I cannot say enough how pleased I am with the flooring repair that Scot and his brother did for us. He responded quickly to my request on Angi and was able to review the project and provide an estimate same day. He did everything he said he would from the time he arrived to the completion time. He kept the project well within our budget. I will definitely contact him again for any future flooring needs.

Tor Reinertsen did a microwave install that was reasonable. When I had a second job for him I texted and phoned. He was slow in responding but I stuck with it for about a week. He finally texted me that he would meet one evening to go over job. He never contacted me. It wasted a lot of my time. They need to give the courtesy that they are not available.

We contracted Ernie Reinertsen to install red oak hardwoods in our home in July 2012. I should have trusted my initial impressions, as he was unkempt; however, he had done a refinishing job for us eight years ago when moved into our home and it came out great. Unfortunately, this experience was significantly different. To begin, we have a concrete slab so we researched which method to utilize floating layers of plywood or the sleeper system. When asking Ernie what his thoughts were, he noted the sleeper system because it's "always" worked out for him. So, we trusted him and he ordered the hardwoods. As you may already know, hardwood installation is a time-consuming process. It requires the wood to acclimate to the heating/cooling system for at least a week. Being the naive homeowners that we were (at the time), the hardwoods arrived on a Monday and installation began on Tuesday. BAD IDEA! Back to the installation, sleepers were installed about 12 inches apart and he's the kicker...the hardwoods were laid DIRECTLY on top of the sleepers. Within 24 hours of installation, the hardwoods were cupping DRASTICALLY. I asked Ernie about this and I quote, he responded, "it comes and goes with the season." What a crock of you know what. Accepting this at the time, though, but still concerned, Ernie continued onto the staining/poly process. During this phase, he left a TON of air bubbles/dirt/debris/hair/you name it in the finish to the point where I sought out another professional to finish the hardwood correctly. In the process of obtaining quotes, I kept hearing the same initial reaction.."Why are your floors cupping?" SO...I hired a NWFA flooring inspector and sure as can be, the entire process was done wrong - front start to finish - not to mention the poor finish job that I was initially concerned about. So, we asked him to return our money since the floor need to be torn up and reinstalled correctly. He did not and told us to never contact him again. Needless to say, we're pursuing him via the court system and hope he responds as a professional and returns our money so we can move forward with the new PROPER hardwood installation when working with a concrete slab. I'll keep you posted once things get squared away. Homeowners beware! Costs: - $3,000 paid to Ernie - $1,000 for NWFA inspection report - $1,000 for removal of hardwood floor installation by Ernie Reinertsen Total Cost: $5,000 + HOURS of Time trying to make the situation right. Update: 12/6/12 Upon perusing small-claims court and winning a judgement against Ernie's company, Ernie has since settled the amount due to us : $3K per the judge.
