+ 2 moreJoe Bass, the owner , is a straight up guy. He told us what the schedule would be and made it happen. No delays, done on time, done properly. His subs were professional and polite. We also received tax credits for the doors for our 2013 taxes, and Two Guys sent us the information for the rebates without prompting at the beginning of January. Joe is always very accessible via his cell phone and is prompt about returning calls and getting questions answered. We've used My Guys several times and have always been happy with their work. Good guys who do good work.
Description of Work: The provider replaced several windows and relocated and replaced a patio door from one wall to the other. He re-trimmed all areas and patched vinyl siding that was impacted.

+ -1 moreWe met Sean and Joe at a home improvement show. We started talking about vinyl siding but then they suggested Hardiplank. They came and checked everything out. They were very proactive. Their office manager Judy even brought papers over to our house to sign. They tried to make the whole experience as less stressful as possible. The three-man team that came to do the work were terrific. We felt very comfortable with them. They had access to our house while we were at work. It was really hot out so we wanted them to be able to come into the house, cool off, have lunch, etc.. They cleaned up outside every single day. They even made minor repairs to stuff outside of the house that we didn't even ask them to do. At the end of the job, Joe did a walk around and noticed some things that needed to be tweaked a bit and everything was fixed. My husband and I can't say enough about My Guys. They were terrific.
Description of Work: Remove old Masonite siding, put up protective shield, and put on new factory-painted Hardiplank. Also put on new gutters.

I did not want to have to contract an additional professional to pain the necessary area. They came out to provide the estimate. They were friendly and responsive. They did not want to do the painting and their estimate was more than double that of another Angie's List company.

+ 1 moreMy Guys did finished an entire 800 square foot bonus room that was wasted attic space to include a full bathroom, knee wall storage and all electrical and plumbing. We also had them install seamless gutters and all new windows on our house as part of the project. Their attention to detail is impeccable. Any concerns were addressed promptly and every effort was taken to stay within or under budget without compromising quality. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for home improvement work.

+ -1 moreShawn Sell came on time to provide replacement window information and options for types of windows, colors, quality and brought a brochure which answered other questions. He was very personable and had a lot of knowledge about construction and replacement windows for our 1965 house. His estimate was right in the target area of other companies we consulted with, and he had a nice product as well as some good discounts. It was a tough decision, but we went with another company after discovering a trusted friend had used them. If we are in the market for other home projects after the windows, we will surely put My Guys on the list.

+ -1 moreI contacted several window replacement companies that are highly rated on Angie's List. Two of those companies offered high quality windows, were friendly and informative but I decided on My Guys Remodeling because I could save money with Angie's List Big Deal promotion. I found Shawn, co-owner, to be very professional and took the time to answer my many questions. He was easy to contact and always replied quickly. It was amazing to watch his crew remove the old windows and install the new windows with efficiency and skill. When the job was completed, they made sure not only was I was satisfied but that it stood up to their high standards. As an example, I noticed a small hole in a screen and Shawn made sure I had a new screen in a few days. I've waited six months before writing this review to evaluate the windows and I still love them! They insulate my home from outside noise, the heat of summer and now the chill of winter. The windows have a lifetime warranty for everything, even glass breakage! I would not hesitate to have My Guys Remodeling work on future projects or recommend them to others.

+ -1 moreEverything went very well. From our first meeting to the final installation, they were very professional and punctual. They were able to finish all installation in one day! Our cost was a little more because of the lead paint situation. The EPA requires specific procedures for window removal if there is the possibility of lead paint and not all window replacement companies choose to deal with this. My Guys was very clean as well. No dust inside and no random debris outside. Very satisfied with the final results!! Would highly recommend!
Description of Work: Removed old windows and storm windows in a "lead paint" house built in 1948. Installed new 3 pane windows with full screens. 10 windows total.

