They made a small error in the installation but they were very apologetic and quickly resolved the issue. Throughout the job they were sincere and polite.

Their pricing was reasonably competitive. They did an okay job. They were right here when they said they would be.

Everything is working well functionally as well as their responsiveness and the business relationship. Have had no negative experience with them whatsoever. Price is for annual agreement.

Dave Thompson, the sales rep came to the house and evaluated our needs. It was determined that most of the units could be installed above closets so that the tubing could run inside the closet and through the floor to the garage, where the cords were attached to the ceiling and fed out to compressors.The crew that came out to do the installations did an excellent job. Placement and installations and cords were tight and as invisible and low impact as they could be. Cords that ran outside were buried along the edge of the house. The area where they had to bore out of a stone wall to a compressor on a slope was cleanly sealed and was well-executed. Really nice work on all counts. The units are quiet and very efficient, to boot. Couldn't be happier with how it all went.

Came on time, worked all day and were done by 5 pm. Very professional and thorough. Follow up after job was done.

After looking at Angies List I phoned Mountain Air and McNutt. Rhonda with McNutt came out the next day which was a Friday and gave me a quote and said they could have it done by Monday. As promised Monday the guys were there worked all day and I had a cool house by 6:00 that evening. I wanted to use a 0% offer for 12 mos on a credit card offer that I had but I had to wait for the card to arrive. Rhonda waited until the card came before I had to pay. This was above and beyond and greatly appreciated. The next day the unit was not working properly. I phoned that moring and someone came out and took a look at it promptly. Lucky for us the unit worked while we were waiting for the new part which came the next day. They were prompt and professional and I was really pleased with the level of service they displayed.

They call to make an appointment for the inspection, they arrive when they say they will, and they are always neat with their work. So far in this house we have had them install a generator and two new heat pumps. All of their work has been excellent!

McNutt contacted us before the beginning of the heating season, then before the A/C season in order to inspect the HVAC system and replace any defective or wearing parts. We have used them for the past three years.

The technician recognized the age of the system and rather than trying to sell me a new system, quickly diagnosed the problem fixed the problem. He was extremely professional and responsive to all my questions. I will be seeking a service contract with McNutt to help the system last a few more years, if possible.

I had a good experience with them. They were professional, and they did a nice clean installation of this system. I would use the company again in the future.

Quick response to request for estimate, then selected from field of 3 HVAC contractors. Was very responsive to need for quick installation to meet deadline for income tax credit. Workmen very professional and did not leave a big mess. Very pleased with the company.

The estimator, Rick Bayless, was fantastic. Very thorough and professional. He really knows his stuff. Installers Nicky and Matt are prompt, curteous, and professional. Very careful with our home and very conscientious about their installation work. Everything was installed with a craftsman-like detail and everything works great.

Overall went very well---an ordering mistake on McNutt's part caused a 3 ton unit to be installed instead of the quoted 3 1/2 ton unit. Mc Nutt immediately realized and owned up to their error, offered me a refund of the difference in price between the two units and gave me a letter pledging to completely replace the entire system if, by September 30 (end of cooling season) I am not completely satisfied as to how the unit holds temperature...replacement, if I require it, will be at no charge to me and the full one year labor warrently on all parts will start from the time the new unit is installed, if needed....so far it is working fine

Good price, no mess install, and nice people.

They did it very well. There were a couple of minor things that came up and they came out right away and took care of it. They are very punctual and have come in the middle of the night when I have needed them. I would highly recommend them.

The heat pump made noise and I contacted them for over a year to have them come and eliminate the noise from the heat pump. They came out multiple times and were still unable to fix the problem. On their finial visit the technician indicated I had a cracked heat exchanger in the furnace and would have to have it replaced. He disabled the furnace and left. I turned out that there was no crack in the heat exchanger. I ended up using another company.

They came out and charged me two and one half hours of a mechanics time, even though their office is actually only 8 miles from my home. They also charged me a 50 dollar truck charge. It seems like a ripoff!

During the week of Aug 11-15, 2008, one of my Air Conditioners failed. A small (1.5 Ton) unit that cools the mother-in-law space above my garage went out. My wife uses this space as a Massage Therapy Suite and she had a client coming, so we needed the system up and running quickly. She called McNutt Service Group. McNutt is one of the more prominent HVAC service providers in the Asheville, NC area, so she called them (I am a consultant with the Army and was on the road). McNutt responded quickly and had a man there the same day (A+ on responsiveness). However, that's where their positive ratings end. I spoke to their Service Tech on the phone and he said that my Compressor had a dead short. I suggested replacing the Compressor of the 10 year old unit, and he suggested instead an entirely new unit ( $6,000 installed). He had a sales speech and tried. But I asked him instead again for the price of a new Compressor. He said $2300 ($1400 for the compressor and $900 to install). I never called him back. Instead, I called another local competitor (J&M Heating and Cooling). J&M told me that they would totally install a new compressor for $1285. So I said OK and set the appointment up. On Friday, 15 August, 2008, J&M sent their Service Techs to my home and they assessed the situation. THEY REPLACE A FAILED CAPACITOR. THE COMPRESSOR WAS FINE ALL ALONG. This will cost me maybe $300. Oh...one more thing...WHILE J&M WAS THERE FIXING THE CAPACITOR ON THE MOTOR, A MCNUTT TRUCK SHOWED UP (UNAUTHORIZED) AND SAID THEY WERE THERE TO REPLACE A COMPRESSOR (WHICH I NEVER ORDERED). The J&M Techies laughed and said..."We just get paid by the hour and the McNutt guys get a percentage of sales". I have to rate McNutt as not only unprofessional, but there tactics are unethical. They saw my wife there alone and tried to load her up. We went from: 1. Dead Compressor...need new system (McNutt): $6000 2. Dead Compressor...replace Compressor (McNutt): $2300 3. Supposed Dead Compressor...quote on replacement from J&M: $1285 4. Actual Repair (Capacitor)...fixed by J&M: $300 VERDICT: USE MCNUTT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
