTIC AND ALLOW THE ELECTRICIANS TO PERFORM THERE WORK, DEPENDING ON THE TIME IT TAKES THE ELECTRICIANS TO FINISH MY EMPLOYEES WOULD HAVE HAD TO WAIT BEFORE THEY COULD COMPLETE THE INSTALLATION AND I WOULD HAVE ASSUMED THEY WAITED IN THE GARAGE. MY EMPLOYEES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SMOKE ON CUSTOMERS PROPERTY, AND NONE OF MY EMPLOYEES HAVE EVER DRANK WINE OR ANY ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ON ANY CUSTOMERS PROPERTY OR ON COMPANY PROPERTY OR IN COMPANY VEHICLES, THESE ALLEGED ACTIONS ARE UNACCEPTABLE. THERE MAY HAVE BEEN A PIECE OF TRASH LEFT ON THE PREMISES BUT WE DO ATTEMPT TO LEAVE THE PREMISES IN THE MANNER IN WHICH WE FIND IT. AS FOR THE WINE BOTTLE FOUND IN HER GARAGE, THE MEMBER'S USE THEIR GARAGE AS THEIR PARTY ROOM AND HAVE A REFRIGERATOR THAT THEY SOMEHOW BUILT INTO A BEER KEG MACHINE. ONE OF THERE FRIENDS MAY HAVE LEFT THE WINE BOTTLE. WITH THIS BEING SAID THE JOB PASSED INSPECTION. MY COMPANY DOES AROUND $2,0000,000.00 A YEAR IN BUSINESS, WE GO INTO ABOUT 2000 CUSTOMERS HOMES EACH YEAR, WE ARE NOT COMPLAINT FREE, BUT WE HAVE MINIMUM COMPLAINTS, ALL COMPLAINTS RECEIVED ARE DEALT WITH QUICKLY AND EFFICIENTLY TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE CUSTOMER. IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT MY COMPANY RECEIVED THIS COMPLAINT BUT BE ASSURED WE USE ALL FEEDBACK CONSTRUCTIVELY TO HELP PREVENT FUTURE COMPLAINTS. Description of Work: I called shortly after 8AM and they answered the phone promptly. I was given a clear expectation of when to expect the technician. He called approx 20 minutes before he arrived, as promised. When I arrived at the house from the office he had already arrived and done what he needed to do outside. He found the problem in the house quickly and made the repairs. He was also able to tell me where I could find new filters.

During the "research" phase of this project, I obtained estimates from 4 companies. In order to be able to fairly and equally compare each proposal, I had to ask each owner or representative to "tweak" their proposal so that all 4 would be identical in the work being proposed. Bryan made himself available to answer my many questions, returning my many calls and/or emails quite promptly in order to comply with my many requests to modify his proposal to make it look as similar as possible to the other three. (I also made similar requests of the other three companies that I was considering). During the installation phase, he was on-site for part of the time, though as company owner, he has a foreman on site who is responsible for being sure that everything is going the way it is supposed to. Everything was completed on schedule, and as planned.
Description of Work: Installation of 2nd floor heat pump system (air handler in attic, and corresponding outdoor compressor unit). Removal of similar pre-existing old units.
