Brian came out to look at our crawl spaces and address moisture and critter issues we have. He showed up on time, was very curtious and spent time evaluating the job. We discussed what he saw and decided to have the 2 crawl spaces encapsulated, signed the paper work and they were to start the job in 2 days. No show, no call day one, no show, no call day two, no show, finally a call mid afternoon on day 3, a Friday saying they would not be out until Monday. Left the house open for them for 3 days as we both work. Also spoke to someone at the company after Brian left on his first visit and obviously this guy did not know what Brian had agreed upon with us, poor communication, never really had a great feeling about their competentcy from the start.

My paperwork shows that we scheduled to meet you on Friday when you got back in town. We showed up on time Friday morning. This was a basement job and not a crawl space. I would never send a crew to work inside your house when you are not home. They rang the bell, no one answered the door so they left and called the office. We called and left a message we could meet you Monday. It is against our policy to enter your home when no one is home.

Work detail- Dig trench for french drain to lay in. Apply a layer of gravel to bottom of trench, lay perforated drain pipe with silt cloth around it, add more rock and cover ground level Seal vents that weren't sealed Installation of Catch Basin. Installation of Sump Pump. Installation of drain line. The job went very well. Everyone I worked with was punctual, professional, and knowledgeable. Had a heavy rain last night, checked the crawlspace this morning and found the problem area was dry. They also replaced damaged vapor barrier as a result of the flooding at no charge to me, since they originally installed it last year before the flooding appeared. The work is guaranteed for 1 year and I'm certain that if I had any future issues they would come out and quickly resolve the problem. A special thanks to Rob, Taylor, Brian, and Drew. Taylor did most of the labor and always answered any concerns I had as the job progressed. All of Rob's employees did a fantastic job, and I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to recommend them or hire them back for future work. Neal P.
Description of Work: Flooding in right corner of crawlspace, facing the front of the house. Solution was french drain and sump pump.

Triangle Reconstruction is an excellent company. We were concerned about condensation and water infiltration in our crawlspace following major rain events. After a site visit and review, Triangle Reconstruction provided a point-by-point action plan and a fair price quotation. They said they could schedule work in less than two weeks and complete the work in one to three days. They met these goals. The company's various crews and contractors worked quickly and effectively. The homeowner accompanied a company representative on a quality check through the crawlspace at the conclusion of the work. I had planned to complain to the company representative that the foundation drain crew had been a bit messy -- leaving a truck rut in the front yard, tracking mud and leaving behind small construction debris -- but was told before I brought it up that the follow-on vapor barrier crew had reported this untidiness to management (including photos they took with their cellphones) and did as best they could to clean up the job site. The company representative apologized for the untidiness. In all, the work was completed for a fair price, to acceptable quality and on time -- before the big rains of Christmas Week 2015 hit. We are happy with their work and would hire them again, if further services are needed.
Description of Work: Assessed drainage issues in crawlspace Presented detailed construction plan and estimate Dug new interior foundation drain and gravel Installed new sump, pump, electrical connection and outflow Installed joist crossbracing at the piers Sealed vents and air leaks around brick curtain wall Removed old vapor barrier Installed new vapor barrier with double layer in service corridor and pin-downs throughout Conducted after-installation quality check

We were not using our crawl space for storage as it was dusty and not very inviting as well as not temperature controlled. We also were concerned about our inside air quality. We checked around to get reviews of various companies in the area. We decided to call Triangle Reconstruction as they had the best reviews and feed back from their previous customers. Shortly after making the initial phone call, we were able to schedule an inspection as well as an estimate. We were given a thorough detailed estimate after we discussed various options including just updating the vapor barrier. We decided to go with the full crawl space encapsulation as we wanted temperature and dust control as well as usable storage space. The crew came and made short work of clearing out old shelving and junk from the space. The outside venting was closed off and insulated, walls insulated, all sources of air infiltration into the crawl space were sealed as well as a floor drain installed. Heavy white vapor barrier was secured over the entire floor area. The access door was also insulated. The crew was very professional, super friendly and more than happy to explain anything, that we asked. They did a clean up each day with super clean up on the last day. What a great team. We are very pleased with the final results. Clean, bright, humidity controlled, better air quality inside the house and finally storage space we can use. We would definitely recommend this company. Great crew to work with as well as the outcome we had needed.

