They have been not very good about trying to make things better. We contacted them and got transferred around to different people and then we were finally told that it wasn't their problem and that we needed to contact the manufacturer. We called the number they gave us for that and it turned out to be a Home Depot resolution center. The woman seemed very good, but we tried calling her back a couple of days later to see what direction to go, and she never returned the call. This has been going on over the past 2 months. It's still unresolved. They had a "not my problem" attitude. When we called, we got passed around to multiple numbers. We finally got somebody that did seem concerned and wanted to do the right thing, which was great. It just seemed to be much more complicated than it needed to be. Overall, I would say an F, because it's not resolved and they haven't had the courtesy to get back to us to let us know what is going on. This was my most recent experience. The pricing was competitive to what others are charging. Right now, as you know, I'm not very happy, so for quality, I would say it's an F. I automatically feel like if you are providing a service to somebody, it's your responsibility to keep them updated with what is going on. I'm thinking I have to lump everyone that I spoke to in one grade, and I hate to do that to people who tried to be helpful, so I would say probably like a D. I would just share my experience and let them know, this is what happened to me. I shop there on a regular basis, so I wouldn't say I would never shop there again. It's just the way they handled an item that had to be ordered and then kind of not taking responsibility for the fact that it got damaged. The item was shipped to the store from the manufacture and the box was probably damaged. It should have been checked and this all could have been alleviated. They could have said, the item came in damaged, but they had no problem passing it along to us. We had to pay the installer to go pick up the door.
Description of Work: A sliding glass shower door that we purchased through them. It came, was delivered and is damaged, of course it's useless now.

Overall it went well. There were small details such as I wanted full extension self-closing drawers and doors. I told them that when they were measuring for the refinishing. Told me it would be extra, I said okay. When they came to install, they were not self-closing. Called Home Depot and they said they could not get self-closing hardware because they didn't have that size. Saw them on Home Depot website and they said they don't order from them (?) Kept after them, and they told me to go to Home Depot and get the slides I wanted. Did that and had them installed. Why couldn't they do that in the first place, instead of giving me the runaround. (They did not charge extra which is a plus.) The kitchen looks great! All the people I dealt with were very nice, but sometimes difficult to work with. Have to make sure they understand what you want.
Description of Work: Refinished my kitchen cabinets. Built drawers and doors under my countertop

Everyone I have worked with in the store, including the kitchen designer, has been excellent in terms of telling me the price of things, getting things done as quickly as possible and being responsive; I emailed the store manager about something on New Year's Day and she replied the same day, which surprised me. They have a contractor who does a lot of the work and I will say I have not been nearly as happy with the contractor. The store itself and what it can do is fine.
Description of Work: I am working with Home Depot on a total kitchen remodel.

Shortly after I bought a house that had been repeatedly vandalized during eight months it had been vacant (think stolen garage doors, the entire kitchen, HVAC system, electrical panel, lighting fixtures, pond pump, and every scrap of copper), I ordered two garage doors with installation services from Home Depot. They said it would take two to three weeks. Until we had garage doors we could not have any work done on the house that required electricity or involved leaving objects with any value in the house. I should have known there would be problems when it took the cashier 15 minutes to figure out how to accept a check instead of a credit card. Less than two weeks later someone came out to take measurements and to tell us about some minor framing work we'd need done. Seemed promising. A week later I went back to see if they had an ETA. I stood around the desk at the doors section for 15 minutes waiting for someone to show up. No one ever did. A week later I went back and found a person. He said they'd need to send someone out to do measurements. He looked confused when I told him that had already happened and told me the doors were still being manufactured because there was some kind of backup at the factory. I went back about two weeks later and was told that there were scheduling problems with the installer - their local installer had died and they were using someone from SC who only came up once a week. When I explained my problem, the rep told me he'd call and ask them to put a rush on it. Several days later, someone called and said the installer would come out "early next week." No one ever called or showed up. When we called, they said the earliest possible date would be "the week after next," which turned out to be the week after we were on vacation. While we were on vacation, someone called and said they'd do it the Tuesday morning after we returned. That Tuesday morning someone called to say the installer had to postpone his trip because his father was having heart surgery. At that point, eight weeks after my initial order, I had enough and decided to fire them. To their credit, everyone was very apologetic and they handled the refund process professionally. Epilogue- The day I fired Home Depot, I hired Asheville Garage Door Services. They installed essentially the same doors onew eek later. As it turned out, the framing instructions the Home Depot measurements guy gave my carpenter were incorrect and the carpenter had to make changes.
Description of Work: I ordered two garage doors, with installation, but ultimately had to fire them and request a refund because of their failure to perform.

carpet installation

After they installed the carpet, there was a big bump in the middle. I called them to come out and fix it, and they stated that they did not warranty the installation. I kept the ad that stated they did, and they sent one man out to fix it, but it wasn't completely fixed. I called them back again and a different woman answered and stated the same thing about the warranty, and I brought up the ad again. She stated I needed to drive out to bring in the ad, but I explained I couldn't because I just had hip surgery done. She was nice enough to drive out and look at the ad, and send another group out and they finally fixed it for me.
Description of Work: I don't recall the cost for the carpet. They installed a carpet in the living room, dining, and hallway.
