They did a good job. I think it was for around $10,000, but that might be a little high. I’ve worked with this guy before. He does incredible work. One thing I like about him is he’s very trustworthy. I would trust him with anything. Another thing I like about him is I know the job is going to be done right and he’ll do it absolutely a perfect job and if there’s a problem he fixes it. The quality is excellent. The quality of work is impeccable. You give him a call and he’s out here working on the job. He’s spot on. He’s an absolute professional. He’s been in the business for a long time. He knows how to do stuff. He can do repair work, all sorts of stuff. He’s the only person I call. When you’re getting something done on your home and there’s so many people out there trying to sell you stuff and I know this man. I’ve known him for 2 houses. This is the 2nd house that he’s worked on. He’s done remodeling projects, repair work, all sorts of stuff and I know he’s going to do a great quality job at a fair price. I had my porch, when I moved into this house, it’s a two-story house but it’s a high two story house and they had columns on the front of the house and the columns on the front of the house the builder had just used regular wood and the wood rotted and it rotted down at the bottom of the post. My house faces the sun, so it rotted the wood, and somebody came by the neighborhood door to door, and this person next door had them do work for them so I had the guys come in here and they did an okay job of repairing the thing and a year or two later the thing rotted out again. I called John and I said John, what can you do and said I’ll replace it with PVC board and he did. He put PVC board in there and it looks stunning. That’s been about six years and the stuff hasn’t moved at all. It’s absolutely the way it’s supposed to be. They’re square columns.
Description of Work: They replaced the roof.

We hired Wood Could for a specific project needed at that time, namely to replace the back deck with something suitable to our lifestyle and a graceful addition to the house. That was a project we needed sooner given the sorry state of the old builder deck. As other repair needs arise within and outside our house, we now have a go-to primary contractor we feel we can genuinely trust. If he doesn't specialize in a particular aspect of the work (such as electrical wiring or painting), he will hire and oversee the requisite sub-contractor. It's an immense relief knowing we won't have to go fishing for contractors again.
Description of Work: We learned about John Warwick's Wood Could shop through word-of-mouth advice from a trusted friend and co-worker. We'd been looking for a deck contractor for over a year and were frustrated with the flaky, boring, unprofessional responses we'd received thus far. In addition to being an outstanding craftsman, John is terrific at administering his business and doen't take on more than he can handle. He responded to all of our calls and emails promptly, throughout the entire process. He pro-actively conducted post-work inspections, grooming and cleanup on his own initiative. He showed up prepared and on time for all appointments. Upon first visiting our property, it was clear that he listened closely to our stated needs, and paid attention to our home's setting. We didn't quite know what we wanted, although we knew a lot of what we didn't want. John is very knowledgable about design constraints and building codes, and he clearly described those to us. He proposed a functional design that was interesting, unusual, practical, artful, and blended well with our house and yard in terms of scale and design. On top of that, it had a lot of built-in design features such as planters, lighting, benches and graduated steps which keeps down the clutter and the need to buy furniture and other props. I have a minimalist aesthetic so this appealed to me. The price was certainly reasonable for the product and the work that went into it. At no time did he even attempt to pressure us into signing a contract before we were fully prepared and confident. He didn't try to convince us to build a bigger deck than we needed just to escalate the price. The contract process with John was more of a feedback conversation, with both parties ready to enter the arrangement. He asked for half the payment up front for materials necessary to construct the deck, then the balance upon completion, so we had no fears of him skipping town with the work unfinished. John's workers and sub-contractors are all licensed professionals as well, and are good communicators. Our deck now provides an elegant transition from house to yard. It's a very comfortable and inviting hang-out space for us all now, dogs included. John assured quality control by following up and asking questions of us afterwards.

John has worked on our home for fifteen years now. I really felt comfortable using him as he has done big projects like kitchen and baths before. Our home is from 1920 and he is really good at visualizing what style fits. The new porch really added a great amount of curb appeal to the front of the house. We really have the greatest confidence in him and any project he does is just beautiful.
Description of Work: We had a 6 X 11 foot brick porch with a roof added on to our front door area. The steps were made of brick with some slate as an accent material.

We were pleased with the work that was done. We would say that this company did an excellent job. I thought that the workers were very polite and on time. They were very detailed and make sure that everything was done exactly the right way. They were also finished in a great amount of time.
Description of Work: They built and put siding on our 25 x 36 detached garage. We had it built so that we could use it for our extra cars. It is located next to the house and existing garage. There were no special plumbing features that were needed. Basic electrical work was done as well.

John was very polite, as well as his workers. They cleaned up after themselves every day and were very tuned into harming any trees, shrubs etc. I would definitely have them come back again for another project or refer them out.
Description of Work: Our entire back deck, 14 x 28 had to be torn down; it was 20 years old. Plus the fact it was no longer up to code. John replaced the entire deck and put an overhang on one portion of it and dropped the platform on the other half. It is now a tier deck which looks great! He was constantly overseeing the work that his people had done for the day. He did not allow for any shortchanging on the workmanship. We have had John Warwick do various projects for us over the past 15 years.
