Airvent installed a retractable awning in 2003 and, I believe, the power retractor in 2004. The unit has performed well to 2013. However, approximately May, 2012 I called to have someone see about replacing the valance that has been frayed by wind. I called back in June, 2012 and was told that there was a service call in progress and a technician would call me when he scheduled the visit. I called again around May, 2013 approximately three separate times over a week before I spoke with a live person. That person was curt and borderline rude. At no time did anyone from Airvent ever call me back. As of October 14, 2013, I have not heard from them and the valance is still frayed. Under no circumstances will I ever call these people again.

We LOVE our new sunroom. It's added so much usable space to our house. It looks and feels just like part of the original house, not like an add-on. And it's a year-round room since it has heat and air-conditioning. From the initial meeting for the estimate to the very end of the process, everyone was totally professional--and courteous. We felt like we had friends building the sunroom, not hired workers. David & Hector built a really nice deck with a landing and steps. This deck is sturdy enough to withstand anything NC weather can throw at it. They added little finishing touches that aren't normally seen on a deck but that pay tribute to the craftsmen that David & Hector are. Even the building inspector was impressed by the quality touches and said so. Then Brandon & Adam came to build the sunroom atop the deck. It was quite a task since it was a custom build, and not a small one, but the guys were up to it. There were many times when we wondered how they would tackle some logistical problem, but they always had it planned out. If we thought they had missed something or there was something that needed fixing, they were already aware of it and had plans to set it straight. They did an excellent job, as did David & Hector. It took longer than expected, but, again, it was totally a custom job. There was no slacking off with either of these teams. These guys worked non-stop, except, of course, for a lunch break. I wouldn't hesitate to have them do work for me again. They are solid, reliable, skilled craftsmen. I went into this build being a bit apprehensive since I had a bad experience with a sunroom installation by another builder at my previous house. I was encouraged when I viewed the Air Vent Exteriors website and saw the custom applications of sunrooms. Their sunrooms looked like they were an integral part of the house. When Bob Carnes came to give me an estimate, I was impressed by his knowledge. He had some good ideas on how to integrate the sunroom into the overall layout of the house.

Their service was pretty good. Their product was excellent. The installation had a few hiccups but in the end worked out well. They had good follow up with any issues.

They were on time. They were very up front on when they would be able to build awnings. The awnings seem to be of high quality. They were prompt as well.

Overall, the experience went well. Their price seemed to be the best out of the other estimates I received. I was pleased with them and I would use them again!

I called them and they quoted the job with a 5% cash discount. They ordered the windows. The windows came in and they installed them. The service was punctual and courteous. The prices were in line with norms for these windows and the crew was punctual and professional. Everything went smoothly.

They paid attention to details like keeping the work area clean. One handle had to be replaced. They ordered the part and came out to replace it as soon as it came in.

Good quality work performed as promised.

I’m very pleased with their services. They were a bit behind on their deadline; they told me it would take about 4 weeks but it ended up taking about five. Other than that, everything went well. Their workmanship and quality of the awnings are good.

It starts at the top but it runs throughout our experience with everything about how you do business and who you employ. Your bid was higher than the other bids we received but we got the value we were looking for. We appreciated your prompt response to our request for a bid. Your experience was invaluable. You gave our ideas consideration and explored some aspects of windows and doors that we may not have considered. In a situation in which some stucco might be impacted, you immediately had two or three ways to minimize the impact on this ten year old product. The Air-Vent Exteriors bid was presented to allow for two different possible choices so we could make the final choice with all the information needed. You also gained our confidence when showing us the quality of the window and door products in your new expanded showroom. You and your staff showed us what to look for in a quality product. We even learned how the screens are made and what a difference that could make if one was damaged. We appreciate that the manufacturer would produce the windows to our specifications and your measurements. They would use their own staff and their own truck to transport the three windows and four sliding glass doors to your company and that you would store them until each product was needed for that day?s work. We were also very pleased by the professionalism of your employees and the Air-Vent trucks parked on-site. Your employees respected our home and belongings. They laid protective materials for any passage that they would use and cleaned up daily. Each one quickly earned our confidence in their ability to do the work, their work ethic, and the ease with which we could all accommodate each other. This was just over one week?s work ; a minimal amount of time to make the desired modifications for the three windows and four sliding glass doors. As site manager, David kept us well informed, easily addressed questions, and kept everyone safe even when working on a slope twenty-five feet up in the air. With thirty years of comprehensive construction experience, David could confidently guide Hector and Brandon in their work. Stopped by Air-Vent Exteriors one day on a whim - never thought we would be able to afford one of their screen rooms - let alone a full sunroom. Met with the owner Robert Carnes one Saturday morning and he was so informative, enthusiastic and gracious that we asked him to come out to do an estimate for us. He came out and spent a couple of hours with my husband looking at the deck and asking questions about what we wanted. When we went back to complete the contract we decided to see what a sunroom would be - upgrade to 4 inch walls and glass. The price was SO reasonable we went with the upgrade that included an insulated roof. It was only about $2500.00 more for the upgrade. SO EXCITED. We were told that they were running about a month out on new jobs. We gladly waited. It turned out to be more like 8 weeks but once they started we were impressed with the workers and their respect for us and our home. They worked on and off - it rained so much during their 2 weeks installing our room that it was slow and tedious work - but we couldn't be any happier with our room!!! The workmanship and beauty of the addition is exceptional. Way more than ever expected - and we will ALWAYS refer people to this company. We have spent a lot of money making our home nice to match the area and this is probably the best money we have invested so far. They went above and beyond what our expectations were - and in this day and age that is truly saying alot. Thank you for giving us such wonderful service and an outstanding finished product!

