I encountered a long delay in one particular project that prevented all work on my remodel to continue. Seven weeks later all issues have been resolved, budget reworked and was anxious to have the room drywalled so the project could be completed by end of Oct. I placed a call to Mr. Wilson and got a message that the call could not be completed due to "call restrictions". Since my cell number is set to let the other caller see my number, it was not an issue of "unknown" caller....my phone number had been blocked....ouch! I obviously took it personally and was pretty unsettled by the situation. I can only believe this gentleman did not want the job or took a personal disliking to me...not sure what other possibilities there are. I have encountered several small companies that do not return calls after giving estimates and showing interest in the project and I find that immensely unprofessional. It only takes a tactful manner in declining and saves the other person precious time. I am truly disappointed and now have to find a substitute which will take more time and delay this further.
Description of Work: Through Angieslist.com, I called several drywall companies for an estimate on drywalling a bath remodel. Mr. Wilson responded to my request for an estimate quickly and arrived on time. Since I was supplying all the materials, he asked what had been purchased and suggested other materials that would also be needed to complete the drywall properly. I made a list of the materials and he gave me a breakdown on labor and an estimated job duration. I liked Mr. Wilson and his professional manner and decided at that moment I would like to hire him for the project. Upon his departure, I told him I would call him when the other projects were complete and drywalling could begin. I then purchased the materials requested the following day.

We contacted Scott about 6 weeks out after getting several quotes for replacing the water stained, spackled ceiling with new drywall. We were confident after talking to him that the ceiling could be scraped and new mud applied at a much lower cost than new drywall and, with minimal mess. Scott arrived on Wednesday morning and taped up plastic to protect the rock wall fireplace and other areas. He scraped approximately 650 square feet of ceiling the first day and applied a coat of mud. The second day he finished applying mud and on Friday he sanded using a vacuum sander. There was a fine coat of dust left behind but nothing our central vac wouldn't pick up with a good once over. We did have to vacuum the walls and all surfaces. After being told by contractors and designers that new drywall over the old was the way to go, we are glad we put our trust in Scott. The ceilings look great! We will prime with a coat of Kilz tinted to the ceiling color we chose, then apply a coat of flat paint. The Kilz will prevent the water stains from coming through. I would recommend Scott to anyone who wants a quality job at a fair price. It was a pleasure having him here and we will hire him again when we complete the remodel of our home. His experience was our gain.
Description of Work: Scott scraped our 1970's spackle ceiling, applied two coats of drywall mud then sanded to a smooth finish.
