Eric and Howard did a fantastic job; they were caring, respectful and responsive. We give Green Outdoors an A++ rating. We had numerous companies attempt to fix a chronic leak in our water feature and had already paid a lot of money but still had a leaky pond; we were unable to use it at all for fear it would burn out the pump when water got too low. Eric, the owner of Green Outdoors, was very experienced and knowledgeable and said he would expand the waterfall and refurbish everything which could possibly be causing the leak and he was good on his word. One section continued to leak after numerous changes had been made, and he or Howard came about 6 times to our home, and called many more times to check on status, until the problem was 100% taken care of. We now have a gorgeous water feature, larger and faster flowing which results in a wonderful sound that we can hear throughout the house. We give the highest rating possible when it comes to customer service, follow through, knowledge and integrity. Eric kept his word even though the situation was very challenging and other vendors had taken our money then given up on it. Also, Green Outdoors provided services for a more fair and reasonable amount than any other vendor who gave an estimate. These guys are the BEST! and we are grateful they were able and willing to fix something we really cared about.

The work plan was sketchy, we should have insisted it be spelled out clearly. Workers moved trees/plants without asking us where we wanted them, and one shrub was planted on neighbor's property. Mulch areas were prepared, and weeks later the mulch was still not spread. We asked when that would be done and Eric said WE were supposed to spread the mulch -- he would charge us more if we wanted him to do it. That was NOT my understanding when we discussed the project. Stone work took weeks, with later work sloppier than early work. We need to have him come back to neaten up and make it match the early work. It does look nice and enhances our property. However, It took months longer than expected to get the job finished. There were many excuses why workers didn't show up. The price seemed high for the actual work done.
Description of Work: Landscaping and stonework.

The contract was signed on May 21, 2013. His approximate start date came and went . He never called. We called again. He eventually called. I think reviewers of this business can suspect how our attempts to get him to provide us with a competent timeline for services, a nonchaotic plan of action including when people would show up degenerated into a nightmare for us and business as usual for Mr. Buckner. It did not matter how reasonable and flexible we were with scheduling, action plans etc Mr. Buckner came filled with excuses, assurances of good service if we 'just gave him a chance.' He had a repertoire of reasons and reassurances for all of our concerns but action and work plans were not included. Work started, I believe, the beginning of the second week in June. They just showed up, and completed one of the tasks. It appeared hopeful but it took more phone calls to get his workers to 'just show up' again and move approximately 13 rose bushes and several other shrubs. He sent his workmen with instructions. This translated out to some of the plants moved to places we didn't approve, in additon to the roses being thoughtlessly placed and planted poorly during the heat season with his self assurances( he was seldom, if ever, there to supervise their work). The roses died back and it appeared that his workmen ruined them through their thoughtless planting practices and disregard for the customer. We had some 'hot', tedious phone calls with Mr Buchner. We thought we had a remedy for the failure of the transplanted roses. Unfortunately, he never took responsibilty for his actions so discussions with Mr. Buckner always left us having to understand his difficulties rather than he understanding our frustrations with his inability to understand our love for our land and these roses. He managed to send us his Stonemason who worked the stones beautifully and gave us some value for our money. We were unaware during this time period that other Landscapers offered the customer choices of rock and size..( We would have preferred having a choice.) After his Stonemason finished we continued to have contentious and unresolved discussions with Mr. Buckner. We finally fired him. . In our mind we were the customer and therefore entitled to a plan of action, competent workmanship and a design plan that was intended to satisfy us. In Mr. Buckner's mind we were the problem Since this experience I have discovered other customers who had similar complaints. and hope that you can learn from our mistakes.
Description of Work: We found Mr. Buckner's Landscaping Services ( Green Outdoors) through the work of his talented Stonemason. We noticed his stonework at a neighborhood home, inquired and found out he worked for Green Outdoors. We drove down to his business site on Weaverville Highway( Merrimon). His plants appeared very healthy , neatly presented and in addition his stone and waterfall features were appealing and inspiring. We eventually spoke to Mr. Buckner , met him at our home and discussed plans. He was personable, confident and presented us with a landscaping picture that we, at first, liked. He did not have the ability to present us with a sketch or a diagram. We had never used a landscaping service before so all of this was new to us even though we wished he made some effort to use at least a diagram to help us recollect what he visualised. The plan was extensive. We settled on the following work: repairing existing dry stack walls,, installing dry bed creek and boulders, moving plants, repairng a steeply sloped bank with dirt and pinestraw and spraying ground, 18 step pathway, a dry stack wall, installing 21 Rhododendrums and 100 Cotonasters, moving plants, removing existing rip rap for approximately 15, 185.00