The attention we received during the sales presentation, ordering and installation was outstanding. All representatives were knowledgable and professional. We discovered we had a problem shortly after installation and contacted AirVent Exteriors. We were told that the schedule for that week had already been prepared and would they would not be able to help us that week. They advised that the following week's schedule would be prepared on Friday and they would let us then when they could get to us. On Friday we called to determine when they would be coming and were told that we were not on the schedule for the following week. Since we are only at the Asheville location part-time, we told them we needed to have this addressed before we left. Later the following week we were told they would come on Saturday, July 7. During that visit the technician told us what he thought the problem was, but he did not have the necessary parts and was not trained to make the repair in any event. We advised that we would be leaving early the next week and he promised to get back to us quickly to let us know when they could schedule someone. We still have not heard from anyone at AirVent Exteriors. Since we are going back to Asheville in a few days, I called today (August 24) to inquire on the status and was told that no one was in the office who could help me and that someone would contact me next week. I don't know if this lack of post-transaction service is typical of AirVent Exteriors, or if we unfortunately just fell through a crack somehow. Everyone was very approachable and responsive up to and including installation and payment, but have been impossible to reach since then with absolutely no follow-up on their part. We hope that they will ultimately stand behind their work and product.

When we received the original estimate, it was estimated that installation would happen in 4 to 6 weeks. It was installed at approximately the 6 week mark. The installer were prompt, courteous, and professional.

The project went as planned with the exception of the number of days to complete. Originally it was scheduled for a two - three day project, but ended up being five to six days. I believe Air Vent "busy season" had begun and the installer on my project worked most days alone. That was not a problem and the work was first class. I would highly recommend Air Vent for this type home addition.

Appointments kept in timely fashion, estimate provided, promise kept, installed in quality fashion, and everything I would expect.

Jayson Carnes, part-owner and sales person, was very knowlegable about the building process in detail. He took all the time needed for us to explore options and accommodated our wishes. The job started and finished on time. The crew really knew what they are doing in building this customized sunroom. When we brought up questions or concerns as the project was underway, he made sure that things were done as we wished, for example the route of drainage away from the house. When the electrician left the indoor carpet dirty, Mr. Carnes made sure this was cleaned to our satisfaction. When an electrical box was not to our likeing, they replaced it with a suitable one. While Airvent does not usually do roofing jobs, we were concerned about having one group do the roofing on the house and another group doing the roofing on the sunroom. Airvent contracted the entire roofing job as part of our contract with them. We are delighted with the sunroom and the way Airvent handled this job. Thank you, Jayson, and crew.

We found them to be very nice, But seem to be allot more then other estimate, we revived If it was based on personalty we would have pick them. They were great!

Estimates were prompt and helpful (what design, configuration, etc.)...pricing was in line with project done by them for us in late 2010...did not get any other bids this time because we were so satisfied with earlier job. Job was done at time committed and complete cleanup was handled. Very professional installers, took great care not to damage any surrounding areas...these guys know what they are doing.

I was very satisfied with their work. I think that they could work on their communication. After they ordered for the windows they could have told me how long it would take as I didn’t get a phone call and more time passed I had to call them to get an update. So they should be more pro-active with their communication.

They did a great job. Appts. were kept on time, nice installers, and good workmanship.
