Turf Wizards

Moved to NC from the AZ desert and didn't know the first thing about how to keep grass alive and weeds away, had neither at the old place. Most of my neighbors use Turf Wizards, so I tried them out. My yard went from a dump to a beautiful green carpet. I'll add one thing. Recently, I had a really frustrating misunderstanding with the owner regarding a fescue service. (Neither of us did something wrong, but a mistake was made) Was on the verge of cancelling and finding a new company. Brian was a gentleman throughout the process and instead of writing my frustrations off he remediated the situation. That meant a lot to me. Pretty sure he just locked in a customer for life, and I'm referring Turf Wizards to everyone who asks.

I have been using Turf Wizards for almost 2 years now, At the start everything was fine, but as soon as I had an issue I was meet with extremely unprofessional rude behavior (from who I presume is the owner Brian). Long story short, the day we had our second year of seeding, we had a huge storm which flooded the back yard. All of the seed pooled up in clumps, and the aerated holes were all filled. I called to see if they could help me by reseeding in the areas with all the seed washed away. The suspected owner who i spoke with said, " there is no need, its fine, we will touch up seeding later, I am not doing what is not needed, no one else has this issue why do you?". I called in hopes of help, but what I received was jerk behavior from someone not willing to help the customer. He also expressed that he cannot control mother nature. To which I replied, "you did not have to seed right before a storm has been forecasted either!" I canceled my service right after the call. Terrible attitude! Terrible service! Last spring I started with a provider who was great but had to stop work due to health issues. He informed me that he had passed his accounts on to Barrett & Atkins Lawn Maintenance and there would be no interruption of service. That transition went smoothly. Later in the season, Barrett & Atkins gave that group of accounts to Brian Holland at TurfWizards without informing me. With other things on my mind, I didn't notice a difference in service until December, which was when TurfWizards finally got around to billing me for their work -- the last 2 treatments of the season. The bills arrived in a small (not-legal sized) envelop, folded strangely, and were so late that one was already past due. I paid these promptly, not really phased. The big issue came this spring when weeds started out-pacing our still-dormant Bermuda grass. I called Barrett & Atkins because I didn't realize they'd off-loaded the account. (My only communication with the new providers had been paying them.) I asked when they would spray and/or put down pre-emergents and was told they'd given the account to TurfWizards, so I contacted TurfWizards with the same question. It took 3 FULL WEEKS for Brian Holland at TurfWizards to answer my MULTIPLE EMAILS with the information "All Barrett and Atkins accounts services were canceled back in December. I am sorry you were not informed." I'm still flabbergasted. I just don't get it. We were easy, no-fuss, promptly-paying customers. We're still trying to get a handle on the weed situation with a new lawn care provider. After being canceled without warning or notice, I cannot recommend this business.

They're good, they're average, we use them. I can't say spectacular but you know they seem to do an ok job.

It went very well. We have just started with them this year. We are waiting to see how the grass greens up as time wears on. I am very pleased with what they have done so far. For whatever treatments they do, it is $42 each time.

I would use them again in future.

I was very happy with the customer service, response time, and the improvements made to my lawn. I have received three lawn treatments thus far and have seen a dramatic improvement with each treatment. One thing that really impressed me with this company is how their level of customer service did not decline after gaining me as a customer. I also like how they contact me with plenty of notice as to when the next treatment is scheduled.

The team performed the service to both the front and back lawn in a timely and professional manner.

My yard was mostly dirt and weeds when they first began treatment. Now after only one season of treatment, my yard is dark green and about 90% of the bare spots and weeds are gone. I am extremely happy with the results and cannot wait to see what the yard looks like in the spring. Small company with big results and a friendly staff that actually care about the customer. I plan to use this company next season and would recommend them to anyone looking for a good lawn care service.

I have used many lawn care service companies over the years but Turf Wizards is the best company I have ever dealt with. Brian Holland and his team are very professional, do excellent work and show up when they say they will show up. Even with a yard that has a lot of clay in the soil we were able to get nice green grass in a short period of time. I strongly recommend their services!
