Triangle Reconstruction sealed our windows on the inside and outside, as well as our front door. We have noticed a big difference in the comfort of our home since they were here. My bathroom no longer feels like it's 20 degrees below the temperature in the house, and we no longer feel sudden chills in the air currents. They have made us feel warm and cozy and cutting down the drafts we were experiencing has been a healthy benefit. We are so very grateful to Mr. Robert Ayscue and Triangle Reconstruction and highly recommend their services. We will definitely use their services again, if we run into more problems.
Description of Work: We had a "leaky" house and cold air coming from underneath doors and windows.

The estimator arrived on time, inspected my crawl space, told me I didn't have any rot or damaged insulation that needed repair, gave me a quote for the job and called the technician to come and perform the job. The technician arrived in a timely manner and installed the plastic sheeting vapor barrier satisfactorily. My only concern is the price was a good bit more than I expected. The Big Deal price was $149 for 500 Sq Feet and I failed to determine the total sq ft of my ground floor before signing up. The additional charge of $670 surprised me. The estimator and installer did a good job.
Description of Work: Removed existing plastic sheeting and installed new plastic sheeting barrier wall to wall in my crawl space.

Made several email attempts to have the work done with limited or no response. Someone came out looked at what needed to be done and said he would be back. Part of the work was done. The person said he would be back to finish and never came back. Said he need another tool to finish the work. Several attempts were made to get in touch with the company to finish the work. No response until I asked for a refund and I was told to go through Angie's list to request one.

Everything turned out very well. Scheduling was very good. One technician was out here doing the work and he was here for about 3 hours complete to the work. He gave us a good report on what he found in the analysis.

Overall my experience with the company has been quite positive. They did a good cleaning of the light wood fungus in the crawlspace and did a professional installation of the dehumidifier. They were chosen from among 3 different companies after receiving quotes, and I think their quote offered me the most sensible choices. Punctuality is a slight issue with them: On the initial meeting they were an hour late, and on the subsequent installation appointment they were also a bit late, but once here they performed their work efficiently and completely. Additionally none of the punctuality issues were too inconvenient for me.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went fine. They did a good job, he came when he said he was going to be here, and everything went well. There were no additional charges. He was very friendly and he was very good at getting back to you. We had to change dates because of work I was having done at the house and he was very easy to work with and willing to accommodate schedules.

The work was scheduled in a timely manner which included a visit to review my home to determine where heat loss was occurring and areas where caulking could reduce the amount of heat that was escaping. They also inspected the attic and crawl space in my house and offered suggestions to increase the energy efficiency. They explained what would be done and the products that were going to be used. On the day the job was scheduled, the contractors were prompt in their arrival and finished the job within two hours and provided explanations on what they were doing. They encouraged me to contact them at any time regarding any issues or problems related to the work performed.
Description of Work: The provider winterized the windows and doors in my house, redistributed insulation in my attic where a previous contractor did not properly spread insulation to areas that were difficult to reach, and sealed the space between the sheet rock and brick in my garage.

That worked out fine. Bob did a good job and made great suggestions. He scheduled the job the next week after the purchase of the Big Deal. He did what he said he was supposed to. They walked around the house and through the house and looked at potential issues with the home. He then sat down and explained to us what he had done. We got before and after pictures too. He also followed up with us. I wished Angie's List would let me give them an A+.

They were on time, professional, no hassle to work with. They are up to date on the latest research studies on crawl space issues and were a real pleasure to work with. Price was less than half of another large, local, franchise HVAC company and the quality of the work received was much greater. The job was completed in about 6 hours.