The entire process took about a month. I thought this was a bit extreme. Communication could have been better. The owners name and one of the workers were the same so I didn't know who I was talking to half the time. All in all though they did an excellent job and the contractor they recommended was excellent.
Description of Work: Found a mold problem and had to clean the joists. While cleaning some of the joists started to disintegrate. They were eaten up by some bug that only comes out during the month of May. Recommended a contractor who had to replace 20 or so floor joists. They encapsulated the crawlspace and had to do the flooring twice because they encapsulated before the joists were installed.

they did a great job- no problems. I have noticed a huge difference in keep my house temperature on top floor stable. It was the tail end of winter so I did notice it in heating bills but I really noticed it in my air conditioning bill in summer. The comfort factor was noticeable in a couple of previously chilly place ( my bathroom) where the extra insulation was added. Would definitely recommended them

Brian came out and inspected crawl space and gave me an estimate to totally encapsulate my home crawl space. The coupon is for the first 500 sq feet, then they will let you know the price for the rest of the area thats not covered. I agreed to the price and made an appt for approximatley 2-3 weeks later. The first thing they did was to spray the space to kill any fungus in the space and clear out any existing insulation. The next day several workers showed up to clear out most of any debris you might have in the crawl space, and to seal all pipe and vent openings with foam insulation, and install 20mil thick liner throughout crawl space. a couple days later two workers showed up to install heating and cooling duct in crawl space.(The fungus spray and heating and cooling duct is optional, but reccommended). A couple days later another worker called to come by and inspect all final work. actually the work was inspected twice, during installation and after. I an very pleased with the outcome and all workers were very professional. I would definitely reccommend this company to friends and relatives. The only thing I would change is the initial advertisement. The $849 should be clearly defined as a discount coupon, and not the cost for the service, even though I had already figured out the total diminsions of my crawl space and new 500 sq feet would not cover everthing, there will be some people who will be surprised by the total cost. I believe the price is fair for the amount of work that was accomplished. Very happy with service.

We were real disappointed. They scheduled a time automatically. We got a automated call from them, you know, it was like a recording. So I called them and said what's up with that and they said, well, you know, we figured we could fit you in, I said that's fine, I'll be here. That wasn't very good. They came with the basic stuff but they didn't bring all of there equipment that they needed. So I got back on the phone with them and they said, well we can go so far, and I was like, no I don't want that, I want you to come do the job and that wasn't good. The kid that was working here, we needed a dehumidifier, and he was calling the guy that had the credit card and it was just one thing after another. I fired them and said, I will pay you for the work done on the vents but I'm going to find somebody else.

It was so-so. I thought it was way too expensive. They didn't take the plastic to the hole. There's no way to dry it out now. If they weren't going to do the insulation for it because of the cost, the fact that they sealed all the vents, they should've taped the plastic to the wall so the moisture couldn't get in to the crawlspace. They didn't do it the way I thought they should the first time.

I purchased this in February of 2015, and no one contacted me after that first February estimation visit. I called in May 2015 and received an apology for no one contacting me, and the work was scheduled for June 3rd 2015. Very poor communications in my opinion. If I had not called, would the company actually have followed up on my purchase to be sure I received the service? The installers did show up on the agreed date and did a very good job. The two young men had good customer service skills and apologized for being late as they had to spend more time on the previous job that caused them to be late to my appointment. I may use this vendor again in the future, but I will be very diligent regarding communications and follow up with them on scheduling and job completion.
Description of Work: The special advertised on Angie's List was $99 for crawl space vapor barrier installation. After I purchased the special, one of the company's representatives visited within 10 days (there was a snow storm to be fair about the delay) and agreed the work fit the criteria of the special being advertised. He told me that someone from the company would contact me within the next week to schedule the work. I was OK with that, however no one contacted me for over 30 days. A note for future purchasers of services - be sure you understand the criteria. Often these quotes are for very small installations (this one was for 350 square feet maximum) so check your measurements before purchasing and avoid surprises.

Very neat, detailed and comprehensive work. Not necessarily an easy job with all of the plumbing and electrical infrastructure. Only minor problem. During installation of the vapor barrier, they may have broken off the drain connector to a humidifier attached to our AC/Heating unit. However, this could have been due to the actions of other service people who have gone under our house in the last several months. THIS WAS NOT A BIG DEAL. There is a lot of moisture under our house and the vapor barrier really helps. However, it is not perfect and a complete encapsulation barrier would be ideal but not in our budget right now. I would recommend this company.

