About us

We are local custom cabinetmakers specializing in high end cabinetry at affordable pricing. Our cabinets are all wood, face frame construction (no particle board or vinyl covering) with dovetail drawers, high quality runners and hardware,and special design features. We provide specialty finishes along with an unlimited selection of stain colors. One of the major advantages of our true custom cabinets is that we build to the exact measurements required, utilizing all the space available without using fillers. No space is wasted, even in angles. We custom build all forms of cabinetry including kitchens, baths, entertainment centers, wet bars, mantles and various furniture items. We are family owned and operated by Father, Son, and Grandson. We have been designing and building custom cabinets since 1986 and pride our self on our customer service. We take as much pride in our custom installation as we do in building your cabinets. We offer free design consultation without obligation.

During a recent renovation to repair a rotted bathroom, I decided to change out the inexpensive vanity with another of the same design. I could not find another with the exact type of toe-kick drawer, so I hired the Wards to build a custom piece. They were extremely professional, listened to my requests and built a beautiful 30and quot; bathroom vanity. They custom mixed a stain to match the hardwood floors in my house. It was three months before I finally got the vanity installed, (I stored it in a shed while I was waiting) as the renovation job was delayed, but the vanity is installed now, and is perfect. The attention to detail is appreciated. The Wards were able to squeeze every bit of storage space you can possibly fit into a 30and quot; cabinet into this one. I picked this vanity up from their shop and was totally impressed with the facilities they have.

Prompt with quote and very careful to ensure that the custom plan was what I wanted. We scheduled a day and they arrived in the morning and worked most of the day. I am very pleased with the quality of the bookshelves. Very pleased with the whole experience.

Perfect.. Several disigns were reviewed and changed until we all agreed on the look. They took it from there and when they were done the cabinets looked liked they had always been there. Perfect installation and clean-up.
Description of Work: Designed and built a full wall cabinet/ shelving around a fireplace with space for TV and components (hidden inside cabinents behind speaker cover). Top shelf with glass enclosed panels and rope lighting to add interest. Great work, great people!

They are fantastic. They are a good, honest family. Their price was very reasonable. They did not waste any space, on each side of the island in the middle of the kitchen, there was a 4" overlap which they built a spice rack and an area to hold medication. They also extended the countertop so there was an overhang so we could use the island as a bar.
Description of Work: They ripped out all of our kitchen cabinets and installed new, custom, cabinets.

He was very good and helped us with some suggestions. He made up a plan and had us approve it before proceeding. He showed us how certain things would be built. He is very good at woodworking and can do about anything. He did such a great job and would recommend him to anyone. He does beautiful work.

He came on time to install. The installer was his son and one helper. Randy Ward is a craftsman like his dad. He worked at a steady pace and did a great job. He was very careful with his preparation and did not disturb anything in our home during the install. The install took two full days. He cleaned up at the end of each day. We are very happy with every aspect of our new cabinets.The design that he drew up took advantage of every inch of space and the cabinets were perfect. They exceeded our expectation.My golf friend said he had 5 different companies come out and went with Cabinets By Design and was very happy. We did not get another bid after talking with Bud and going out to his shop and home. We knew if his quote was in our budget we were sold. This was a great experience. Bud was easy to work with and the install went like clockwork. I would recommend Cabinets By Design to anyone.
Description of Work: Cabinets By Design was recommended by a fellow golfer who was very happy with the total experience. We made an appointment with Bud Ward the owner for 6 o'clock and he was right on time. He listened to what we were thinking and then we ask his opinion and he made some suggestions. He is a professional cabinet maker and he has installed his custom made cabinets in homes of all price ranges. He showed us some pictures and we talked and told him what we wanted. He took detailed measurements and said that they would use a computer aided design program to detail what we wanted and he would call us when they were ready. He called and we went to his shop to see the construction of cabinets he was building at that time. His shop is on his property and so we went to his home where he showed us examples of his kitchen and bath cabinets, the type of closers and hardware available and how it felt to use.We sat down and went over the options and went home to look at the drawings in our kitchen.
