Ian Bailey provided a detailed estimate of what he recommended we needed to do to protect our house from possibly dangerous trees/limbs and our hemlocks from wooly adelgid. He spent an hour with me and provided lots of what I thought was good advice. When he left, I was pretty sure that I was going to hire him, but he didn't respond to several calls I made to set up a date to do the work. So I proceeded to get estimates from two other tree services, Greene's and French Broad. To my surprise, both of these tree services gave me different advice on the wooly adelgid: Greene's said nothing should be done until/unless the tree showed signs of damage and French Broad said that when/if the trees needed treatment that it was simple enough for me to do myself (at a cost saving of over $700 compared to Bailey's price!!) What a shock!! As agreed, I sent Mr. Bailey a check for $50 for the estimate. Never heard from him again....

The work was amazing and not one surrounding plant or smaller tree was damaged. The crew worked very consciously, very safe, very fast and the clean up was immaculate. The cost of the job was very reasonable, considering the crane and 4 men working on the job. We have used Ian in the past to trim our other trees, always very happy with his work and the work of his crew!
Description of Work: Bailey Tree Preservation took down a very large tulip poplar that was starting to drop large limbs. We hated to take it down, but being so close to the house and power lines we knew it was a matter of time before we had some serious damage. Due to the size of the tree and the location with the power lines, they brought in a crane.

We have used them several times. The owner's name is Ian Bailey. I didn't find him on Angie's List. Ian is an arborist. He recommended that we do specific trimming on the Maple tree because the crotch of the tree was going to break open and there were two crossing against each other in the way it had ground. He actually trimmed it so that it increased the health of the tree and it's been doing great ever since. Prior to that, he had taken down a tree for which we spent around less than $500.00. He did an extraordinary job. He dropped that tree straight down and didn't injure a single plant or flower bed. He was awesome. We will be calling him in the spring.
Description of Work: Bailey's Tree Service came out in the spring and trimmed a Maple tree. T