+ -1 moreWe met with Shawn from My Guys and were immediately impressed with his knowledge, professionalism and quality of character. He recommended ProVia doors. After getting some quotes for other named-brand windows and doors, I did a lot of research online that brought be back to Shawn. ProVia are the best and that's what we wanted. We were willing to spend more to not have to replace these things (three window-panel doors and a solid steel door) in another ten years (which we would have had to do with the other brands). Shawn's craftsmen are superb. On time, professional and their work is PERFECT. Everything is sealed, clean and perfectly straight. We watch a lot of Mike Holmes on HGTV and were really paranoid about getting someone in who was going to do shoddy work. The My Guys guys are so good - I will probably never use anyone else for any of our large home projects. There aren't enough stars (5 certainly doesn't seem like enough) to give to My Guys. Shawn, Joe and Larry are wonderful to work with, they know their business and they know their products. They're all awesome. Can't wait to save the money to replace all the windows and start our bathroom renovation.

+ -1 moreCouldn't be happier. My Guys was incredibly helpful, answered all of our questions, were great to work with from start to finish. They worked with us on getting the best option at the most affordable price. Came by and personally inspected the job at the end of the day to make sure it was all done well. We had a large picture window that needed replaced and there was some work that needed done with the woodwork around the inside and outside. They had to go buy wood, adjust the placement, do quite a bit of extra work at very little extra cost to us and it looked great.
Description of Work: Put in new windows. We had old wood windows that a previous owner had painted so they didn't really open. We basically had no idea what we were getting in to with getting new windows, set up appointments with several companies to decide. Answered all of our questions, were willing to work with us. They do windows but are also a general contractor so that made us feel a lot better if something did go wrong, they could fix it.

Unless you want to waste your time with someone who never bothers to send an estimate (guess it is a job they apparently want to do), I wouldn't call him.

+ -1 moreIt all went well. Shaun was the initial contact and follow up person. He is very personable and instills confidence in his company and workmanship. Then his crew came out to do the actual installation. They had to do a little repair work after removing the old doors and they did a good job. When it the job was completed Shaun returned to see if the installation was done properly and to my satisfaction which it was. The only issue was that the handle on the doors was not the exact one I ordered. It was actually somewhat awkward and uncomfortable for me to use. He will return soon to install the one I requested.

+ 0 moreThe initial contact was to measure the door opening and then they placed the order and told us it would be several weeks before the door came in. When the door did come in they contacted us again to arrange a time/day to install it. They arrived when they said they would and did a good job not only installing the door but replacing the rotted joists for a reasonable cost. They cleaned everything up when they were finished and took away the old door. We are very pleased with our new sliding glass door and were happy with everything that the workman from My Guys did.
Description of Work: The My Guys rep came and measured our door and put it on order. They came back when they said they would to install the new door. They also had to replace some rotted joists on the deck that added $185 to the price. This is something we had an idea would be necessary so it wasn't a surprise to us.

The workmen they hire are all very high quality. We had to to a TOTAL demolition and reconstruction down to the floor joists and studs. New plumbing, electric, cabinets, countertops, flooring. It turned out stunningly beautiful and to this day still causes guests to marvel and its beauty.

For two years I had been talking to and getting estimates from contractors for my remodel project. i was attending home shows, talking to neighbors, checking online referrals. Because of the scope of the work there were a lot of details that needed attended to. From the beginning I felt that Mr Joe Bass understood what I wanted, what needed to be done and would do nothing but quality work. So I decided to go with him and I am so glad I did!!! Due to a family emergency I was unable to be present for most of the construction. Joe called me every morning and advised me what to expect for the day. All his employees were punctual, did quality work and handled any problems that came up. There was always great communication on any questions I had. Truly professional. Joe did regular walk throughs inspecting everything, down to the smallest detail. All unexpected issues that came up were immediately dealt with to my satisfaction. The end result turned out to be a top notch, quality job. Everything meeting or exceeding all my expectations. I would recommend My Guys Remodeling to anyone. I look forward to having them return for my project-phase two. Thanks guys!!! You were great!!!!

