McNutt Service Group - Arden

Everything went really fast and professional. We had air conditioning when it was 95 degrees outside. I don't have any basis for comparison on price.

We used McNutt in 2009 to install a new furnace. The service at that time was excellent, though we have since learned that they sold us a MUCH larger volume furnace than we needed for the size of our home. We called again in May to get an estimate for adding A/C. We had gotten a price for this in 2009, and didn't figure this would be a big deal. The salesman who came out was extremely unprofessional and just kept ranting about how much ductwork we had and how expensive it would be to get all of it wrapped and so on. We said we just needed the quote. He left and said we'd have it the next day. We didn't hear from him for a week, and called back. He still didn't have a hard estimate, but started quoting rough figures, which were considerably more than what the quote was from 2009. I told him about the previous quote, and he had no idea we'd had work done before. Wouldn't you think he'd have gone to our file? Then he got all upset when he I told him how much it had been and he said he'd have to rework the numbers. Another 7-10 days went by and we still hadn't heard back from him. I called and asked to speak to the supervisor, who apparently spoke immediately to him and he called and said he'd have the quote the next day. I wasn't home when he brought it by, but it was very rough, no itemization, and very little info even about the unit or why he was recommending it. Meanwhile we had gone to another company and gotten great service. We never followed up with the guy, and they have never called back to check with us. The new company we chose said the installation "choices" made by McNutt on our furnace 3 years earlier were "unusual," and said their team will likely be fixing some of the apparent code violations that were made. We will NEVER use McNutt again, and I would advise others to avoid them like the plague. We have learned that the company was sold about 2 years ago, and has been taking a nose dive ever since.

Chris Taylor, the sales rep who came out to assess our heat/AC needs and recommend alternatives, was excellent in his thoroughness, professionalism and follow through. The men who came to remove the old unit and install the new unit did a great job working with the challenges of the location of the unit(s) -- a pretty steep mountainside.

McNutt Service Group were quite good. I believe they are real qualified workers. I was quite satisfied with their work.

McNutt installed this heat pump in our new home almost 3 years ago. We have had it repaired approx 5 times. Each time a service technician came and would take a long time (they charge by the hour). they wanted to check everything to make sure everything was working instead of just fixing the one problem. Finally called another company who came in March of this year and we've not had any problems since. McNutt never found the correct problem.

Technician unstalled a humidifier on heating system. The unit produced at least 10 gallons of waste water per day that I had to dispose of. Called the service technician back to examine the problem. He said it's supposed to work that way and then left with problem unresolved. I cannot use the humidifier at all because I can't afford the increased water bill for the wast water.

They were good. It was maintenance on the museum and office units.

They are very good. McNutt Service Group would be the company to go with and as a matter of fact the technician who I have is prompt, does a good job, and keeps you informed as to what problems you have. I would highly recommend this service group to anyone.

The sales person arrived and spent 10 minutes looking at the furnace and five minutes looking at the air conditioner. Both are 18 years old. He then went to his truck and, after thirty minutes, came in and gave me two estimates written on yellow tablet paper. There were no model numbers, no SEER ratings, no discussion of amount of air movement, etc. The paper only had a cost for two different brands and discounts if I paid by check or credit card. I had no idea what I was buying.I have been gathering estimates from several other companies. Most check the house counting windows, vents, square footage and asking about the present systems. They then bring me to the furnace and air conditioner and show me all the parts and talk about what is important. The gentleman from Mountain Aire in Arden spent a good amount of time talking about a heat pump versus an air conditioner ( I really appreciated that). Other companies also made helpful suggestions for helping to keep heat and cool inside. After these inspections, I was given booklets of information and a computer estimate of several different models. We discussed the pros and cons of each. The models and each piece of tubing were clearly priced and explained.

I initially met the plumber to discuss the problem and show him the piping in my crawl-space. He did not have sufficient material on hand to repair that day, but made appointment to come back the following morning. They performed the removal/installation in my crawl-space while I was at work with no need to be present - that was very helpful. The plumber stopped by the following day to pick up payment. Every thing seemed to work fine. I still have a little backflow, but that could be attributed to some beginnings of a clog in the line downstream from where he performed his work. They were more than willing to use a sewer camera to look for clogs and clean them out - if they existed. I declined to get them to do this work.

They have been very good about scheduling. In their routine service, they have caught a couple of things that I wasn’t aware of. The service guys always seem very competent. They are always on time. They give us a window of time when they are going to show up and they do. It is hard to say about their price, because I haven’t compared some shops for a while; it seems fair. The quality of their work, responsiveness and professionalism is very good. They always come when they say they will.

They got it down on time, and it works well. There was a situation with the price being higher when it got done.

The service company we had before, which was recommended by the manufacturer, was unresponsive and acted like it was a major imposition on them when we would call with a problem that they were required to take care of under their service contract.McNutt was like a breath of fresh air, cheerfully responding to our calls and fixing the problems quickly and efficiently. My only negative with them is that they do not change the oil at every 6 month scheduled maintenance. They say it isn't necessary, I think it is preferable. However, based on their track record, I'm sure they will take care of this.

We though we had air conditioning problems but we had electrical problems. One of the legs coming into the house was bad. We called McNutts and they responded quickly. They were going to have someone come out the next day. When we found out what the problem was we did not need them. They are very professional and do a good job. We will continue to use them.

They were very professional. They were on time. They cleaned up after themselves. They were reasonably priced. They were very good. I will use them again in the future.

I like the workers. They're always very friendly. They explain everything to me. They come on time. I've never had any problems with them.

They generally do a pretty good job. They had a bit of problem on their last visit as they didn't put in the carbon monoxide detector as they were supposed to, and I had an inspector come who then made them come back to put in the carbon monoxide detectors. Their pricing is relative to what I get and for the product that I had, the price was good. I would use them again in the future.

They are very good and I would rate them very high. I would use them again in the future.

I have been using them for years for heating and air and just found out that they do electrical and plumbing also. They always get back to me within a day.

I had used them for years, then the co. was sold. the tech's who came to service the house started to come with attitudes. Once. I called back with a question and the tech told me that he had plans for the weekend and could not come by. this was on a friday. I wanted to replace the duct work for the h/a and called to talk to someone. well the person to talk to was out of the office. I called twice again and never got a call back. Good luck with them.

They come twice a year to check our generator. It's $250 a year. His price is comparable to the one I used before him. I give them high ratings and will continue to use them in the future.

I will use this company again in the future.

We are very pleased with their service. They are easy to work with and are flexible if we need to change an appointment.

They gave great service with fair prices.
