Paul was a pleasure to work with throughout, both personally and professionally. With a background in both engineering and fine arts, he was uncommonly helpful in designing installations well suited to our peculiar needs. He was not only very punctual as far as showing up for each day's work when promised, but stayed right on the schedule he originally outlined for the overall project, even though its scale was big enough that it would have been easy for delays to creep in. We're very satisfied with the quality of his completed work, and he'll be the first person we call if we ever need similar work done in the future.
Description of Work: Designed, constructed, and painted several sets of built-in bookshelves in two rooms, including an unusual special-purpose cabinet inside a closet. Also installed several shelves in closets and did several other small repair jobs such as installing door closers and patching holes in walls left by former homeowner, and gave us recommendations for people to do other work such as room painting.

As with each time we've used Paul for our home projects, he has exceeded our expectations. Paul is the most talented and professional work worker I've ever known. We have several future projects lined up for him, as our finances allow. We wouldn't consider using anyone else for the job. Frankly, if you work with Paul once, you'll continue to seek his assistance with woodwork, trim carpentry, framing, remodeling and building. He can do it all and does it efficiently.
Description of Work: Added/Modified trim work, added drain pan to Washing Machine, fixed windows, built shelving

Paul is a very professional, quality-driven, polite carpenter who did an excellent job from beginning to end on my siding job. He is laid-back, easy to work with and is very meticulous and thorough. The contract he provided explained everything about the job in perfect detail, even down to the disposal of old materials and clean-up on the job site. Although the siding job only took a few days, at the end of each day, Paul left the job site immaculate. I recommend Paul very highly and hope to hire him for many more jobs!
Description of Work: Paul removed the old horizontal siding from one side of my house, put up house wrap and installed Hardi Plank siding, which he matched up perfectly with the existing siding. He also removed some old flashing that had been installed incorrectly, and reinstalled it correctly.

Paul is a very talented trim and framing carpenter who is punctual, fair priced and honest. I had a very unique experience getting to know Paul. My wife and I started our home build in November 2009. Paul was the lead carpenter for our builder. To save money on the build, our builder allowed me to put in roughly 20-30 hours per week during framing. Thus, I got to see, on a daily basis, the quality of the build, professionalism of the carpenters and quality of work they performed. Paul, being the lead carpenter, was in essence managing and working on our build. Paul showed up every single morning at 7:00am and worked until 5:30. Mind you, the winter of 2009/2010 was brutal at our house site--for two weeks the temperature never rose above freezing and mornings were in the low teens. Our house, I should mention is at 3400' ASL. Paul was never late and always worked when on the clock. He maintained a very high level of quality throughout the build. In fact, our Buncombe County framing inspector told me it was one of the best framing jobs he'd ever seen at final framing inspection. Soon after the house was dried-in and stucco was put on the exterior, Paul's employer (our builder) went bankrupt. It was a real blow to us. Paul continued on doing carpentry/remodeling work for people who had worked with him before. I sent him to some friends that needed to some work done and they were extremely pleased with him. Even though my wife and I have a _very_ tight budget for finishing our build, we have still hired Paul to help me with some of the trim carpentry. Paul can do this stuff in his sleep. Anyway, I can't recommend him enough. Paul is a very kind, soft-spoken fellow. He does a quality job and is fair priced. He is not the absolute cheapest on the block (not the highest either) but he guarantees his work and does an excellent job. As I said, he's honest and punctual. Hard qualities to find in a carpenter/handyman. Let's put it this way, I think I would trust him with a blank check. Seriously.
Description of Work: Paul framed our new house with his crew, installed windows, installed our metal roof, managed the house site and sub-contractors, build our staircase, framed all exterior and interior doors (exterior doors were reclaimed and one was arch-top).
