McNutt Service Group - Arden

The guy was very nice. He seemed to be very knowledgeable as opposed to some others I had out in the past. He is trying to take his word for the fact that I might need a new heater. I thought the company charged an extra $50 something to do with the upkeep of the truck. I thought that was excessive because they charged me $99 for a house call and $50 for the upkeep of the truck, which was a little much. Others that had come out in the past didn't really fix the problem. He said the repair would charge $300-$400, so I am looking into buying a new one. Everything was fine. The other people who came out charged $99 for the service call, but they did not charge for the upkeep of the truck.

They installed a new heat pump 1-1/2 years ago. Before the year was up the unit began to sink a bit so they came out and put another base under it at no charge. I was very pleased with their service at this point. This year the unit stopped all together. I called and was informed that it would be 59.00 for the service call and 90.00 per hour. I was told if they could fix it they would while they were here. Kenneth came and took care of the issue. The charge was 187.00. Service invoice states that it was loose wires. I was not there at the time of service so I called to find out a little more about the issue so that I could ensure I would not have the problem again. Kenneth called back late the next day. I ask him if the issue could have been rodents chewing on the wires and he stated that it looked like their had been some mice activity in there. I asked him where the area was so that I could rodent proof it to ensure that I would not have the problem in the future. He said that It was extremely rare that this happens like one in a million chance and that I should not have to worry about it. About a week later the unit dies again. I called Monday morning and they informed me that if it was the same issue that they would not charge me. Kenneth came back that day ordered a part and said he would be back. Kenneth came the next day and replaced the "new board" as the invoice states and charged 69.00. I am not convinced that the first service call was a "band-aid" fix, however i can not be certain. Overall I am pleased but I feel that the problem could have been fixed on the first call. Its hard to understand how a Trane unit would breakdown after only 1-1/2 years of use.

They have a dozen types of motor fans. It amazes me that they know everything about the unit because they installed it but they arrive with no parts. However, it is working well and it did it's job and cost me nothing so I would call them back. I used them in a previous house, too, and they were good then.

They did very well. They come in the fall for the furnace and in the spring for the air conditioner. It is $99 a year for them to come and check things out. I have had good experience with them. They are very professional and know what they are doing. I haven’t had any problems at all. I think the price is fair. I would continue to use them in the future.

After purchasing a house with a full-house generator and not having had a generator previously, we decided to have the generator checked out to be sure it was working properly. Glad we did and that we picked McNutt. The technician Joseph James was very knowledgeable and not only did the tune up, but schooled us in the generator's operation and how to take proper care of it which was not done by the previous owners. I was very impressed with the attention to detail of the technician. He also presented us with options to pay for the work done that day or to take out a service contract.

At firsr service was satisfactory. Then for the last few years,McNutt would send a different serviceman who was not familiar with our system requiring us to explain and educate him on our system. About that time we found out that ownership of the company had changed. Then we had a % ton heat pump fail and could not get service. I had to call another company to replace the unit at a cost of $7,000. I wrote a letter to McNutt and have yet to get a response. We cancelled our long standing office n and home service contract with McNutt. I cannot recommend this company!

McNutt Service Group has been our HVAC Contractor for years, but in the last few years their service has degraded significantly. We had to replace 2 units this summer and neither was done correctly. When we finally called another contractor he found that a gas line to one unit was leaking (!!!) and the power to a second unit had never been hooked up. They installed units that were much larger than what we needed, but because the duct work was so poorly done, we never did get sufficient cooling in the summer or heat in the winter. Every time we have a problem, they send someone new, so although they designed and installed our system, the technician knows nothing about it. Nothing was ever labeled or documented so every service call is a first. Their front office is very polite and responsive, but they seem to have let their experienced technicians go and have not given their inexperienced technicians sufficient training. We've had to walk away from an almost 20 year relationship.

Customer service was most friendly, I spoke to Tammi, she was courteous, responded to my needs, great customer service! Keith, the technician arrived on time. He was very polite and courteous as well. Did a thorough check up of our A/C. I will request him for our 2012 A/C check up. Excellent service!

They did a very good job. I got a rebate on it. I got competitive bids and they had the best price. I would use them again.

Very good. The problem was solved, the HVAC system works perfectly. We have been using McNutt for our HVAC equipment since 2007. Their service has been first-class, deserving an A+ on Angie's List grading scale. Always available, very punctual, very honest, they have gone out of their way to make a repair as inexpensive and effective as possible. Can't praise them enough.

We were not here when the work was done and returned home to find the a/c working well. Our only complaint was that some wires were exposed in the unit outside and when we called about this, they promptly sent someone over to fix it.

They check out my furnace and my generator. They are a very good outfit, and I'm very pleased with them so far. I would recommend to anybody.

It turned out that it wasn't broken, something was just stuck in it. They got it out and didn't charge me anything! I was very happy with them.

I was out of town a lot, they came to service the generator. They say they notified me that it wasn't operating. They never called, but I had no messages. They knew also the reason I had the generator is that there is a sump pump on it. I never knew it was inoperable. Christmas Eve two years ago the power went out and my basement flooded because of it. They lied to me. They told me they were going to take a part off, but they never came out. I finally had another company come out to fix it. The manager who took my call told me it was my fault that I didn't know it wasn't running. He said I should have heard, but I wasn't here to be able to hear if it wasn't running. I paid the service charge for them to come out and check it. The said they left a note on the front door, but I never got that either. Between September and December I never knew that my generator was not working.

We have a service contract with them and the service contract is $295 for the year. The best thing I found about them is their responsiveness when I need them for any service other than the routine scheduled maintenance. Sometimes they have come out the same day, which I found to be incredibly good compared to what I used to have in Virginia.

Initial survey for new system by sales engineer excellent. Installation on time and very well executed. After-sales service, including annual maintenance by technician at reasonable rate. Very satisfied.

They are very efficient. They notified us we were due for our annual checkup and set up an appointment. They are very knowledgeable about the products.

They are good and professional, and their price is reasonable. They also provide plumbing and electrical services. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

McNutt gave a fair price and got the job done.

The person from McNutt Service Group came the very afternoon I called. He said he wanted to find out the reason of the problem and searched for two hours but, never found it. Apart from that, everything else was fine.
