Estimated 6 week project stretched out to 5 months. According to him this was due to the extended periods of rain we had and the resulting poor drying conditions for the spray-on lacquer top coat. He was responsive returning phone calls when I would inquire on the status of the work, but any conversation with him was never a short endeavor, if you know what I mean..... Finish tint had to be redone as his wife (??) didn't think I'd like the color he'd used and when I was finally consulted on the color, found it to be much too dark. Did not charge me extra for the redone/unacceptable work. As we were installing the lights, found that the tinted top coating was very fragile and easily damaged (even after being well cured - it took us several months to actually install the fixtures...) . Very sorry I let myself be talked into the whole coloring process. I have had other companies work on other antique brass pieces (door and window hardware) where an aged brass look was applied and didn't have this type of problem. He said he subcontracted out to an electrician to have the light sockets attached and wired (and charged me about $100 extra for this work) but when we went to attach the light fixtures found that some of the wiring had simply been thrust through openings in the sockets (NOT attached to the electrical screws) and in another, an electrical wire was barely wrapped onto the screw and separated from it without requiring the screw be loosened. Hard to believe this was the work of an electrician.
Description of Work: Requested surface cleaning and polishing of vintage brass light fixtures. He suggested further services of rewiring new sockets in place and tinting the brass fixtures.
