Very impressive company and crew. Timely, professional, knowledgeable, safe, and friendly. Some of the trees had to be topped off and segments roped down. The crew was extremely capable.

These folks are super-professional. Craig came out and assessed the work and made recommendations. I had an official and detailed proposal and proof of insurance within 24 hours of our appointment. He called to follow-up. There are some site-specific challenges with my property and he was overly accommodating in working, and helping, to find a resolution.

Job went well. They let us know what needed to be removed, what was healthy, how to treat some of the other issues they noticed. They were the most professional service I've hired in my 11 years of living in WNC.

They did a beautiful job. I was amazed that they were able to do the job. The tree was in a tough place and they did a really nice job of getting everything done and cleaned up and cut for us. They were great.

One of the owners came out to give me an estimate within hours of my initial contact. He did a quick evaluation of my trees, then emailed me a quote later in the day. We made one adjustment and scheduled the service. The crew showed up on time (early, actually) and made quick work of the trees. Their equipment and safety gear looked well maintained and cared for. They constantly communicated with each other when branches and equipment were coming down. Overall, it was a very professional job and I'll definitely call them again if I need tree service in the future.

It went well. They were very safe in the way they did the work and very timely.

To start off with, they came on the day they said they'd come, at the time they said they'd come. They were very interested in what we wanted, and took great pains to provide it. They did a TERRIFIC JOB. Most professional, very informed, very concerned about the affect they'd have on the natural environment. They were also quick! The job mostly entailed removing trees from the edge of a forest. They were done in about 1 hr. 15 mins, and that included several stops while they consulted with us. This was the best service I have every had. They left the trees in cut up pieces. The whole thing was EXCEPTIONAL, including the price.

I really can't say enough good things about Asheville Arborist! They were exceptional. From start to finish everyone was polite, friendly, punctual and did their job very safely for themselves and my property. After you see these guys climbing in tall trees trimming limbs, etc. you will realize they can handle any tree problem you might have. Our property is on a steep hillside and they had no problem with it. I'm also pleased with the price. I thought it was very reasonable for the amount of work they did. I've also used them in the past to treat hemlock trees for the wooly adelgid problem. Their treatment was entirely successful and I'm one of very few people that still have a large stand of these kind of trees. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again for any problem. These men really know what they are doing, and are both friendly and highly professional, have used them numerous times. On some of the trees, they helped me decide NOT to remove them, but did the others thoroughly and neatly, cleaning up after themselves. A couple of the trees required them to ascend the trees before cutting, as well as making sure no damage was done to the house structure. They also cleared a lot of deadwood from my 2 acres of all woods on another occasion, and again were helpful in my decision NOT to clear some of the deadwood that will serve as wildlife habitat. They are thus avid conservationists as well as tree experts in my book. They are knowledgeable about different types of trees, helping me to decide what combinations of trees were best removed or best left alone. They are certified arborists. I'd advise anyone to examine the work it takes to become certified before hiring. My search produced an easy choice.

When part of the stump errupted, we notified them and they sent out the person to fix it the next day. Reliability and standing behind one's work is important and I commend them for it.

I thought their price was a little high for what they did, but I thought it was okay. They did a lot. They did a good job and showed up. I have had problems with tree people before not showing up.

Craig gave me a lot of confidence that I'd asked the right person for advice. He was exceptionally courteous and I felt that his views were very accurate and beneficial. Although no immediate tree work is called for, I will know who to call when the time comes. Thanks Craig!

