+ -1 moreStay FAR away from this company. Just look at the pics! We hired them to put in a stainless steel liner, damper, crown, and tuck-point the mortar joints on a wood burning fireplace. When the job was done we complained about the horrible tuckpointing and crown work. The tuckpointing was not smooth or even filled into the joints. The crown was not smooth because they poured it into a wrinkled plastic liner. Complained to Richie Baxley (owner). He told us we were "too picky"! He agreed to have his workers come back and smooth the crown better. They tried but the cement was set too much to do a lot. The damper is impossible for me to open and close as it binds and is too tight even with my weight on it. The chimney will not draft so smoke comes into our home! So our fireplace is not usable after we paid for everything because smoke backs up into our home. Richie is arrogant and does not work with you. He blames everyone but himself. Tried to work with him and he never has fixed it!!

Technician Zach and his helper, Ryhanna were knowledgeable and resolved all questions and concerns. Office does a great job with scheduling and follow-up of service after completed. Detailed inspection report with duct camera pictures is given for your records.

Description of Work: I was supposed to get a chimney inspection on April 25, 2022, the secretary called me on April 22, to confirm appointment, I canceled the appointment with her. About 15 min later I got a call from the owner of the company, he called me names over the phone and told me he was going to charge my credit card they asked me for before they would come out to my home, he then hung up. I called back, the owner took the call and asked me if I was calling back to reschedule my appointment, I told him I was calling the better business bureau

+ 0 moreWe were very pleased with James Ends the technician. Him and his assistant did a thorough job. We were provided photos of what was inspected and discovered. They resolved the leak we did not know we had. We chose to have the chimney brick sealed with a chimney sealant they brought to the job this cost $355 an is good for 10 years.
Description of Work: Work performed: Inspect and sweep the insert, fireplace and chimney. Inspection of chimney which has a metal liner installed in the flue revealed rust on the galvanized chimney cover base and a separation at the base of the riser. Water was probably leaking in. Original installers used silicone caulk to join the base and riser. Technician recommended sealing the chimney brick.

Description of Work: Chimney repair, of which there are _many_ types. $200 for an ESTIMATE!?? Under the guise of a written report, blah blah blah. Whoopdee do! Give me a break!! Awful!! There are so many helpful good hard working people out there willing to give you a FREE estimate, which is the cornerstone of a good business. No need to waste money!

+ -1 moreJames (lead) and Tim arrived on time, and thoroughly and carefully cleaned our very dirty gas fireplace. They also put camera up the chimney to determine if it was safe or not. also climbed on the roof and cleaned debris from off of around where the chimney and roof met. They answered all our questions (including those about our fireplace at our primary home). They were polite and very professional. I would highly recommend them and use them again. they even honored the Angie's List coupon even though we couldn't seem to download it from off our computer.

+ 1 moreThe job went extremely well. It was a two day process, and the two installers who did the work were very professional, congenial, and respectful of our home.
Description of Work: We had our chimney swept and inspected by Environmental Chimney Service. Through an excellent inspection conducted by James and Cory, it was determined that there were several gaps between the flue tiles and general deterioration of the flue and smoke chamber. Also, the crown needed some repair and a new chimney cap was installed. Finally, the Heat Shield flue sealant was applied, followed by a resurfacing of the flue using Heat Shield once again.

Knowing the chimney and pipes are all cleaned out makes me feel safe, the heat is more effective, and little did I know that clean smoke is coming out of top of chimney, where before it was billowing like a rampant fire which was actually the creosote burning. I was lucky to have found these people, doing what is right and safe!!!!
Description of Work: Had smoke backing up in wood furnace. Just bought home in July. Owner said he cleaned it out.twice, Called for help , cleaning and inspection. They saved my house from catching fire and it was close with built up creosote in chimney flue smoldering, almost completely clogged in lower end of chimney, pipes from furnace had 1/2 inch creosote lining them. when they came and took apart the pipes one going into the chimney was completely deteriorated, I ran off to local hardware and bought new pipes( 45 dollars)and they installed them with no extra charge from cleaning and inspection. They gave me an Angies List discount and I slept like a baby knowing all had been taken care of, felt safe. These people are very efficient and have tackled the worst build up ever and still only charged routing cleaning and inspection for their efforts. They saved my house and family and with the before and after pictures and complete report. I will definitly call them annually for making sure my furnace is safe and sound for each winter.

+ 0 moreOriginal timeline was three days. On the first day an ARMY of workers arrived and started the job immediately. The work was non-stop, no stalling or lolligaging performing the job in an orchestrated fasion. They were professional, competent and finished at budget and one day early. To us, one of the things that makes a house coszy is a warm fire in the winter...we have that now in the upstairs living room and the downstairs den. I wonder if the neighbors would think we were nuts if we built a fire in July! They have my business for life!
Description of Work: Folks installed Heat Shield relining system in two chimney's bottom to top in both. Heat shielded the smoke chambers in both the up and down stair fireplaces. Referished dual crown to boot.

+ -1 moreEverything went great. Richie and Steve were on time, courteous, professional and did a great job. The first visit they cleaned out my chimney, took a video camera and showed me what the inside of the chimney looked like and where it would need a sealant put on it. I was given an estimate on that first visit and the price was what the estimate was. When they returned to fix my fireplace put tarps over my furniture and carpet so there wouldn't be a mess and there wasn't. They were very helpful and answered all of my questions in a way that I would understand what was going to happen. I would highly recommend this comopany to anyone looking to have their chimney cleaned or have their fireplace replaced.

+ -1 moreWas not on time, BUT he was nice enough to call and let me know he was running late. Seemed like a very trustworthy outfit. Definitely appeared to know what he was talking and projected confidence. Was pricier than others; however, they are licensed and I'm not really one to go with the cheapest, prefer experience. Unfortunately, found a lot of problems with the chimney that we can't afford to fix. He was responsive with a price quote on needed work.
