Market Ready Painting

After reading all the reviews that Market Ready Painting has, I am sad and a bit confused as to why we didn't receive the same service. What we received was poor quality painting and poor customer service. For starters, Danny was never on time. He would tell me a time when he would be here and then wouldn't show up at that time. Some times he would tell me he would be late, other times I had to contact him. Secondly, we are in a pandemic, he and his guys didn't show up with masks, didn't ask if they should wear them and had no problem walking through our house with their work boots on and left our living room floor a mess each day. And lastly, after 3 days of priming and painting, we’re left with more issues then we ever imagined. There are drips that weren't sanded, nail holes that weren't filled, parts that weren't painted at all, hairs painted into the wood, a shelf that only had just primer on it, a shelf that looked like it was stepped on and our fireplace switches were painted over. But what was the icing on the cake was when we told Danny about these issues over the phone. He asked if we were happy with the job. I honestly, didn't realize they were “done” because of all the mistakes. Shocked, I said this doesn't look like a professional paint job. Instead of taking our concerns and frustrations into account, he came over the next day to look at them, spent a minute here and said I will bring you a can of paint and you can do it yourself. We do not recommend Market Ready painting. I’ve never experienced working with a company that could care less about the quality of their work and their customers.

I cannot recommend using Market Ready Painting as our experience with them turned into a nightmare. It started out better than we could have expected as they committed to painting our entire house with short notice and days before Christmas. While they were not the cheapest, they were not the most expensive either. The house was supposed to be painted with two coats of paint using Eggshell finish paint. The painting crew arrived at the home on time and completed the job in roughly one day as they had communicated. When we looked at the paint we could still see the previous paint color coming through paint and the paint used was a matte finish and not the Eggshell paint that we had picked out and paid for. There were also areas all throughout the home where the brush strokes were evident or areas had been missed. We contacted Market ready and notified them that only one coat had been put on and that the wrong paint had been used to paint the home. The paint crew came back out for a second time to repaint the entire house. Again the crew arrived on time in the morning to the start the job and completed everything in less than a day. This time however there were even more areas throughout the home that had been missed. Large sections above the cabinets, corners of the room or hallway, and areas around the sink and toilet still showed the previous paint color. Throughout the house there was paint on the trim and the baseboards. It was evident areas that had been missed because the wrong paint color had been used. Instead of the slightly lighter color that had been used for the first paint job, a darker version of our paint had been used, so every missed spot showed through that much more. Pictures of the errors were sent on more than one occasion to point out the items that needed to be addressed. After not receiving any corrective action to make the situation right, we were forced to repaint the house for a third time using a different company. This time the paint contractor used the right paint, taped off the entire house to ensure no paint would get on the trim, and sanded down all of the brush marks from the previous jobs to make sure we had a clean professional finish to our home. All of these actions should have been done in the first place to prevent this headache from happening. I would suggest looking in another direction if you are considering using Market Ready Painting based on our experience.

It was not a good experience. To be fair we have used Danny once before and for the quality of work versus the price we were pleased with our previous experience hence we decided to use him again. I'll first discuss timing. In the previous experience and now Danny way under estimates the time required. If you use him I suggest you add at minimum two days to the job based on the timing estimate he gives you. Also his communication regarding arrival time and wrap up could use improvement. It's quite difficult to plan because showing up on time is difficult for him and his crew. This is especially hard as the homeowner if you both work full time. I'll also mention, and perhaps this is common for other people, that Danny does not expect you to be present during the work in your home. In general my husband and I are not comfortable leaving anyone alone in our home so when discussing time I encourage you be very explicit about hours of work and how long so you can plan accordingly to be home. Also, you have to be very, very, very explicit in details with Danny. For example, the first job did not include paint in the quote or that we had to provide it. And if you would like for him to purchase the paint you have to be explicit in the brand and type as well- we prefer Sherwin Williams and saw he had purchased a Lowes grade paint for trim, not our preference. Now let's get into the job, not one time did I see a drop clothe being utilized while they were here- not once. I'll mention I'm sitting in the middle of a room I've been cleaning all day scraping up paint with my nails and a razor blade as I write this review. I'll also mention they do not clean up after them selves. I'll attach pictures below. In both bathrooms we have walk paint on the trim and trim paint on the wall and wall paint on the ceiling. We also never saw a caulk gun while they were here. We asked Danny back twice to fix their work and after the second trip decided it was time to part ways and complete the work ourselves. I can genuinely continue to write for sometime in our experience. As a result of the lack of quality and mess created we are now a week late posting our home for sale. Also, the care for personal items is lacking. I found a Sheetz coffee cup from one of the crew members on our antique sewing machine. Come on guys it's a family heirloom and you have zero care or concern. I have to wrap this up so I can get back to cleaning I just urge you to consider others before hiring Danny. I'll mention the overall quality was not what we were hoping for, I'll let the photos speak for themselves in this regard.

Danny communicated very well. He is very considerate of our needs and wants. They showed up on time. Completed the work quickly without any mess. Highly qualified and I will recommend Danny.

They were very responsive, extremely professional, punctuate and did the job better than expected within the estimated timeframe.

Everything was PERFECT. Danny made sure everything was to my liking. My schedule changed during the job and he brought in extra workers to finish as I was leaving town and he wanted me to be happy. He worked around my changing schedule.
