We had a seriously soggy backyard because of several springs coming down the mountain behind it. Jake dug out a creek and hand laid riprap in it. Then used a backhoe to place large boulders to hold the hillside in place. Jake is a great guy, very professional and easy to talk to. We will be using him to install pavers for a patio and driveway in the next month or two. He is always on the job and is a hands on guy. He has a great, hard working helper and calls in other workers to the job when needed.

He was recommended by a civil engineer and I couldn't be happier with the quick response and his overall performance. He maintained an orderly, efficient jobsite and I have no suggestion to improve his performance.

This project turned out to be a challenge! The trenches were to connect with an existing drain on the far side of the driveway, but when they dug out the trench and got to the drain it was higher and could not be used (no way to tell this from the top of the concrete pad). So another trench then had to be dug going in opposite direction and then down driveway to take away the water. Then when the trench was opened along side of house it was found that the band above sill had rotted out due to moisture. We had to stop the drain work until someone could come in and replace the band. Fortunately the sill was treated so did not suffer rot. Jake has good ideas and suggested using the river rock instead of putting asphalt back on top of drain, it looks great and was less expensive. Catch basin is a sound idea environmentally as the water from downspouts traveling down drain pipe is allowed to soak into ground rather than run out into the creek. The pavers not only look wonderful and break up the expanse of concrete, but also allow rain to sink in, rather than puddle, and then be carried along trenches to catch basin. Jake and his crew did a great job and really worked hard to make this project turn out well despite the unexpected problems encountered and at each change I was given updated estimate of cost. I was very impressed by the crew's skill and work ethic, also the way they cleaned up every day always putting all the tools etc.away and leaving no trash. Because they had to stop in the middle of the work for several weeks due to the house issues they had to move on to another project already scheduled. But they came back on a cold and rainy day to get the pavers completed so my husband could put the siding back on the house rather than make us wait. That is service! I cannot say enough good things about these guys.
