On about June, 2022, we contracted with David Dumlu and Rebecca Geary of SARE Kitchen & Bath (also known as NYTE, Inc.) to remodel our kitchen, bar area, and our master bathroom. SARE began the work in February of 2023 and substantially completed the work in May of 2023. After SARE had completed its work in May of 2023, we realized SARE had not pulled a permit for the work performed. (A permit was required by law for a job of this size.) We had assumed that SARE would follow all applicable laws and regulations while working in our home. We applied for a retroactive permit in June of 2023 and had the kitchen and bath inspected by a city inspector. The city inspector viewed SARE’s work and confirmed that several items would need to be corrected to bring the work up to code. At this point, we realized SARE had failed to use a licensed electrician or plumber. We hired contractors to repair faulty work done by SARE, including a tile contractor to repair a hole in the floor in the bathroom under the bathtub. Additionally, we hired a licensed electrician to repair wiring and a licensed plumber to repair plumbing. After the initial repair work was completed in October of 2023, we noticed that the new shower in the master bath, part of SARE’s work, was leaking through the floor into the basement ceiling. (see included video) SARE had installed a Schulter tile system in the shower. We have had a Schulter representative inspect the work performed by SARE to see if Schulter would warranty the work. The inspection disclosed that the Schulter tile system was incorrectly installed by SARE. In fact, the tile was installed so incorrectly that we had to tear out the entire shower down to the studs and rebuild it. We requested that SARE pay for the repairs to our home and SARE offered to come inspect and repair the shower themselves. Based on the defective work SARE had done in the past and the fact that they’d broken the law when doing their initial work, we did not feel comfortable allowing SARE to do any more work in our home. The total costs of our repairs were $16,784.45. David Dumlu offered to pay us $3,061.60. As such, we are taking his company to court. I would recommend you learn from our mistakes. Attached photos show incorrectly constructed Schluter tile system, incorrectly completed electrical work, incorrect plumbing work, and our shower leaking through the floor into our basement.

The project started promising, but quickly became a disaster. Sare missed promised dates. The product was not the quality we anticipated. The installation was botched with multiple design and installation flaws. Their responses to our requests were unprofessional and unacceptable. Save yourself a major headache and run away from Sare. There are far better contractors who will give you the value you pay for.

We deeply regret hiring SARE to do a remodel of our kitchen. The quality of their work—from design to install to finishing—was terrible (drawers and countertops not measured/constructed/installed properly, damaged hinges, stain drips, unfilled holes from improper screwing, sharp nails protruding everywhere, drawers that didn’t close, etc). The worst part was that in trying to take shortcuts to fix their own mis-measurement of our countertop, they released a known toxic dust into our house without any effort to contain it or clean it up, doing who knows what long-term damage to our health and also leaving a permanent jagged edge. Their communication and coordination were equally as bad as their workmanship. A job that was supposed to take a week to complete took over six months and endless hours of frustration. The only thing positive I can say at this point is that we’re glad it’s finally over!

Not well. We had 3 bathrooms remodeled and most of the problems of the first two were fixed including fixing the broken mirror that the workers broke . His workers are careless and do show up until late in the day around 4 pm in the afternoon.
Description of Work: His workers put plumbing holes in the back of my $ 1400 dollar cabinets in the wrong place and to cover it up they nailed rough board in the back of the cabinets without telling me . They will not replace my cabinets and one of the cabinet does not match the other doors. doors.

Initially, the remodel went well and the finished product looked good at first glance. David and Ray, the owners were very attentive at the beginning of the project. Once they received their money, many of our phone calls went unanswered and unreturned. After a few weeks, the tile floor started coming up so Ray sent a flooring contractor (not the one who installed the tile) to take a look. He was quite concerned, called Ray from our house and said the whole floor had been installed incorrectly and needed to be redone. Ray, came over within the next few days and said he could fix the floors by using a different type of grout. Ray applied the grout himself; it was darker, looked awful and started peeling within weeks. Over time, the tile in certain areas began popping up again and my husband and I went to see David in the showroom. He assured us that everything would be taken care of, but we never heard from him. I must point out that they were always prompt when it dame to collecting their money. We eventually got in touch with a professional tile layer who corrected the issue for $750.00. He showed us where there was a shortage of nails in the floor and the wrong type of adherent had been used. I now have tile in other areas of the kitchen starting to pop up, so I imagine every single tile will have to be re-grouted eventually. Additional issues: 1. Missing a cabinet shelf that was promised 2. Missing several cabinet door bumpers 3. The cabinet edge around my dishwasher is completely unfinished. 4. The tile man who fixed the grout also pointed out some issues with the backsplash that I had not noticed. 5. One drawer was broken and is held together by a screw

