Fantastic!! We had a large project involving other contractors, which they coordinated. The first crew to show up was the pier crew. They were very professional and personable. They explained everything from start to finish and kept me in the loop throughout the process. They leveled our kitchen, which had a large sag. The next crew to arrive was the encapsulation crew. They covered the crawlspace from top to bottom and installed a dehumidifier with a moisture meter we can read in the house. Our crawlspace is now the nicest, cleanest, whitest and largest room in the house! I take my shoes off when I go under the house now. It's so nice, because it's now a controlled environment and I can work under there without having to change my clothes when I come out. Moisture has been reduced from 83% to as low as 30%. This improvement with the mold remediation, new HVAC and duct work, and air cleaner created an allergy free environment in our home. It was by far the best home improvement we have made so far (and we've made a lot!!!). I definitely recommend this team and will use them again if needed for any future projects.

The overall experience was very poor and I would never recommend to anyone that they use this company, or at least this sales person. I first contacted Dry-Pro on 9/2/2010 and scheduled an appointment with Doug Copeland to meet me at my home a week later. 2 to 3 weeks passed and I never heard back from Doug with a report, recommendation or proposal so I finally reached out to him. It was quite obvious he had not written anything up because when I called I had to remind him of who I was and what he came out for. He stumbled through the conversation pointing out general observations and thoughts that would be applicable to most any home (nothing specific to mine). Then went on to say that he really wanted one of his structural engineers to come out and assess the 'settling' situation. This took a couple of weeks to get scheduled. I felt that the structural engineer knew what he was talking about but unsure whether he ever circled back around with Doug to discuss next steps. Anyway, still to this day 2.5 months later I still have not received any type of report, proposal, or set of recommendations. I reached out to Doug one more time and he said I was on his list to call that day (sure I was!) and went on to say he would develop a proposal with recommendations that were prioritized. I still never received anything. This company is obviously not hurting for business if they can afford to alienate potential customers that they call on. Needless to say, I'm extremely disappointed in this company, lack of professionalism, and follow through and especially this salesperson for wasting my time thinking that he might know what he's talking about.
Description of Work: I contacted Dry-Pro Systems for their free consultation offer to provide me with an assessment of my foundation crawlspace as I was experiencing some settling/cracks between my hardwood flooring on the first floor of my house. In addition, I asked them to test for and let me know if I had a humidity problem in my crawl space.

Response from Dry Pro Foundation and Crawlspace Specialists
My name is Ron Weatherly and I am very disappointed that the above customer had this experience and it is not typical for our company. The specialist that is referred to above is no longer with the company ( he is on a extended leave of absence and if I could explain what happened here with Doug then nothing else would need to be said). Doug was a great employee for over seven years unfortunately he had some personal problems with his family and he was not able to perform his job any longer. I will reach out to the above customer with an apology and asking if I can personally help in any way. We have since added a customer service person that his only job is to call and communicate with customers to confirm this never happens again. If you look at all of your other reports it is easy to see that this is not typical and something was amiss. I will take full responsibility for this experience. I am always available to anyone that would like to discuss any topic that is related to our company, please call me on my cell phone 704 678 7747. Thank you for your time in reading this explanation.

