The overall average is an A- because of a 'non-electrical' but business related problem. They showed up about 10-15 min late with 3 workers.They were very professional, started right away and were done by 11:30AM. The clean up was completed by 11:45 and the bill was given to me for 3 hours, 9AM-12PM. That was the only problem I had and the only reason I couldn't give them a straight excellent for the entire job and say that I would use them again. Well Derek called me back with an explanation of the bill and it was a doozie. There was no offer of a partial refund to placate a disgruntled customer and there was no explanation as to why I paid $89. for the Angies List special and then there was ZERO credit for it on the bill, that's right ZERO as in $0.00. A great benefit of being an Angie's List Member.

They showed up on time (actually a little early). They did a good job. They cleaned up after themselves and worked quickly and efficiently. Both the switch and the outlet are working well. I would use them again

I've renovated several houses and worked with electrical contractors many times. Buckingham Electric provided excellent workmanship from start to finish. Could not be more satisfied.

They arrived ahead of schedule - after calling. They were very organized and worked very well as a team of 2. They were also very nice guys to boot!! That counts toward the overall experience today too. Highly recommended!!!!!!

The original appointment which I made about a week in advance was for the day before. We waited past the specified time and then received a call from the electrician stating that he was unable to purchase the materials necessary for this job, since his supplier had run out of the RF switches. When I reminded him that he had known for a week that he needed it, he stated that when he originally called his supplier, they had plenty in stock, but now was sold out. After he checked two other hardware suppliers in town unsuccessfully, he called and asked to reschedule for the next morning. It was somewhat of an inconvenience to have spent the afternoon waiting for him. We are in the process of moving into our new home and could have run several necessary errands instead. Oh well, stuff happens! The next morning, two electricians showed up pretty much on time, they were polite and careful not to traipse any dirt into the house (onto our freshly cleaned carpets), they worked efficiently and cleaned up very well after themselves. They were done in less than an hour, so they checked several light switches that didn't seem to be connected to anything. I have no quarrel with their workmanship as it was excellent. The bill, however, was somewhat of a nasty surprise. When I ordered the service, and discussed what I needed with the electrician, he stated that the easiest would be to install the RF Module Switch and queried about the cost, he thought it would run about "a hundred dollars, plus another 40 or 50 for the rest of the materials". I specifically asked him about the "deal" on Angie's list = 2men for 1 hour at $89 and he stated that it would take no more than an hour. Here is the final cost he billed me: $200 for the RF switch, $46 for the rest of the materials, and 2 two man hours at at $179 for a grand total of $425. When I questioned the second hour, since they were in my home just 1 hour, I was told that I had to pay for them driving to their supplier to get the material etc, in other words, their clock starts running when they leave their shop and that cost me a whole hour! I would have expected to be made aware of this when I booked the appointment. Also, the electrician stated that he had installed an RF Switch in his own home, so he should have known how much these things cost and give me an appropriate estimate. In retrospect, I find that the "deal" thru Angie's list turned out not to be a bargain at all -- I had another independent bid to do the work for $300 (including travel time) and would have been better off with that. Update: I find the response of this company somewhat offensive. We contracted for "one hour of electrical work" at a set price (which BTW we were asked NOT to book via Angie's List). We were not told that we had to pay for a second hour in travel time. The "decent sized list of other electrical needs you wanted" consisted of checking 4 electrical outlets to ascertain they were connected and rendering one light switch inoperative which were performed by your assistant, all within the one hour time span. I never told the technician "never mind, we can do it tomorrow", as a fact i was pretty annoyed that I had been waiting for him past the time he gave for his arrival when he called an asked me to reschedule for the next day.

Job well done. Would use again.

Purchased the Angie?s list $89 for 2 hours of Electric Labor with Buckingham Electric Inc. Set up the appointment and told them we had several trouble shooting projects. On that day, Derrick and Brandon called ahead to say they were coming and arrived on time. I would like to say these are two very nice young men. We had a typed list ready for them. Mostly these items were problems we found over time which we could work around and never had time to address. 1. Jacuzzi bath tub doesn?t work 2. Outlet on kitchen bar causes default breaker to switch off 3. Kitchen light over sink doesn?t work 4. Problem with light switch in small upstairs bathroom 5. Outlet in Master Bath doesn?t work #1. Once we took off the tub?s enclosure, it was found that it was tripped and the vacuum line was broken. They tested the tub out and everything works. My husband is handy and will enclose the tub and install a new vacuum line on the outside. #2. Outlet tested out fine. Recommended that when using heavy kitchen tools, use them at the outlet, not the bar. #3. Kitchen light had not been connected. They fixed the connection. #4. The switch was bad. They replaced it. #5. Outlet was not wired properly. Could have been dangerous if it had worked. They corrected it. We found Derrick and Brandon to be knowledgeable and efficient. They explained everything to my husband?s satisfaction. They were here 2 hours and were paid an extra $90.00. We recommend Buckingham Electric and are happy that we now have electricians we trust and will call on again. This is the first time we have used Angie's List and could not be more pleased.