Remove old siding on the whole backside of my house and replace with Hardy Board Siding. + -1 moreOverall my experience was wonderful. My Guys offered alternatives to help make the choice to replace windows an affordable and do-able one. They offered 100% financing and even suggested doing the windows one at a time if needed. They performed quality work and when I found one imperfection and pointed it out, Shawn had already seen it and one more and corrected it. They showed up as planned, finished as planned, cleaned up and left everything as they found it. Shawn personally oversaw the work his guys did and I even got to meet Joe the other partner in the business. They really took care of every little detail. Shawn even went above and beyond, helping me hang my blinds and my shower curtain rod. Once my new windows were installed I immediately noticed the rooms in the house no longer passed heat through from outside to inside(when its warm outside). The double pane glass and Argon gas inside work to maximize energy efficiency. My new windows are beautiful, highly functional and certainly add value to my home. Thanks for an outstanding experience My Guys Remodeling!
Description of Work: My Guys Remodeling replaced all the windows on my home, which was built in 1991. The old windows were very inefficient in retaining heat in winter and keeping out heat in the summer. This was due to the windows not providing a proper seal. My Guys Remodeling came out and demonstrated their product for me, as did 3 other vendors. Mostly the windows were similar, but one thing that set their windows apart was a 3 time transferrable warranty. They also met the price of their closest competitor in order to win my business. I selected My Guys, mostly due to the personality of the owner, Shawn Sell. I had met him a few years ago and remembered him stopping by a while back. He has a very professional and courteous personality and he was proactive about the whole experience. He was a joy to work with! His guys made me feel secure about opening my home up to let them come in and work on the window installation. I would highly recommend their services to anyone looking to get new windows.

Joe came on time, brought a sample of the type I wanted used, went into great detail, measured several times to make sure all was correct, gave an estimate and a few days later I scheduled a time for the replacement. One of the windows I needed replaced was a casement crank out type over my kitchen sink. The double panes were not sealed and held moisture year round. Also that window did not have a screen, and no place to install one. I had contacted a couple of other businesses and both of them said there was nothing they could do about the kitchen window since is was not a standard size. Joe and his team replaced that window with a 3 pane slide with a screen as well as installing the double hung windows in the house. Now I can open the kitchen window in good weather, and no moisture between the panes. The team was on time, very professional and finished the work in the estimated time. It was a VERY cold day so Joe sent an extra crew member in order to finish as quickly as possible and the house would not be cold any longer than necessary. The guys even cleaned up inside and out and washed the windows before they left. I couldn't be happier!

He was very professional and personable. Everything went very smoothly the day the windows were installed and Joe took the time to show me all the neat little features on the windows when they were in place. The windows are beautiful and match the house perfectly. We could not be happier!

+ 1 moreAs with any project, there are unexpected issues that arise. But, Shawn being Shawn, his concern for his customer and their satisfaction was his main priority. Not only did he want the job done well, he wanted his customer happy. That is what I liked most. I knew that Shawn was "on my side" and it made all of the difference for me. There were a few issues that arose, but in the end, they were ALL made right. For example, after installation of the windows, there were a few windows that had some minor problems with the sashes. Shawn had the execs from the window-maker come to my home to inspect them. They were removed and replaced! Overall, My Guys Remodeling gets an A+. Additionally, since completion of the job, I have called on Shawn for advice about other issues or needs with my home and he has advised me with good counsel. I would recommend them to anyone who needs and wants top-notch service and workmanship!
Description of Work: I contacted My Guys Remodeling to obtain an estimate on window replacement for my home. Shawn Sell responded immediately and came out and discussed my options and pricing. I obtained several other estimates and chose Shawn and My Guys Remodeling based on just a good, overall feeling from the beginning. Shawn was honest, friendly and down to earth, yet professional. I could sense immediately that he put a lot of pride in his work, and would not finish the job until he AND his customer was 100% satisfied. That was my iniatial impression and it played out exactly that way throughout my experience with the work done. Shawn and his crew were excellent. They were puntual and communicated very well with me with both expected and unexpected findings from start to finish. If a problem came up, it was addressed and taken care of (to MY satisfaction), without question, and I have high standards! Their workmanship was exceptional. I ended up having 22 Vytex Potomac HP windows installed and couldn't be more pleased. The windows have made a huge difference in the comfort of my home. It is tight and much more quiet. And they have a beautiful curb appeal. In addition to replacing the windows, My Guys removed rotten Masonite siding and replaced with Hardi-plank, and some trim work as well. Also, I had all of my gutters replaced and leafpoof gutter guards installed. I couldn't be happier with the finished product and the great experience I had with Shawn and his crew.