We called Dry Pro after our exterminator service provider indicated that the humidity level in our crawl space was over 90% at his last bi-monthly visit. He indicated that this would cause problems with mold and possibly ruin our insulation and damage our joists. I am someone who keeps our air conditioning in the house at a very cool temp (and that won't change!), and we determined that it was contributing to the problem due to the condensation from the ductwork and the high heat and humidity of the summer. Since we had just had major work done last summer replacing our HVAC system, installing new duct work and insulation, we felt we had to get this problem taken care of. We used Angie's List and determined that we would have Dry Pro come out for an assessment. Unfortunately we had to wait over two weeks for an appointment because they were so busy due to the high heat and humidity this summer. However, on the day of the appointment, Scott was on time and provided a detailed explanation of possible remedies. We elected to go with the dehumidifier, sealing our vents, and encapsulation of the crawl space with the thickest poly available. Prior to the installation, we had a dry-out procedure carried out over two weeks because it was so damp. Then on Aug. 30 and 31, a crew came to do the installation. They were efficient and cleaned up completely as they worked. In the process of doing the procedure, they found two minor leaks in our copper piping, so we were able to get those repaired before we had a major problem. Once completed, the crawl space is now dry and looking pristine. Our plumber was very happy when he came to make our repairs...such a nice place to work! Cons: I felt like the procedure for the dry-out prior to the encapsulation was too expensive for what was done. Basically they put out four box fans in the corners of the crawl space and a temporary dehumidifier which had a line running out of the crawl space. The charge was $350 for that. If I had known that was what was involved, I might have elected to try and do that myself, although I don't know if I could have found a dehumidifier. And they didn't even leave the box fans for me, even though they were new!!! They also closed off the vents, but did not seal them during this process, although they did when the encapsulation was done. Pros: The entire system seems to be working well...we have a small unit in the house where we can monitor the humidity level underneath the house, and so far we are happy. Although we probably paid a little more than we expected, I am pleased with the work that was done. We are very hopeful that this procedure will finally take care of the humidity problem underneath our house.
Description of Work: We had a dehumidifier and sump pump installed, the crawl space vents closed and sealed shut, and heavy duty poly installed on the ground and up the sides of the piers and foundation of our crawl space.

Everything went perfectly. My house doesn't smell moldy anymore and it even cut down on my heating and air conditioning bills. They did a great job.
Description of Work: Crawl space was dripping from moisture, two kinds of mold, wood starting to root. They removed all insulation, cleaned complete crawl space with antimold agents. Put in new insultation, french drain around the perimeter of crawl space, sump pump, dehumidifier and plastic barrier on floor and walls.

Their presentation was fantastic and I really wanted to use them. They wanted to give me a plastic coating which they guaranteed for 20 years but I wanted a more durable product. I felt that they would have done a great job. They were tops in terms of punctuality too. They were informative and gave me study material; they gave me a booklet which allowed me to study all facets of crawl space waterproofing. I learnt things I never would have known had I not gotten them to give me an estimate. I would have easily nominated them for a superior service award and would have used them in a heartbeat.

They took photos of what they found to be a problem in the crawl space. They showed me the photos on a laptop during their visit and explained the issues they identified. They gave realistic options on what could be done to resolve the issues. They did not try to sell me a make-shift fix. They did not charge me anything for spending 2 hours onsite for their inspection, even though I offered to pay them. They were on time, repectful and really cared about giving good accurate advice. The damage was extensive, so they recommended working with a contractor instead of using their services only. I had one of their competitors come and recommend a partial fix that I am now convinced would have been a waste of money and not solved the problem. I would highly recommend calling Dry Pro. They went above and beyond.
Description of Work: Dry Pro sent 2 people to assess the crawl space and give expert opinion on the good and the bad of what they saw. The house was built in about 1910.

