Dusty's Painting Plus

Dusty provided very reasonable estimate to prep and paint our entire home. He is quite busy so actual start date can be a bit challenging to schedule. He and his one assistant were very responsive and did quality work. Dusty returned to do requested touch ups. There was some confusion on whether kitchen would be done in semi-gloss or flat and how much work would be done in garage. Regardless Dusty was a pleasure to work with and we are very satisfied with total effort. We would not hesitate to use his services again and highly recommend him to others.

Dusty returned my call almost immediately and came over to the house that evening. We received his quote the next day and scheduled the work.. They moved furniture out of the way and did a great job. There was a week or two delay in power washing the house because of weather and a back log of work, but the house looked great when he was completed. His work helped us get a offer on the house after only one day.

Dusty was great! He was on time everyday and he did a really good job. My house looks amazing. He talked me into crown molding which completes my living room, dining room, and hall. I am sure glad that I listened to him. I was very happy with him and would recommend him to anyone. He was very accommodating and very thorough and he made sure that I was happy with the job that he did (which to me was very important). I thought he did such a good job that I also hired him to do all my shutters on the outside.

Cost was less than half of the other company. They were prompt and worked hard. The home was vacant and carpeting was removed, so they did not need to work around furniture or worry about the floors getting a few drops of paint. But they were still neat and clean. Left me the leftover paint, which was a plus, as I needed it to do some touch-ups for some small changes I had planned. Did try to upsell for power washing the outside of the home (that, admittedly, needed it) but just asked the question and gave an estimate, didn't push and wasn't aggressive about it. I would definitely use them again.

I spent about $5800 total. He was a very nice man. The work was not good and I had to bring him back multiple ties to fix a lot of stuff. We were working on a big renovation project since last summer and we needed the entire interior of the home painted and it was very poorly executed. Between my husband and I, it took us 4 hours to tell the guy all of his mistakes. It wasn't well done. His bid was quite bit lower than bigger companies with bigger crews. I'm not happy with the job that he did but he was cheaper and he was a nice guy.

I was putting my house for sale and Dusty understood this very well. The job was very good. The cost was very reasonable, and we sold our house in 8 days.

I am a residential architect and use Angie's List both for my own home/s and as research in finding quality contractors for my clients. Before I made the purchase of the BIG DEAL, I contacted Dusty to see that he would paint at my new home in Edgewater. We had a good discussion. This location was not a location on the account (based on my Cheverly home office) but he agreed to perform the services as it was the same distance from his office in Bowie to Cheverly as it was from Bowie to Edgewater. Therefore, I purchased the Big Deal for his painting services. I could not be there the day that he came by to view the project. My husband reported that Dusty complained that Edgewater was not an agreed location. Overall, my husband was completely frustrated by Dusty's visit and felt that the price Dusty quoted was very high. He added on every minor task to the cost of our 'Big Deal'. I agreed with Dusty to perform basic services to meet the requirements of the Big Deal, but after that time we could never agree on a date that he would come and paint. He cancelled on us and then would only come on a weekend. However, with a family of three boys and sports it was nearly impossible to schedule on a Saturday. We finally had arranged to have a neighbor come to the house to get it done, and then Dusty cancelled again! The entire situation was extremely disappointing and a waste of my time. I would have thought Dusty could recognize that my company is a source of future work. And yet, he was unable to execute a simple job. I would like a refund for the amount I paid for the Big Deal. From the beginning it was a great experience. Although Dusty was on vacation, he answered my email right away. He started work quickly. He also gave professional ideas of paint accents that I would not have thought about. The job was completed within four days and I was extremely happy with the results. Everyone who has seen my condo has commented on the beautiful paint job . It is like having new furniture. It really makes an impression. I will definitely use Dusty again.

I purchased a deal to have my dinning room painted. He only painted the walls and plastered a hole behind the door. He didn't wait on it to try, he told me to paint that spot myself. No baseboards included and the wall color got on the door. I can see spots of the previous wall color.