They come in and put this big plastic sheeting on the bottom of your crawl space. I had one, I just wanted to get it replaced. So he comes in and I had a bad feeling to begin with because I was like well you know, I called, when he contacted me and I was like okay do I need to be there and he was like oh no no no we're just coming out for an estimate and I was like wait a minute you're suppose to be coming out to do this deal. He was just really looking for a way to get more business. He came out and told me my crawl space needed all this other stuff which is not true, he was just trying to turn it into a $5000 job. I'm like I really need this $149 installation, I didn't want him to come out and give me a big estimate and all this other stuff. I wanted him to do what he said he was going to do and he didn't do it and he had no intentions of doing it. When he came out he didn't have any intentions to do it because he didn't have the vapor barrier with him or anything, he was just coming out to screw me. I wasn't too excited about that. I read his reviews and everybody talked about how pricey this guy is but there all happy with his work and I'm thinking, well yeah, he is just gouging people.

Response from Triangle Reconstruction
Your crawl space had 6 inches of water and was riddled with mold the day of the inspection. You need more than a vapor barrier. Part of our job is to inform and educate. You can not fix a problem like this for a few hundred dollars. I would have deserved this grade if I did the job for a few hundred dollars and made that easy money...I should not be punished for telling you the truth...I even took the time to email you and say get a second opinion because it is one the most hazardous crawl spaces I have seen in a while.

So after the crawl was all done, they sent an inspector. The inspector pulled apart some plastic and found old plastic. I didn't realize they did that and went down and found the rip. I was very upset. But they knew about it already and planned to come redo the work and remove the old plastic as promised. I inspected a lot of the crawl and didn't find any more attempts to conceal trash or old plastic. Keep in mind with any contractor regardless of angies list reviews you have to research the project, understand what is supposed to be done and observe throughout the process. Sorry but its the reality. Unfortunately, crawlspace encapsulation doesn't work very well, at least not in my old house. My hygrometer sensor shows humidity as high as 80% especially during these rainy, high humidity summer days. Short of another huge investment in a commercial grade dehumidifier, your crawl will still be humid. When it is colder outside then inside my crawl, I open the crawl door to let the moisture out which helps and place chicken wire and screen to keep out animals. On the plus side your crawl will be colder/warmer depending on the season. Mold/bacteria/mildew also need warmth to grow well, I am an operating room nurse and microbiology is important to us in the OR. We keep the OR between 68-72 degrees F for this reason and ideally 30-60% humidity. I try to keep the crawl at 68 and below to discourage microbial growth. It also discourages insect life which is a positive, I rarely see spider crickets which used to be everywhere before the encapsulation. Overall I am glad I did it for the temperature control. It also has modestly reduced my HVAC use as heat rises through the floor and into my home. A colder crawl in the summer helps prevent that.

The provider of the Big Deal, Triangle Reconstruction, never followed up with me to get the job done. Per the gentleman that visited my home, after they provided the written quote on August 19th, someone will contact me to schedule the job. Unable to get my money paid to Angie's List on August 13th because there is a 30 day window that applies to refunds, so this is a negative for me in regards to both Angie's List and Triangle Reconstruction. Will look for another Big Deal on Angie's List to use my monies paid.

Last summer, Triangle Reconstruction fixed my crawl space so it's dry and so the floors on the first floor of my house stay at the right moisture level. I was trying to get things right before installing new flooring. They did an excellent job and have been helpful to me, following up to be sure things are still ok. They made sure I knew that this was not just a one-time treatment, that they would provide support to be sure things work well. I would recommend them without reservation.
Description of Work: fixed my crawl space: sealing a back wall that had moisture penetration, treating a moldy area, fixing falling insulation, sealing vents, installing a dehumidifier, all in an attempt to make my first floor floors dry enough for new flooring and of course to protect my crawl space and house from problems caused by excessive moisture

exceptional overall, made a huge difference with air quality inside the house. My house cools down faster than before and saw immediate savings on electric bill. I can go under the house without worrying about "critters" living down there, I am now able to store items under the house in a climate controlled area. Since I don't need to use the vents I will close off under my front porch and use underneath for more storage! The staff was great fast and professional, did not pay until I was satisfied with the work.

I wanted to add this update based on some things that happened afterward. There were some difficulties after the work with the dehumidifier, and some mysterious moisture buildup. They have been so easy to work with and have handled EVERYTHING extremely well. They take pride in their work, and have gone way over and above in their service. I cannot say enough good things about these guys. It went extremely well. I was very impressed with the workers they sent. The last couple days have been brutally hot and these guys kept at it until the job was done. I purchased this based on their special price on Angieslist, and in discussing the situation with the sales person I decided to add a bit to the work. Price was reasonable enough.
