ASHEVILLE MULCH YARD

Ordering online was great--there were photos and descriptions of all available products, right down to measurements of the delivery truck so we could be sure they had adequate access in our driveway. We requested AM or PM delivery on the day of our choice, and they called on that day to let us know exactly when they were coming. The delivery people were super nice, and the whole experience was great. We'll be placing a garden soil order soon, and will plan to keep using Asheville Mulch Yard in future years.

We didn't purchase any mulch, but everyone was very nice.

The price was very reasonable and competitive. They were responsive, and said when they were going to deliver it. They gave me a phone call prior to delivery, and showed up right when they said they would.

I have been using these guys for the last 3 years, this will be my last year if I can find another supplier. That may be the problem, they are probably the biggest in town and always busy. I called in this year after trying to order online because it said to call a specific number if I wanted to mix deliveries. The man was very gruff, and rudely stated and quot;where did you get this #and quot; ? He then took my order and said he would relay it to my local yard. It never showed up, and they never called, lost the order I guess. I am too busy to do everyone's job for them and hold their hand so I did not have time to call back for a week+, bummer, no mulch, trying to garden all the while. I call back 2 separate times on different days, no answer, I get a recording that does not tell me to leave a message, so I don't, since I don't know if they are checking messages. I finally get through to a person and they tell me I have to call another number as they don't have the schedule in front of them, I then explain what has happened to me as now I've finally lost patience. They get angry with me, I said I'm just telling you my experience as a customer, I'm not yelling at you, and I'm about done using A.M.Y. These guys have always been a little gruff, they need some customer service phone training and a central schedule and dispatch. I'm done with the games, I'm the customer, I'm just trying to order mulch, get over yourselves.

I ordered 2 separate products--soil for my new garden beds, and mulch for existing beds in the morning and had the product delivered in the afternoon. When the truck arrived, the soil was packed next to the mulch. The delivery guy said it would be dumped in one big mixed-together pile. When I told him that that was unacceptable, he told me to call Leo in the office. Leo told me he would separate it, but charge me 2 separate delivery charges (a total of $80). Leo stated that he they told me it would be mixed together--which he did not, or I would not have purchased this product. I will not use Asheville Mulch Yard again.

They were very willing to work with us and dump it into different areas. It took a lot of work and it was nice of them to fulfill our needs as to where we wanted it. My husband does a lot of research so it must have been a good price.
