+ -1 moreFantastic! I would recommend Straight Edge to anyone. Very professional in communications, punctuality and competence. Provided a detailed estimate within one day of seeing the house. Was understanding about color changes and other questions. Did a gorgeous job of painting every room, ceiling, closet, baseboard and shelves. Fast work - entire house completed within 10 days. Price was very reasonable and half of other estimates. Straight Edge left the house cleaner than when they first arrived. No complaints at all.
Description of Work: Painted the entire interior of our new 22 year old home, about 2000 square feet. Also, removed popcorn from ceilings.

+ -1 moreThe cleaner did a meticulous job, including extra rinsing of the windows that left most of them sparkling clean. In addition to the siding looking really good, the gutters no longer look grubby and dark from dirt accumulations. Although we had to reschedule due to a brief equipment problem, the cleaner came early the next morning and worked steadily with just a break for lunch. I was asked to check for satisfactory results and it was all good. They patiently answered my many questions before the job began and I am delighted with the results. I have had Straight Edge do extensive interior painting in the past and now I can add power washing to the list of things they excel at.
Description of Work: We had Straight Edge power wash the exterior of our house and also our large back deck.

On the day of painting, he was at my door one minute early and worked hard until job was completed. The powder room in particular was not an easy job and I am extremely pleased with the finished product. Great job. Good communication. Excellent craftsmanship. Happy homeowner.
Description of Work: Powder room had holes patched, Kilz applied and then 2 or 3 coats of paint. Nail holes patched in den and one wall and two sections were painted.

+ -1 moreI was supposed to have been given a discount for using them before Christmas and being an Angie's List member. There was no communication on this or if it was even done. They recommended and had someone come in for an estimate for wall paper removal, he came and gave estimate, did come in a do the work. They were only able to work at night and this was hard for our schedule, and this was not clarified beforehand. I felt like they did a terrible job with the quality of the work. They would not come out to make adjustments, without charging me. I have to hire someone else to come out and fix all the problems. I would not recommend them to anyone.

+ -1 moreEstimate was prompt, detailed, accurate, and availability was good as timing was sensitive for my project. Fine work by Straight Edge crew. Worked through on July 4th which I didn't think was necessary. Made decent ceiling repairs and stain blocked where some unsightly and crumbling surfaces were made to look pretty nice. Add-on jobs (painting louvered closet doors, additional ceiling repair) were accomplished affordably and without much ado. Clean up went pretty well, and even though a black bear expressed some interest/curiosity in the paint and supplies, these were well planned for, with some leftover for touchup etc., but not too much. Overall a pretty smart job at a competitive rate, done when I needed it done.
Description of Work: repainted walls and ceilings in 3 br, hallway, large high vaulted dining room/living room, repair cracks in drywall and ceiling in numerous places.

+ -1 more. The job took two days to complete, which is what they had estimated. Josh showed up promptly each morning. He worked deligently and without any mishaps each day. Everything went just as promised and he helped us in making some decisions during the job. He cleaned up and vacumed the room when he was done. We were very pleased with work. Wish there were more Josh' out there to hire for other projects. I would highly recommed this company and will hire them again for other painting jobs.
Description of Work: Josh from Straight Edge Painting did work in our downstairs powder room. He removed wallpaper, then repaired walls where needed. He sealed walls, primed and painted. He also painted the trim work.

Sometimes it takes awhile to get on their project list, but in this case they happened to have an opening and got the work done within a week. They do such a good job, and take care to patch holes in the walls and other touch-ups necessary for great results. In this case, they painted several interior areas of a condominium I have listed for rent. Because I was on a budget, Jenna helped find a paint match that would provide a good paint job with only one coat (instead of two, which they did on my personal residence last year). The place looks great now. I've worked with many types of residential service people in the past (plumbers, electricians, handymen, painters, etc) and can give my highest recommendation for Straight Edge Painting to anyone who needs painting done. I just hope they don't get so popular I have to get on a long wait list next time I need them!