Just recently I fired my long time termite inspector for never giving a report only a bill. The new inspector said I had no termites but my crawl space was one of the most damaged he had seen from moisture. The company he worked for did multitude of home inspection/repair/remediation issues. His meter showed levels in floor joints 5 times what they should be. Plus the wood was rotten to the touch. No meter needed. He did not get the job as his company did not have DryPro?s reputation . I knew my crawl space was unattractive but was not aware of the extent moisture could harm wood. I am an engineer and knew nothing about moisture damage. I have been taught to first define the problem. First problem, was I told the truth? I never even heard of dampness in crawlspace being a structural concern and I am in my 60s. I started by having many people look at this crawl space to see if it was really that bad. All firms said I had a really damaged one. You could ask if they all were looking for work, and just said it was bad. No for two reasons. You could tear the wood apart with your hands in many spots and I had a estimator from firm that repairs extremely expensive homes in Charlotte tell me the damage was not only extensive but he was not comfortable repairing that extent of damage. One outfit wanted to repair but said they could not work around my heat pump and said it would have to be moved out of crawl space and replaced. Allot money there to destroy unnecessarily a heat pump! Another wanted to do wood but had no one with certification in mold remediation in their firm. One wanted to set up dehumidifier system based on recirculation of crawl space air to house air. I understand that some amount of crawl space air comes up top into house but this was not what I wanted. I wanted a system to fix crawl space humidity not depending on house humidity. This was based on Internet study, discussion with people and my personal preference. I gave them the contract. DryPro is highly rated on Angies List and has it all. Moisture Control, wood repair, mold testing, installation of drainage system. When complete, I expressed concern as to whether they got all the damage and they knew with the extent of damage I wanted proof it was fixed. They already knew a professional engineering firm they used and set up an inspection to certify that damage was corrected fully (ie: PE stamp, real engineer). The PE stamp and report is well beyond the building inspector requirements. I felt the damage in my case was bad enough that I wanted it as proof. The building inspector (per law) still looked at house as required but that was not as critical in my opinion. I finally got around to looking at crawl space the other day. I was offered a look earlier but was that confident it was OK that I waited. That is a high level of trust. My look today showed it is perfect in my opinion. I got to know Dry Pro people pretty well. They are great people. I told Ron the owner of business to use me as a reference. I really appreciate what DryPro did for me. If you are lucky enough to not have the amount of damage I had and have a damp crawl space perhaps you crawl humidity can be fixed with allot less hassle. Footnote: It is good that I did not need to sell my house anytime in the last 10 years as the house would never have passed the required county inspections. I don't think may homeowers will purchase your home with major floor joist/.wood issues
Description of Work: Replaced the damaged wood in my crawl space, got rid of the mold in crawl space and inside house, put in a system to get rid of crawl space humidity in future. I have meter in house that shows both humidity and temperature of crawl space. I have an alarm system to tell me if there is a problem with pumping water out of crawl space. Plus the crawl space is sealed to limit the outside air coming in. My duct work was cleaned and some was so damaged it required replacement.

It looked so good when they were finished that if I were two feet tall I could have had a party down there. They did all of the work in one day. The project manager did an excellent job of understanding my concerns and revising estimates to address the key problem in the most cost-effective manner. Further, the installation crew was especially mindful of our home. Despite a terribly messy job, they left little if any trace of their work. They even helped me with curbside carry-out of trash and yard waste!
Description of Work: Installed a drain system with sump pump on the interior of the foundation crawl space. Additionally, removed debris from the crawl space, pressure washed a small basement area caked with clay mud from a surface water run-off problem, & replaced a failed sump pump in the small basement area.

A+ Excellent experience from start to finish. Kevin inspected our crawl space and said that overall everything looked good (no mold, etc.). He said the water was coming from a leak in our air conditioner's condenser pipe (which was in the crawl space) which we didn't realize had a problem. Hence, we will be getting that leak repaired.

Our house had settled due to the drought last year. Ron's crew did a great job installing three helical piers to correct the situation and stabilize the house. They also installed waterproofing in our crawl space, completely covering the ground and up the sides of the foundation, according to the prevailing way of thinking for keeping moisture out of the house. Ron had told us that cracks would appear for up to a year while the house stabilized, but it was very upsetting to wait a year, have those cracks repaired and paint our walls only to have many more cracks appear a month later. True to their guarantee, Ron had the cracks repaired and walls repainted after removing some of the waterproofing from the crawl space. Ron and his crews are THE BEST, and Judy is great to work with over the phone.

