Description of Work: They came out and looked at my old piano. After a thorough analysis we determined it would be too much and too risky to service.

Description of Work: Started as a basic tuning that quickly turned to an advanced tuning, which was not a surprise to us. Great advise was offered about services for future maintenance of our piano. Our piano has made the transition from one that was used for hours everyday to one that is rarely used except when the grandkids now 'play' on it.

Description of Work: Have used several piano tuners and liked all of them. |Tried Barnes and they were by far the best! The piano tuning was probably the best I had immediately after the tuning and has held up the best even with frequent playing and change in seasonal humidity. The tuner really took their time and clearly had a passion for their work & playing.

Description of Work: Tim is great. Have used him for several years. He has recommended a pin block repair, but has never been pushy. I knew it was time so I had Tim perform a tuning and pin block repair. He was great in explaining to our kids all of the ins and outs of the piano - Tim is very patient.

Description of Work: Tim has tuned our piano 3 or 4 times in the last 6 years. The first time it required extensive tuning and tone adjustment because of years of going without tuning (after our previous tuner had retired) and improper humidity conditions in the house. | |Tim explained the necessity of keeping the humidity level in the 40-50% range. Subsequently we purchased a newer (higher capacity) dehumidifier to assist air-conditioning in moisture removal from our home. The older unit we had just was not doing the job because it did not have a continuous-run fan and did not have percentage humidity set points. | |We were astonished at the amount of water removed from the house... good for the piano, the air quality, and our health. | |Tim does excellent work... very knowledgeable and professional.

Description of Work: Tuned our piano. I bought the $99 tuning deal, but had to spend another $220 once the technician got here because the piano hadn't been tuned in so long.

Description of Work: Tuned piano. After evaluating piano, he said it needed more tuning than the deal I pre-purchased and it would cost an additional $130. Seemed very knowledgeable about pianos and provided an email copy of the piano evaluation after the appointment. Happy with the service, the piano sounds good. The only negative was that it took a long time to get an appointment.

Description of Work: Tim performed a standard tuning, as well as a cleaning and pitch adjustment, and spliced or replaced 3 broken strings. Tim is a consummate professional and a pleasure to work with. He is obviously incredibly knowledgable about his craft and takes the time to make sure the job is done right and to explain what he is doing. He did a great job on a piano that had not been tuned in a very long time and was painfully out of tune. It sounds like a different instrument. I couldn't be happier and highly recommend Barnes!

Description of Work: Bought this prepaid through Angies list, Made special arrangements to meet the time I needed as it was so close to Christmas. Was very honest in the condition (poor) of our piano. Would use him again!