I didn't tell them the exact plug that was on the appliance before they arrived. They readied the area in the garage, quickly ran to a hardware store and back, and wired the new outlet very fast. There were two of them (which would be two man hours for one actual hour), but since it was a straightforward job with really only one person's worth of work, they only charged for a total of two man hours (total time was about two hours) - very fair. Price was for the deal of $99 for two hours, and some money for parts.

later that day.. I was very favorably impressed with the service and attitude of the provider. I will call them if I need electrical service in the future.

Derek turned up with his assistant on time and did the job quickly and efficiently and cleaned up afterwards. They were polite and very professional. I particularly appreciated the way he kept in contact to tell me about his availability and timing of his visit as we did have some trouble getting a time when we would both be available for the work. I would have no problems with recommending Buckingham Electric to any of my friends. I will use them again in future if I have electrical problems.

2 guys came out for 1 hour instead. Not the same as they worked together on most projects. I did not get as much done as I had hoped.

They (two men) called to let me know they were on the way, showed up at the appointed time and completed all of the tasks that we requested within two hours. They were very professional, friendly, hard-working and knowledgeable. There were a couple of minor clean-up issues that could have been addressed (e.g. left cover off of one light switch and left some ceiling "popcorn" on the floor from the fan installation) but not a big deal and I would and definitely will use them again.

Buckingham sent two men who arrived on time quickly analyzed the problem and made the necessary repairs. They were knowledgeable and professional and I much appreciated their service.

I bought a deal for two hours of electrical labor for $89. The start was fine; they know what they are doing and the quality of the work was good. I did not have them finish the job because their estimate for the remaining work seemed a bit too high.

Two electricians very personable and professional. Did not waste any time and as you can see from the list they got a lot done in two hours! Would definitely use them again. In fact, I am scheduling another visit later this month to repair outside security light and add another.

Arrived on time; completed all work; have additional work now and in the future and I will use Derek again.

The next week Duke Energy came to the house to upgrade the overhead power line to our house. When I asked the men to also replace the two wires in the electrical box they informed me that I, the homeowner, was responsible for any wiring attached to my house, including anything inside the electrical box. Later that day I talked to Derek on the phone. He made no apologies or explanations but was clear that he thought he had done plenty of work for his pay. He told me if I still wanted the wires changed out though he would schedule another time to do that but he would have to charge me again, more than the first time.

There were no problems, and everything went well.

We purchased the Angie's List coupon for $89/2hr work. We called Buckingham a week before service call to go over the work list, which included on/off switch at 240v pump house well, outlet for front porch and extension of tv cable in living room. On day of service, Derreck, the owner's son, and his helper called in the morning to verify address and give us their eta. Upon arrival and explanation of work list, Derreck said that they would have to go into town to purchase disconnect part for well house work. They began work on the outlets, which consisted of running power from two indoor outlets through log wall (drilling cable holes). Then, they left to go into town for parts. This took approximately 40 minutes r/t. When they came back, they completed the work. They did excellent, clean service and were very polite. Parts were $110, and labor was for three hours. One hour/2 workers with $89 coupon and 2 additional hours with 2 workers at $89/hr. I will hire Buckinham again for future electrical work.

It went beautifully. We purchased an Angie's List Deal for this service last March and finally got around to scheduling the 2 hours of service. We had a misplaced chandelier after switching rooms around. We also needed lighting and a ceiling fan in the same room, different location. I called Derrick to schedule and was given a date and time for the following week. Derrick kept in touch as to arrival time so we did not have to wait around unnecessarily. He arrived with his assistant on schedule and did all that was asked. He explained all that was to be done, gave suggestions as to the location of the new ceiling fan and worked quickly. The area was left clean and we were very pleased with the results. We will use Buckingham Electric in the future, without a doubt.

It went very well. They showed up punctually, greeted me, evaluated the problems and got straight to work. I had not purchased an Angie's List Deal, but since I am a member and got their number from here, they honored a deal anyway. Nice guys and will definitely use them again.

Booking the appointment was very easy; Derek showed up with another electrician so we received two man-hours of work in one hour, which was very convenient. They worked quickly and efficiently with no real fuss or mess, and they also advised us on future work that may need to be done. Our house is over 150 years old, so pre-electricity, and we were worried we might have to re-wire the entire house sooner rather than later. They were able to reassure us that no, we did not need to rewire the house, and give us some advice on the bits and pieces of electrical work that did need doing; another outlet replaced with a GFI and a separate circuit for the fridge. All in all, we will most likely be calling these folks again for that future work, they were very friendly, efficient, and helpful.

They were polite, responsive and very professional in their work. Highly recommend and will use them in future electrical work.

Ordered the $89 for two hours of service. They sent two workers for 1 hour which saved time. They worked efficiently and only needed 1 additional hour. They were very professional, arrived on-time, and did an excellent job.
