I contacted Quality Air thru Angie's list on 8/13 and the service tech was sent out the very next day. Service tech found the a/c was from 1980's and wasn't worth repearing plus he also checked out our furnace as part of the service call. The furnace also from 1980 and had a cracked heat exchanger. After discussion we decided to have the saleman come out to talk about getting a new furnace & a/c. The salesman came out that evening and was very informative about all their systems and gave us all the pricing and rebate forms. We decided to get it all done and Quality's techs were able to come out the following Monday 8/18 to tear out old system and install new furnace, a/c, venting and necessary electrical. They were finished by 4 pm with everything working just perfect! Quality Air is a great company to work with and I feel everyone went above & beyond to get our system up and running.
Description of Work: A/C stopped working so service man checked unit plus checked out furnace and found the furnace had cracked heat exchanger plus the A/C unit was so old it wasn't worth fixing.

They were amazing. They were extraordinarily friendly, and very knowledgeable. They sat down and went through with us everything that they felt that we should do right away, things which we could do to avoid mishaps in the future, some preventive stuff that we could do that they could see coming in the future. We chose the mid level to fix the problem and we dealt with the preventive measures.
Description of Work: We used Quality Air for some heat pump issues, upgrading it, doing a lot of maintenance and do some pre-emanative work to avoid future problems with our heating and A.C system.

They did what they said. They were prompt. They had to come back a few times on a Saturday. They were just a breeze to work with. The price was reasonable. I would recommend them.

Ok, he was supposed to show up with son but came with Hispanic. leaned the unt fine but left stuff in ducts. Came back once but still did not clean up entirely.

The cleaning job was done well from what I can tell, however he charged me for the high end capacitor for it to work all of a few months and burn up as well. I had to call another provider as they said they couldn't get to me for several days and that it would not be covered under warranty. The other provider was extremely disappointed that I was charged three times the cost of the capacitor not including the labor to install it. I will not use them again.

I think that it is possible that [removed member name]may have us confused with another company. We went through our records, and we could not find where we have been to the specified address. If we would have installed that capacitor, we would have made it a priority to get to the clients home. All of our parts that we install/replace on a system have a 2 year warranty, so we would have covered it under warranty. We do not charge for the part and then the labor to install it. We give our clients an investment in writing that includes the cost of the part and our labor. We have been confused with another company in the area that has a similar name as hours. If this is the case, hopefully the record can be straightened out. Thank you.

Recently I bought a house in Asheville for my son and his fiancee. My husband and I wanted to replace the HVAC system so I called Quality Air because they were so highly rated by Angie's List folks. The secretary refused to schedule a visit to the house because I (the homeowner) couldn't be present for the appointment. I live in Durham, four hours drive from Asheville. I need to work remotely with contractors and have done so several times in the past three months. Apparent this is a company policy; Angie's list members should be aware of this policy before calling Quality Air. They may have good reasons for the policy (probably got ripped off by tenants or some such thing) but the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I moved on to someone a little less suspicious and a lot more responsive.

I am sorry that this person feels this way but it is a policy of ours to have a homeowner present at the time of the estimate. We take great pride in always doing the right thing for the homeowner so we do a analysis of the home with the homeowner and this usually takes 2-4 hours depending on their wants and needs. A tenant can not make decisions for a home owner as they usually dont know the answers to many of these questions. We offer the best warranties and guarantees in town so the need for the real homeowner to be involved is greatly elevated. We expect all of our employees to communicte clearly with the homeowners and to always do whats in the best interest of that homeowner.

They are wonderful!! From the receptionist to the technician who came out to find and fix the problem. I felt they took my issues seriously and were able to come out to the house quickly. I could not speak more highly of our tech James. What an amazingly nice and knowledgeable man. EXTREMELY funny and personable, he took extra time to explain and show us all of the problems without using a lot of tech jargon, or coming across condescending. He laid out and explained thoroughly all of our options without being pushy, or making us feel that our house was going to explode at any moment. I've had my fair share of those people as I'm sure many of you have as well! After choosing the plan we felt worked best for us, he quickly and expertly took care of everything. We were so impressed with the service and the technician that we signed for a monthly $15.95 service contract. We've lived in our home 10 years and have had several different local HVAC companies to service our system (only when we had a problem) and were never really happy with any of them. Our technician was Jonathan. He was so helpful and knowledgeable and friendly. He pinpointed our problem right away: the air filter had been sucked down into the unit! Thank you to Angie's List for the A ratings from this company Central Air. We employed them because of these ratings and we were so right in our choice. We have used Angie's List many times the past year and always with happy results.

CALLED QUALITY AIR ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 17 AND THE SERVICE MAN ARRIVED IN LESS THAN AN HOUR. HE CALLED ROCKY THE ENGINEER, HE ARRIVED IN LESS THAN AN HOUR FROM BLACK MOUNTAIN. HE CHECKED THE ENTIRE SYSTEM AND TOLD US OUR OPTIONS. WE CHOSE A BRYANT HEAT PUMP. THEY CALLED MONDAY MORNING, AUGUST 19 TO LET US KNOW THEY WOULD INSTALL THE NEXT DAY BETWEEN 8AM-8:30AM. THE OFFICE CALLED TO LET US NOW THEY WERE ON THE WAY. THEY WERE VERY PROMPT AND VERY PROFESSIONAL. DOUG AND CAROLYN LOWERY

I've used them for the last two or three years off and on. You can always reach them on the phone. You get priority service if you subscribe to their monthly pay system. Theirs always confidence so far. They were very helpful in an emergency. They're all friendly and personable.

Highly professional, great communications and offered the best maintenance program I have ever seen which I purchased on the spot. I have used a lot of service providers over the years and Quality is absolutely the best. The service representative was very knowledgeable, explained everything, provided tips in case I had another outage and in general exceeded my expectations.

A next day appointment, a Saturday morning, was made courteously. There was not an extra charge for this weekend day & time. We were phoned about the status of when the repairman would be there at the beginning of the expected timeframe. He showed up within the appointed hour. He put on shoe covers before walking on our carpet, asked for our description of the problem, and took a look at all the equipment related to our heating/cooling system. He gave us a quote and explained their system for charges. We OK'd the job. He diagnosed the problem as a faulty transmitter, had the new part in his truck, and installed it. The system worked. While here he also inspected the condition of the entire system and gave us a written report on same. He explained their service plan and the costs involved. We declined. On Monday the secretary called asking about our satisfaction with the service call. It was obvious that she was pushing for us to take their service plan. Again, we declined, stating that we had only one service call in 18 years and we did not want to pay over $15 a month for their plan.

I made an appointment on a Friday and was able to have a technician come out first thing Monday morning. My system had been working fine but since it is older, I wanted a full inspection and a new thermostat. Becca called me early Monday morning when the tech was on his way, and Ben arrived right on time. He walked me through everything he inspected on the units and also cleaned the filter, fins, etc. Ben made sure I was familiar with the system and any issues that could arise. He also replaced an older inaccurate mercury filled thermostat with a digital one. I

We used this company as a result of home warranty contract. They came out to diagnose the problem quickly and submitted findings back to home warranty company in a timely manner. The home warranty company seemed to have a miscommunication about ordering the necessary parts, so it did take 3 weeks from the time the claim was made until service was completed. but not the fault of the service provider. Overall a good experience.