I purchased a $149 Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it was good. The service was good and the product was high quality. I ended up going over the Big Deal price because I did not calculate what the deal covered so I had to spend more money. The square footage I needed to have painted exceeded the specifications of the Big Deal.

He came on time to give me an estamate. We settled on the price and he went right to work. It took him about 4 hrs. I had to call him back out the next day. He missed a few spots. No problem, he came right over and now the ceiling looks great. A job well done. I will hire him back when I get some more projects .

It went pretty well. We did the bedroom in the first session and bathroom in a separate appointment. Dusty had to do an additional coat on the bedroom when he back for the follow-up appointment, and I had to put an additional coat on the bathroom to cover some of the areas that needed touch-ups. Overall, Dusty is very professional and friendly, but the work did require some follow-up on my part.

I didn't like color of bath ceiling and he came back and repainted at know charge.

The work was fine, he did miss a couple of spots that I noticed after he left. The guy that did the work was very personable. He responded quickly when I called and he was punctual.

Arrived on time with the correct materials - worked diligently until the job was finished.

Services were completed as requested and I was pleased.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service. I think he is a good painter and he is very nice, but I was disappointed with a couple of things. One is that I do not remember seeing in the specifics that ceilings were not done. I just saw that they did not paint walls above 10 feet. I had hoped it was going to be a small room so it wasn't. He did come when he said he was and he did a nice job of what he did. I asked him if he would contact me again so we could talk about painting other rooms because without the ceiling I still needed to have some stuff done, but I never heard from him. I thought not painting the ceilings were an issue.

Dusty's painting was just outstanding. The job took 5 days and was accomplished with the best results. We are very pleased with the work and with the owner, Dusty. We were asked each day to look over their work for any problem areas and when shown to them they were taken care of with a smile. . They did some work beyond the original scope without a word of complaint. David, who was the a carpenter, accomplished some door repair work that was outstanding. Dusty is a Christian gentleman and this showed in his personality and his work ethics. They cleaned up each days work which was placed in an area that did not disturb our normal routine. I would recommend this company to anyone. It was a real pleasure knowing all the crew members.

Dusty came on Monday for an estimate, which beat my other estimate by more than $200 and did the work on friday. He and his helper completed the work in 2 1/2 hours, it looks great.

Due to a copied house key not working, Dusty was delayed a day but was able to finish the living room and master bedroom in 4 days so that we could move in after this was done. Everything went as planned and Dusty worked with us a little bit on the total cost which we appreciated. My wife still talks about how much better the living room looks to this day. The door to the master bedroom had been removed by the seller had been removed by the seller. He agreed to reinstall it, replace the knob/lock and paint it for an additional $125 (not included in the $34000 above). It was a pleasure working with him. It seemed that the price was somewhat higher than we expected but the service was excellent.

I used an Angie's List Big Deal special purchase for this service. He did a pretty good job but there was a little bit of miscommunication when he came out the first day. He said he was unable to paint it that day and that he was just coming for an estimate. But he was very good at rescheduling and came back out very soon. We ended up not liking the color we picked but that was our fault, not his. He got a little bit of paint on the baseboards but overall it was a fine job.

All I can say about Dusty is WOW! One of the reasons for joining Angie's list was to have a few rooms painted. I selected Dusty for the Big Deal, but I great bargain. I purchased three other coupons on the same day, but Dusty was more proactive and called me to setup the appointment. Initially, I wanted to wait so I delayed for a month. After one month, Dusty returned my call and painted on a Saturday. He arrived on time and painted my entire room in less than three hours. It may have been closer to two hours but it was all a pleasant experience. The only thing better than his customer service is his personality. My living room was transformed in a few hours, but it was worth every penny. It was have taken my the whole day. I got him to quote a price for my kitchen, so he is coming back in a few weeks. Since I was not sure about which color for the kitchen, he kindly recommended the color to match the grout between the flooring tiles. I would have never thought of that idea, but I loved it. That's when I realized the difference between a painter (Dusty) and a person who paints (me). Wow! MT