I called David and Ray at Sare and they showed up at our house that evening to measure! A few days later we went to their showroom on Sweeten Creek Rd. and picked out the tile. David and Ray were both extremely helpful from the beginning providing ideas and advice for the project. We just moved to the area and did not realize that the Jacuzzi tub in our master bedroom didn't work. In addition, we wanted the convenience and safety of a larger shower area with a seat and grab bars. David and Ray chose a few options based on the existing granite sink counter which we were not changing in the bath. This made the color choice easy for us. David prepared the proposal immediately after we chose the tiles, so we knew within a few minutes how much the job would cost. Their price was fair and lower than most of the other estimates we had received. They were not the lowest, but were so professional in their presentation that we decided that they provided the best value based on our confidence that they would do a better job. Their business is granite and tile, so we placed value on the fact that they were specialists in that business, and not general contractors who may not have the expertise in that speciality. Sare's installer, Adam, showed up for the job at the appointed time and Ray was with him to explain the job. Adam showed up everyday at the time he said he would until the job was completed including a Saturday and Sunday. He was quiet, and very, very clean. At the end of each day, he cleaned the area and made sure everything was in place. He actually made the shower base himself (as opposed to purchasing one) and it works beautifully. Water doesn't pool and the shower floor drains and dries quickly. A few days into the job, we had to choose the granite for the shower seat and soap shelves. Ray was waiting for us at the granite warehouse and, again, had already gone through his inventory to offer a few options for us. It was truly a pleasure to work with David, Ray and Adam. I would definitely hire them again. Our new shower and floor are both beautiful.

Appointment to have estimate on updating kitchen went good . Went into office to see CAD plans for new kitchen lay out it was so nice, look at sample of cabinet and granite counter top, made decision and signed for work to be done paid half of the money. They showed up to take out old cabinets and remove appliances the guys piled it up in garage because they did not bring a truck to load it all in as agreed. The kitchen had water damage from leaking sink and dishwasher so it delayed progress sare company got upset about it but I had no idea I had to hire contractor to fix . Finally I was ready for Sare to install cabinets and counter tops. The first day one man shows up to put cabinets in garage the next day he works on them by him self. The installation was terrible , cabinets had uneven doors , drawers that would not slide easy, trim at top of cabinets put on wrong, cabinet doors opening the wrong way, you name it it was more than I could hardly take because I trusted they would do a good job like the said. The front of one cabinet came completely off I wanted a new one but they just rigged back together. They do not include installation of cabinet handles so it is extra. I hired another contractor to fix cabinets and put handles on cabinets. Granite counter top installation was delayed because it broke when the guys got it out of truck. I ask for cabinets to be fixed over and over they did repair some things , it took them forever and after I paid all the money it was even harder to get service from the company . I took pictures and made video of the problems.

Located them online (including some positive references onAngie’s List)…we took a sketch of what we thought we wanted to our initialmeeting…we were told that certain aspects of the design would not work so weallowed modifications based on their recommendations. It was our desire to donate items from theexisting bath to Habitat for Humanity and we made those requests known toSare. We also discussed the desire toremove a fixed window and replace it with a special-order casement window wehad previously purchased. Sare damagedthe original window so that it was not donatable and their incorrectinstallation of the new window invalidated its warranty. (Sare has said they will correct any futureleaking issues with this window).Their work schedule was haphazard and erratic. Some days they did not show up….we could notconsistently make any plans due to a lack of planning and communication ontheir part. There was poor communicationbetween the general contractor and several sub-contractors—resulting in wastedtrips. Construction of a wall and a knee wall and sheet rock work were sub-par resulting in less thandesirable location of tub fixtures and the added expense to us of having thewalls professionally finished. After near-completion of the job, we discovered that ouroriginal plan would have worked and could have been implemented from thebeginning. To correct this, the tileman had to make three additional visits to correct a water drainageissue—resulting in additional expense and time.

We were very pleased with the work of SARE and would gladly do business with them again. The cost was reasonable for the quality of the materials and the work. Ray and David were very pleasant to deal with. I liked the fact that they approached the job as engineers, taking careful measurements and creating a CAD design on the computer to show us so we could make decisions and so the cabinets and countertops would fit exactly as planned. They and their crews were prompt and professional in all respects. In fact, the complete job took less than a week, start to finish, which was about half the time we expected.

New to the area and wanting someone to install granite countertops, we turned to Angie's List. We had called the "Big Box" stores and were not happy with their estimates. We saw SARE Kitchen and Bath on Angie's List and called them. We spoke with the owner, David, Dumlu. He sent someone out to measure and give us an estimate the very next day. The estimate was excellent--it cerainly beat the HomeDepot and Lowe's estimates! The granite countertops (4) were ready in two weeks. The installers did a fabulous job installing the countertops and sinks. They even vacuumed after they were finished! This company was wonderful to work with--thank you, David and thank you, Angie!!