I called Triangle Reconstruction to come out and give us an estimate/advice regarding some moisture problems we were having. I called them, in large part, because of all of the positive reviews they received on Angie's List. They were one of three estimates I received, and while the overall estimate was a bit higher, I based my decision to do with them because of their experience and because so many others seemed happy with work they had performed. Initially, I thought I only needed a vapor barrier, and they did, too. They outlined what they would do to help us solve some of the problems that we were experiencing inside the house - they would install the vapor barrier, remove old debris and the old vapor barrier, seal the chimney pipe which was no longer in use, and apply a an anti-mold product to all of the joists. I scheduled the work to be done and they came out the following week to do the job. While underneath the house, they quickly noticed that the back of the crawl space was flooded - the work could not be done. Eli came to talk to me and let me know that they would need to put a sump in the crawl space - it would be an additional $1000.00. I wasn't pleased by that news, of course, but I asked for pictures of the crawl and it was indeed flooded, so I understood that it needed to be done. A week later they came to install the sump and put down the barrier. Unfortunately, I was later informed that they did not have enough room to dig in order to install the pump. I was a little annoyed that there was going to be yet another change - I wondered why they hadn't measured in the first place... but, I understood that the back half of the crawl had been flooded, and so I assumed maybe they were not able to measure at that time. I was presented with a 3rd plan - install the vapor barrier, and water proof the outside of the back wall, along with the corners of the side wall, too. I asked a lot of questions about this new plan, and though Rob said it should have been more expensive, he said that he would do the work for the same price as the sump because he didn't want to change things up on me again. I appreciated this - at this point, with all the changes, I wouldn't have been able to afford much more anyway! As it turned out, they had actually already installed the vapor barrier on the day that they came out - the second visit - even though they had not yet installed the sump pump. I wasn't thrilled about this because if it had rained really hard, the crawl space could have filled with water again. When I shared my concerns with Rob, he said he would have someone do the work first thing Monday morning. I looked at the weather, and with no rain in the forecast, I agreed to this schedule. With all the changes we?d made through this process, I actually forgot about the Monday appointment and left out back gate locked. I'm sure that was pretty annoying because when Rob initially called, I told him that I didn't think I'd be able to leave work to open the gate; we would have had to reschedule, and he would have had to rearrange his schedule and the schedule of his workers. He was kind about my screw up, and in the end I was able to leave work and get home, and the work was performed that day. Rob sent pictures of all the work as it was being done. And when I didn't receive any pictures of the completed crawl space vapor barrier, he went back out to the house to take pictures. I'm claustrophobic so I was worried that without pictures, I might not be able to verify that everything had been done - I appreciated that he was so agreeable regarding going back to our house to take additional pictures. Though this wasn't an easy cut and dry job, and the price jumped by nearly $1000.00, I do feel like it was a job well done. Rob was easy to communicate with, and I appreciated that he could be contacted by email and phone, and I appreciated that he provided pictures of the work in progress, and the completed work, too.

Victor came a week later and did all of the work. He too was very professional and spent several hours working especially hard to fix my outside doors which were not squared with the doorway. He went way beyond the call of duty to make sure these doors were as tight as possible and that I was completely satisfied with the work. I can't say enough good things about how hard he worked and the job he did.
Description of Work: Winterize my home. Eli came initially for a consult to see what needed to be done and what supplies were needed. He was very professional and explained they would caulk all of my windows and weather strip my doors or do whatever was necessary to winterize my home. He answered all of my questions. This was a Angie's special deal so I knew the cost upfront and he didn't add anything to the original cost.

It went fine. They showed up on schedule and the work that they did with some reviews and feedback from me was thorough. They probably would have done a less thorough job if I had not pressed them a little bit and I pointed out a few areas where I thought that they could have a little bit more attention to details and the technician was very responsive. He understood what I was asking for and even made some trips back out to the hardware store to get the materials so that I would be happy with the work and the end result had a positive review. I ended up paying another $40 or so more than the price of the big deal but the door jambs were not included. They did the service within a couple of weeks after I purchased the big deal. They asked me to select two days for the service to have them come out and evaluate the project and select the first, second and third option. They came out on my second choice of days which was fine and they gave an estimate and asked if they could come back the following day and it did not work out. So, it was about a week and a half later but that was per my request and my schedule. Initially, I was not pleased with the way that they had done the work and when I pointed that out, they were very quick to do a better job. I would grade the end result as an A but if I had just let it go or if I had not been there to supervise, it would have been a C.

The rep arrived promptly to conduct the thermal imaging procedure, taking pictures both from the inside and outside. He did an excellent job of explaining the results, with no pressure to purchase unnecessary products. He was also clear about what was 'normal' to expect, and if it was not normal, he indicated what might be causing the problem. We then scheduled a follow-up appointment to complete the process. Today, the repairman arrived to make the improvements (different from the first). He did not appear to mind my observing his work, and at one point, added a little extra insulation behind a light switch at my request. He did an excellent job of moving any furniture to access outlets and was very efficient. There were several times where he 'went the extra mile' to ensure things were done exactly right, cutting no corners at all. (even vacuuming up slight residue!)
Description of Work: Conducted thermal imaging of the house, then discussed options to improve energy efficiency. These included installing insulation behind all outlets and switches located on exterior walls, providing an attic tent to cover the opening of the drop down stairs (inside attic so it's not visible), a door sweep attached to front door bottom edging, and caulking along a floor seam.

It went very well. Robert has a very high-tech camera that aligns the 'thermal image' beside the actual color image. So it is very easy to see the areas of the home that were scanned right along-side with the 'thermal' images. Output was given to me on a USB memory stick, although Robert said he could e-mail the file to me.