+ -1 moreWe've had bad experiences in the past with painters who rushed through the jobs and often made excuses for not showing up as promised. Paint residue was left on flooring, drips of paints clung to walls, and areas were not protected. We became leery after such bad experiences. However, after hiring Jenna Beasley, we now know we can be pleased with a job well done and realize there are capable, proficient contractors (at least we found one). The following describe her excellent capabilities: > punctual > didn't rush > very thorough > made needed repairs to assure uniformity of paint on walls > cleaned up messes > very neat paint job > assures customer satisfaction and quality work I recommend her to anyone who wants a job done right.
Description of Work: WOW!! I’ll never be hasty again giving compliments and reviews I later regret. When I wrote my write-up for Straight Edge work done by Jenna Beasley, it was right after she completed the job to our bathroom. The wow came from seeing an entirely new look from her paint job from the outdated wall paper. Yes, the paint job on the walls and cabinets pleased me. I did comment to her about the noticeable edging along the ceiling (approximately 1” or so in width and extending down the entire length of the ceiling) ) showing ripples. Past paintings to this ceiling were always smooth. At first she said they would smooth out. She offered to have a part-time helper fix the area (at an additional cost to me) and she would repaint the ceiling. Upon further investigation, I also noticed where the cabinet and backsplash attached to the wall revealed unsightly gaps that should have been filled with caulk which is essential to a professional paint job. Also visible behind the toilet was a glob of paint. My husband ended up doing finishing touches. Her outside contractor did come out and gave us an estimate and said he would call the following week as to when he could do the job. Never heard again from him or Jenna. Jenna Beasley was very personable which attributed to my selecting her without pursuing other contractors. She did a good paint job on the walls, but disappointed me with the ceiling and finishing touches. I feel it necessary to give this re-evaluation so I do not mislead anyone who might make a decision based on my first recommendation. PS I rewrote this months ago, but never saw it published. Hopefully this will get published!

Jenna came out to see what we wanted done and followed up with a very detailed professional estimate. We subsequently scheduled the work, which she indicated could be completed in one day. She recommended a paint and we purchased the estimated amount. The painting crew arrived on schedule (actually a bit early). After reviewing the work to be done, we left to go out of town for the day. We returned late in the day to find the job done - perfectly! We couldn't be any happier with the quality of the work and the reasonable price. We will definitely hire Jenna's crew again if we need work done and will enthusiastically recommend them to our friends.

+ 0 moreI have used this company various times over the past nine years that I've lived here. The biggest job they've done for me was paint the entire brick exterior of our house in 2011. They have also done other exterior and interior painting jobs of varying size. In all cases I have been impressed with their professionalism, courtesy, punctuality and the quality of their work. Every time I call with a question, they call me right back (not common in the world of contractors). They keep me updated on scheduling and progress on the jobs. Their employees are neat and respectful, do not make a mess, are quiet and easy to have around. They arrive on time and work hard. The estimates and final invoices make sensse and any additional work is clearly estimated in advance. Their pricing is very reasonable. They use quality materials that perform as promised. I cannot say enough positive things about this company and can wholeheartedly recommend them.

Jenna came out to give me an estimate and the job was started on the date she gave me. The crew (loved all of them) showed up at 9 every morning and worked all day long. It was so nice to have a company come in and do exactly what they said they would do. My 3500+ sq/ft house was painted in 4 days and this included sheetrock repairs and moving all furniture and draperies. I am now getting and estimate for the exterior and have truly enjoyed working with this company. I highly recommend them.

She followed through with a contract via e-mail, which I signed and sent back. We then set a date for the paining, and again, she and two other painters showed up right when they said they would. The did a very thorough job and I am very pleased. They are also very nice people. I will not hestiate to use them again and based on my positive experience, can easily give them my highest recommendation.

+ -1 moreI called Jenna and she came out to give an estimated within a day. She explained the materials they use, told us the process and got back to us within a day or so with the estimate. We were able to start our project after Thanksgiving, Jenna and her brother came out, removed the doors, sanded, primed and painted the cabinets over two days. We also had the wall behind the cabinets painted a contrasting color. Because of drying between coats and rehanging of the doors it took 3 half days but this was not a problem. They were professional, explained as they went, were neat and cleaned up each day. We were very happy with the results. It changed the whole look of our kitchen and we would recommend them to anyone.

Description of Work: I had several rooms that needed to be painted for this listing and the work was excellent. One of the rooms was very red and needed some touch up after the paint job was done. They cheerfully came back and fixed the problem and did not charge me extra.

+ 0 moreI had Straight Edge painting give me a quote to paint most of my house. Received the quote but needed to scale the project back a bit. The quote was done by room and they easily accommodated what rooms I was going to paint. They removed kitchen wallpaper, repaired the drywall and had to do some extra work as I was having new countertops installed at the same time and there was damage under the backsplash. The walls look great, they worked very fast, cleaned up every night before they left. They worked around the schedule for the countertop install. I was very happy with the work and the price. When I'm ready to do the additional rooms, I will definitely have them come back to do the work. Jenna, Matt and John were very personable, friendly and professional, I enjoyed having them in my home.
