Description of Work: They are out of my price range for my budget but the quality they can provide would have been exceptional. Wish I could use them but again too expensive for my budget.

We are truly sorry that [Member Name Removed] feels he had a bad experience. We would have been able to do his project in 3 days. We were contacted by him on 7/10/14 and scheduled an appointment for 7/16. We had 7 different email correspondence during this time period. We estimated his job to be $3850 for a wall removal, which consisted of permits, demo, removal of debris, framing for the new header/opening, and relocation of electrical. I am not sure who was providing the other bids. We would have loved to have served you. We are truly sorry it did not work out.

Luke was very responsive and very aware of what was going on. A couple of unexpected issues were handled very professionally and without any delay. Workers were considerate and polite. I felt comfortable leaving my house with them in it and having access to the house. The total project took a little longer than initially planned, but some of that was due to our delays with family coming in over the holidays. Luke was not pushy about getting his money and wanted to make sure I was satisfied with all the work.
Description of Work: Wall was removed between our living room and family room. An engineered beam was installed. Electrical work was done to add some overhead lighting and outlets. A wall was extended creating a hallway. An engineered beam was installed between our dining room and kitchen. Hardwood floors were installed in carpeted areas. The hardwoods that were already in our house were refinished to match the new floors. Handrails were installed on front steps. New front door was installed.

Overall the project when quite well. There were a few delays in getting the correct columns in from the manufacturers but Luke and Catherine were good about letting us know about slight delays as they came up. Both the work in the bathroom and in the front deck was very high quality. It has been almost 8 months since they did this work and the front deck still looks like new! I would very strongly recommend Wake Remodeling to anyone. They were extremely professional, friendly, and easy to work with. Most importantly Luke knows what he is doing and performs the work flawlessly!
Description of Work: We had them redo our front porch and front stairs including replacing all the wood floor on the front porch and stairs with a composite material (Trex Transcend) which looks like stained wood but has a much longer life and does not need to be repainted. We also had them replace two large wood columns which were starting to rot, with columns made of composite materials. Finally we needed to replace a shower door, add some tile and trim work in our master bathroom.

I've had a few jobs performed by Wake Remodeling, and had a good experience with all of them. I will continue to call on them when I do more projects on my home. Communication and responsiveness isn't always timely, but once the jobs got scheduled, everyone was punctual, professional, and did a good job. They have definitely helped to make my home more beautiful and functional. The jobs they performed for house included crown molding installation and general repairs.

Luke and Catherine exemplify customer focused service. Catherine went with me to the showroom and helped me choose the backsplash and come up with a design and we love it. We were very pleased with the contractor crew and quality of work. There was only one minor issue with the backsplash accent thinking we had ordered one accent vs another. They both worked diligently with us to resolve it quickly and get what we wanted. They were very professional and customer oriented. It was a great experience all around compared to the independant contractor we worked with for other major work done on the exterior. We were impressed with Luke and Catherine from the first time we met them at the Home Show in October 2011 and highly recommend Wake Remodeling for your project. They did a great job and 5 months later we are still very pleased with the quality and look. Use them...you won't regret it! They are a young, conscientious couple committed to growing their business one client at a time with a focus on personal attention and satisfaction!
Description of Work: Wake Remodel updated our kitchen with new granite countertops, sink, disposal, trash/recycle bin, cabinet access door, and tile backspach all around kitchen area.

When we started the process of picking a contractor, I have to admit, I was quite nervous. I am an avid watcher of HGTV's Mike Holmes' shows, Holmes on Homes and Holmes Inspection. I've seen over and over on the show people selectiing what they thought was an excellent contractor, only to get screwed in the end out of money and a livable space. We received several estimates, and found three whose price was acceptable and the plan was acceptable. (It seemed impossible to get an exact apples-to-apples price comparison because each had some "good idea" that wasn't in the others.) In the end we chose Wake Remodeling because of our checking of their references, our perception of their flexibility, their stated willingness to do whatever would make us satified, and our gut feeling of their professionalism and character. We just had a feeling that Wake Remodeling was, as Mike Holmes would say, "one of the good guys". It went excellently. Luke and wife Catherine held our hands every step of the way. We were most concerned that our choices for individual fixtures (tub, tile, plumbing, etc) would all be nice by themselves but not look nice when placed togther. While not offering a formal design service as part of the contract, Luke and Catherine went with us to pick out each item from granite to tile to plumbing fixtures. There was no extra charge for this effort. The offered suggestions not only related to design but to cost and function. The end desgn has pleased us to no end. The contract had allowances for each of the major categories of items he would supply. Luke and Catherine had apparently assessed our tastes and budget accurately because the result was that we spent just about right-on the allowance. Luke and Catherine were very flexible and patient as we added and changed items in developing the contract. In the end I added my own language to the contract requiring work to be completed beyond "usual and prevailing quality" to be completed "with excellence". Luke readily agreed to that, and I must say lived up to that standard in the final product. On the couple of occasions where either Luke or I spotted items done by tradesmen that were not to that standard, Luke had the work redone or, in fact, did it himself. At appropriate points along the way, as agreed to, Luke was careful to ask us our preferences, for instance in the exact positioning of wall niches or placement of lights, or towel racks. During the whole effort Lukes team was careful with our house. You must understand that not only were 3 of our bathrooms involved, but for the polybutylene remediation, sheet rock was opened in four other rooms. While you will always get an accumulation of dust, they went to exta effort to put butcher paper on wood floors the tradesmen would walk on, and stickum plastic sheeting on carpets. They also put up plastic cocooning around areas they worked in that would generate good amounts of dust. Despite all this care, we did have a soda spill on our carpet, but Luke was able to competely clean this up. I could tell though that he'd replace the whole carpet if it were necessary. We had only two items that we ended up adding post-contract-signing for a total of $200. To me the price was fair and the items were indeed beyond the scope of the orginal contract. While my recommendation is certainly glowing, small, unexpected items did go wrong, but Luke was always there to correct them. In the end the item that I was most pleased with was Luke clearly living up to his up-front statement that "we'll do whatever it takes to make you completely satisfied." We were completely satisfied indeed.
Description of Work: The contract included the following: • Total remodeling (in place) of a large master bath including our master closet. o Demolition included removal of tub, tile, vanities, toilet, lighting, mirrors, shower enclosure, and wall paper. o Installation included a new air jet tub, two new vanities (one double), granite counter tops, new tile for the shower walls and floor, new frameless shower enclosure, heated floor, new lighting, toilet, plumbing fixtures, entry barn door, and painting all around. • Partial remodeling of a powder room: new faucets, removal of wall paper and repainting• Partial remodeling of a family bath limited to replacement of two counter tops with vanities • Installation of a hose bib at a new location outside• Polybutylene remediation: replacement of all polybutylene water supply lines throughout the house with pex.
