 + -1 moreI hired Galloway and Sons to build my custom home. I told them my price and was advised to chose a different plan to fit within my budget. Things went well at first. I was advised to make some choices that were better for them in labor and bad for me in the long run. When Ernest Galloway was on the scene, everyone worked hard. When I would show up at the work site and he was not there the guys would not be working. I had a deadline on losing my loan, which everyone was aware of. Work almost did not get completed. When my house was 90% done, I closed and Ernest Galloway signed with the bank that he was paid in full. The day after closing, His wife who was in charge of the cost, and him showed up at my home and said they went over $30,000. I borrowed the money and paid them so they would finish. A week later they wanted $26,000 more. They were also supposed to reimburse me for the light fixtures and appliances. I refused to pay any more. They would not finish the remaining work. Not only did they not reimburse me, they hassled me for a year for the extra money. Not professional at all. I ended up spending money to have someone finish and had no warranty on the house. I was never able to pay all the debt off and it ruined my perfect credit. Bad company
Description of Work: I hired Galloway and sons to build my custom home. They were in charge of the complete project including retaining sub contractors for the work they could not perform.

 + -1 moreWe had numerous problems and since the house is not finished there is no 'overall'.
Description of Work: Galloway and Sons led us along for a year. They over billed, double billed, didn't show up for work, about everything you can imagine. I hate to write this report since I thought that we all had become friends. The house is still not done after some 15 months! Bottom line, these guys are nice but grossly unsophisticated. They don't follow directions and don't listen. They refused to get an accountant (mom does it) and it is a travesty. Penciled in numbers, totals are added up correctly, items are double billed and absolutely nothing is itemized. Even after meetings with our attorney, they acted remotely professional for a week, then it was back to old school. They finally just haven't showed up, haven't returned calls. Enough is enough.
