They are all nice people, but less-than-great contractors. Modular construction a good concept, but they fell short on execution. They seem to use very poor subs and don't supervise them. They set the "boxes" and then failed to get them sealed (for weeks) so we had a lot of water damage from the weather. It took over a year for this modular (which is basically complete when it arrives) go be move-in ready. Promises were made and never kept. We finally gave up on getting them to complete the punch list and just did it ourselves. Now, 6 years later, we are still finding things we need to fix. We had a lot of similar problems to the review dated 6/10/2012.

In general, we are pleased with most aspects of the home. While we believe our contact at Cash was an honorable person, the choice of subcontractors used was based solely on cost and not quality. I say I would recommend them, BUT I would be very careful in making sure who the subcontractors are and I have to say, I'm not too impressed with the finish work they did on the second floor - they cheaped out on a lot of things - doors aren't level, the trim is cheap (not wood), the tub is cheap fiberglass. The priming at the factory was poorly done and many areas had to be sanded before being painted and none of the doors are right. The positives: They worked very hard in a tight schedule to get us into our house on time, every question/concern was answered, they were responsive to all calls, they did their best to look for the best pricing on everything to keep costs down without downgrading the quality of the products we chose (flooring, tile, fixtures, etc.). The negative: their choice of contractors and lack of responsiveness on our septic system problems. 1. The plumbers who installed our shower had to redo the guts of the spa shower before tile work could begin. After the tile was done, the spa jets in the shower were not level. The tile subcontractor, who should have stopped immediately when he realized the jets were not level, had to come back, rip out the tiles, wait for the plumbers to redo their work (and sadly, the plumbers couldn't see that the jets were not level, I had to get a level to show them what was pretty obvious to everyone else). The jets are still not perfectly level. We also asked that the plumbers made sure that the collars were resealed - they did not. We had to do that. The water temperature controller is upside down. We probably could have asked them to come back to fix, but because they proved to be clearly lacking in quality control, we don't want them back here.2. The flooring/tile subcontactor was excellent, for the most part. He worked non-stop to make sure the floors and tiling were installed and he did a great job. Two issues - the first being that he should have stopped tiling the shower when he saw that the jets weren't level. He also did a stacked stone wall for a gas log stove in our living room. He was given instructions by the installer on how to work the fittings into the stone work, but didn't. It's useable, no one would probably know it was done incorrectly, so all in all, this subcontractor did a fantastic job.3. The subcontractor for excavating and septic work was horrible. The grading is terrible, dirt should have been brought in when we asked for it and it wasn't. The septic system had to be replaced a year after moving in.4. The painting subcontractor did a great job on the exterior. He primed the second floor, but all they did was spit some primer on the walls. Unimpressive. 5. Siding: hardy plank very well done. Aluminum along roof lines buckling. Punch list item never addressed. 6. The subcontractor who was used to do the punch list work was a joke. We are still waiting for him to return emails months later. He would come buy for an hour or two, do some work, say he was coming back later that day or the next day and not show up for weeks, if at all. I'm still waiting for work on the outside to be done, a load of dirt to be delivered, and to be able to use the deadbolts on the home after he installed weather stripping to make the doors more airtight, but never bothered to make sure the locks were still operable (and we can still see sunlight pouring in around the door frame). This list can go on and on.