In monitoring the crawl space humidity I was forced to call Dry Pro twice when above baseline crawl space humidity was discovered. The second call to Dry Pro was in September, 2008. The Dry Pro owner eventually presented, found a failed dehumidifier and NEW MOLD GROWTH on the joists above his dehumidifier and radiating out from that area ( the dehumidifier had spilled water throughout the immediate dehumidifier area) he then informed me that in his estimation this mold was simply a regrowth of the mold my home inspector had discovered and that I should have it removed. He offered to sell me a new dehumidifier, refused to admit that his "system" was at fault and departed. Please note that his warranty guarantees a humidity level which would preclude mold growth. He showed no interest in honoring his written warranty. My advice to any consumer contemplating using the Dry Pro system is to protect yourself by having Dry Pro guarantee to remove any mold growth at THEIR expense should their system fail as it did in my situation....and get this promise IN WRITING.....Dry Pro should feel strongly that their system is "bullet-proof" so this additional stipulation to their customers should not prove to be a problem for them and, it's only fair! I did not enter ALL details here in the interest of brevity but would be more than happy to discuss my situation with anyone contemplating hiring Dry Pro as their contractor.
Description of Work: Crawl space encapsulation to prevent mold growth. My new home inspector found mold in one corner of my home's crawl space...this prompted a call to Dry Pro (a Yellow Page's referral). I informed Dry Pro that mold existed in a corner of the crawl space and requested that they notify me if they found any evidence of mold during their inspection. I had the mold removed prior to encapsulation and informed the Dry Pro representative of same. Dry Pro encapsulated the crawl, placed a dehumidifier and a sump pump system and a humidity sensor which sent humidity readings to a kitchen mounted receiver. I purchased their periodic inspection plan as insurance against new mold growth.

CLEARLY WE DID A POOR JOB OF COMMUNICATING TO THE ABOVE CUSTOMER THAT THERE WAS MOLD PREVIOUSLY IN THE CRAWLSPACE AND I WILL TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THAT HOWEVER I DO HAVE A SIGNED STATEMENT FROM THE CUSTOMER THAT THE HOME INSPECTORS REPORT SIGHTED MOLD IN THE CRAWLSPACE PREVIOUSLY. THIS CUSTOMER CALLED A MOLD REMEDIATION COMPANY TO COME OUT AND PROVIDE AN INSPECTION AND OF COURSE THE COMPANY TOLD HIM THAT HE NEEDED A FULL REMEDIATION BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT THEY DO FOR A LIVING SELL MOLD. IF HE WOULD HAVE CALLED A MOLD TESTING COMPANY THEY WOULD HAVE TOLD HIM THAT THE MOLD UNDER THE CRAWLSPACE WAS ONLY A 3 ON A SCALE OF 1 TO 10 AND THAT THE MOLD WAS ONLY IN CERTAIN AREAS. THE CUSTOMER ALSO LEFT OUT THAT WHEN WE INSTALLED THE SYSTEM BACK IN 2005 WE WERE NOT TRYING TO FIX A GROUND WATER PROBLEM HOWEVER WHEN IT RAINED WATER WAS GETTING INTO THE CRAWLSPACE. AT OUR COST WE INSTALLED A DRAIN SYSTEM AND A NEW PUMPING SYSTEM THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN AT ADDITIONAL COST BUT IT WAS A LITTLE QUESTIONABLE SO WE TOOK CARE OF IT. I AM THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY AND I CAN SLEEP AT NIGHT BECAUSE I KNOW THAT WE HAVE DONE AN OUTSTANDING JOB TAKING CARE OF OUR CUSTOMERS BASE AND OUR REPUTATION STANDS BY ITSELF. PLEASE CALL ME DIRECTLY IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS MATTER. RON WEATHERLY

I was expecting a crew in the morning but got a phone call that they had been delayed on another job. I was asked if I could postpone the service until the following day. When I indicated that I would be unavailable, the office located a manager and crew and they arrived soon thereafter. The job was completed within approximately four hours. I do not anticipate any problem, but I won't know until the next rain. The office manager has been prompt in checking on the job and called after completion to let me know if there were any problem that I should call them immediately.
Description of Work: When I first called, Kevin Sanders, representing the company, came the next day to give me an estimate. I had already had 200 gallons of water pumped from under my house. He crawled under the house, told me the problem and gave me an estimate. I told him I had another option and I would let him know if I decided to use Dry-Pro. There was no pressure and no obligation. I decided that Dry-Pro was my best option. Dry Pro removed a non-functioning sump pump and replaced it with a larger, more efficient system. Water was standing in my crawl space and they siphoned it out as well.

They did a very nice job! They come every year to do service on it. They came when they said they would and were very efficient. They have taken care of my mold problem and I am very satisfied.
Description of Work: They did a complete basement water proofing in my crawl space. They closed out all the vents, put plastic down, and installed a draining system which included a sump pump. They also put in a dehumidifier.