When first contacting Craig he let me know up front that due to all the work already scheduled Asheville Arborists would not be able to come out right away. This was very helpful for setting expectations. He responded to my initial call later that evening and we set up a consultation. During the consultation Craig walked over the property and reviewed all the trees with me, pointing out issues, and identifying what might be done and whether it was critical or not. He seemed very knowledgeable about trees, which I very much valued since the main reason for my call was a cherry tree that was badly affected by a disease. I was looking for someone with knowledge about trees and tree health (an arborist), not just timber removal. We decided on what work was to be done and the price and it was scheduled for about 10 days out. The day before the work was to be done someone called to confirm and give an idea of when the crew would be on site. The crew arrived on time and the crew leader confirmed with me the work to be done. The crew got right to work and had everything done in a few hours. Some new construction had started across from my house, so unexpectedly there was a lot of heavy equipment in the vicinity, but the crew adapted to this without any problems, and worked cooperatively with the builders to position equipment as needed. While we were reviewing the work, I realized there was a large weed shrub I wanted to get rid of but had forgotten about -- they were able to work this in as part of the project (that alone saved me several hours of work). When finished they cleaned up the area picking up cuttings and leaving the yard looking good. Was very pleased with the results! The pruned cherry tree looked much better, was cleared some in the interior, and is much easier to work around now. The other pruned trees also looked much better and more open. I confess I was a bit concerned with pruning during the heat of summer and in the middle of the dry spell we were having at the time, despite Craig's assurances. So I waited several weeks before writing this review, just to make sure, but the trees are all flourishing and look great! Based on my experience with project, I will definitely use Asheville Arborists again, and will recommend them to others. They are knowledgeable about trees, do efficient and thorough work, communicate well, and all for what I felt was a reasonable price.

Tree in front required a crane; tree in rear dropped into a narrow space between other plantings and a fence. No damage to other plantings or turf.

The workers were fabulous. They knew what they were doing, they did it well and efficiently. Professional to the extreme. Except for the billing. It took 2 months to send me the bill, and then he sent it to my partner, not to me. Other than that I would use then again with a smile on my face.

They were professional, respectful to the property and did excellent work. I would hire them again in an instant and will most definitely be using them for ongoing maintenance of the trees on our property.

This is a highly professional, highly competent group of arborists. Everything they do, from timely showing up for an estimate to starting and finishing the work points to a very well run company that is a pleasure to deal with. They really know what they are doing and do their work safely and impressively. I highly recommend this company.

Rather than going on and on, I'll simply give you the text of an email I sent to them today. This will give you some idea of the service I received from Asheville Arborists. The title was "Cancel Me": Craig, I feel ridiculous asking you to cancel my hemlock treatment service, since I am firmly convinced you have never actually had me scheduled to do it. The last time we communicated you said it would be done by Oct 3, and here it is Oct 19. No hemlock treatment--no communication from you. Do you realize that the first time I spoke to you about doing this treatment was in late June?! For 4 months, you have failed to give me an exact date for performing this service. You gave me a quote for it ($175 for 2 trees)--which I accepted--but you have neither scheduled nor performed the service. You told me at least 3 times that it would be done--always at a vague time in the future--but so far you are a total no-show. So if by any remote chance I am actually on your list, please take me off. I have to say that, in the nearly 20 years that I have been an Angie's List member, this has been the WORST service I have ever received from anyone I found on the list. My review on Asheville Arborists will reflect that. Hint: if you have no intention of doing work for an Angie's List member, say so right up front. It will be easier on you.

A 2 man crew arrived on time, well equipped and ready to work. We agreed on 4 trees to be taken down, and they set to work, impressively cleaning up after themselves by chipping all felled wood. They even raked up the walnuts. When they were almost finished, they were joined by their supervisor, and we negotiated for the additional 2 trees and trimming. He stayed to help and the whole job was finished in 5 hours.

The company was very responsive when I first contacted them and came out to look at the job. Since it was a small job that would be entirely covered by "the deal", I was told that they would have to schedule me at a time when they were out and finished with a larger job. I had to call after many months to remind them that they still hadn't come to do my trimming. Once they did come, they were very professional and did a good job. The arborists were knowledgeable and offered good advice on taking acre of my trees.

They did a fantastic job and I was elated with the service.

First, the company did not contact me within the two days as promised in the deal and I had to complain about not being contacted. Then I learned that there was no service available for the amount of the deal because the company has a minimum charge for any work performed which was twice the amount of the deal. Finally, I was informed that scheduling would be about 7 weeks out from the time of the request. I feel it is misleading to offer a deal for an amount that is not available. If the minimum charge is $400, there should not be a deal offering $200 worth of work.
