We needed to update or replace the stairs on our deck. Deck Specialists went over several design ideas and estimates. We finally decided on an overall shape and length and tread. When it came time to start the work there were delays getting all the materials on site and the job took longer than planned. Once the frame of the steps was set up we discovered a problem with the location of the final step. Marlin was able to modify the design and improve on the plan without increasing the price, which shows he takes pride in his work. The final result looks great and we appreciate Marlin working through the changes. We are pleased with the final result and would recommend Deck Specialists.

Marlon (the owner) came out as per our appt. and gave an estimate. He was personable and engaging. His crew came on the appointed day & time but there was a problem with the lumber. So after site prep (had to move azaleas) he & his crew left. The lumber finally came but the order was incomplete.. But the driver unloaded where we asked and was courteous & professional. After more delay, another load came this time (another) driver dumped the load partially on the neighbors lawn, drove over my lawn leaving a deep rut and was argumentative because he did not feel it was his fault.(company - Pegram West). The rut was never repaired either by the lumber lard or the contractor. When the lumber finally arrived, the contractor built a well constructed deck as was detailed in the plan. the workmanship and attention to carpentry detail was very good. Clean-up was not as detailed oriented there were still wrappers & cups left behind, the waste from moving the azaleas and lots and lots of saw dust in the driveway. We are pleased with the workmanship and the final product we received and I suppose that there are always going to be delays in such a project but if issues like these can be overcome, this will be the better mousetrap that people will seek out.

Everything went as planned with no problems.

Company (Archideck) showed up to begin construction at time estimated (Feb 1st). Workers were highly cooperative and professional. Quality was exceptional. Product was built to last. We are very happy with final result.

They are experts at decks. They do an excellent job.

I contacted Marlon, the owner of Deck Specialist, after reading the excellent reviews that he received on Angie's List. Marlon met me at my home and showed me the different type of decking that is available now. He was very patient and thorough answering all my questions. The work was done very efficiently and thoroughly. They did an excellent job of cleaning up afterwards, too! We are very, very pleased and would most definitely recommend them. We will definitely use them in the future for other home improvement projects.

I found Deck Specialist on Angie's List and we contacted them plus two others. They had the best price for the work we wanted done. Marlon and his crew started on 8/6/12, They took down the existing deck and removed shrubs to make room for the new front porch and ramp that day. They started with replacing the back deck first. They installed stairs that went from the back deck down to yard. When they got the back deck and stairs pretty much done, they began on the front. The side deck was the last to work on. They worked for two weeks (with the exception of two days, which we were told about). They completed the front porch and ramp today, 8/25, and gave the whole deck the finishing touches. A gate was also installed at the top of the ramp. Our new deck looks wonderful and is so sturdy. We are so pleased. Marlon also repaired a few loose shingles on our roof and reset a fence post that had come loose from the concrete. Their work is outstanding along with their professionalism, work ethic, and friendliness! They have our highest recommendation!

Marion Trippet is the owner. They were outstanding. It was a good price. I would rate them an A all the way down the line.

As usual, everything was done with no issues. I have used Marlon before to repair our roofs, install 2 new decks and a variety of other carpentry work. His work is wonderful, prices more than competative and most importantly he is there when he says he is going to be there. Everything went off with no issues or surprises. You won't be disappointed with his work and he does know a lot of other contractors who do everything else he cant handle. Marlon had his HVAC guy come over and like Marlon, he was knowledgeable, gave me great pricing, fast installation and I couldnt be happier. It's nice to find contractors who care about doing the job properly.

They were wonderful to work with and they had great ideas. They did everything in a professional and timely manner. We would use them again in a heartbeat.

Marlon was very upfront about what needed to be done with both the front porch and the back deck. We originally called about the back deck only and thought that possible only one board on the front porch was rotted. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case so we decided to have both done at the same time. Both jobs took about 3 full days,(due to weather issues), but one extra day was needed to paint the entire front porch. Marlon and his crew worked well and both the deck and porch look great. We did need to call to have some leftover wood picked up, but that was minor. We are very pleased with the results.

Marlon and his crew were a real pleasure to work with. He gave us a very nice estimate and then went above and beyond to get the deck looking like new. Our house was under contract after only 3 days on the market in large part because of how nice the deck looks. When the buyers home inspector disputed a couple of minor things with the construction (ticky tack and cosmetic as best I could tell), Marlon made the modifications rather than argue with the inspector and slow down the sale. Despite the additional work, the estimate was the price (except for some agreed upon changes). I found Deck Specialists to be extremely fair, reliable and easy to work with. We will be using them again on the new house!

HE DOES EXCELLENT WORK, EVERYTHING FROM BUILDING DECKS TO STRIPPING AND RE-FINISHING THEM. HE MADE MY DECK LOOK JUST LIKE NEW AGAIN, AND THAT IS SAYING SOMETHING.
