Grand Openings Garage Door

Mike arrived on time and pleasantly and efficiently completely serviced the garage door as contracted. He ponted out a couple of small issues that may require attention in the future but not now. When future service is required, I will again use Mike's service.

Mike was great and happy to schedule a Thursday appointment when I contacted him on Monday. He arrived on time and was very polite. He asked me questions about the door and its performance and really analyzed the problem rather than just doing the work I had called him about. He fixed everything on the door, short of entirely replacing it. The electric eye adjustment was one of the services that he performed above and beyond what I had asked for, and was even willing to come back and look at it if I continued to have trouble.

This was an advertised Garage Door tune up offered on Angie's List. We were overdue for a tune up and signed up for this service. Our garage door was noisy, out of balance and in desparate need of some TLC which Mike Ropelewski of Grand Openings Garage Door provided in spades! Mike was on time, professional and spent a lot of time tuning up our door. Our door is now so much more quiet and performs flawlessly. We will gladly reccommend Grand Openings Garage Door and Mike R. to anyone who will listen. Let me also mention that I am very pleased to report that my wife felt extremely comfortable while Mike was in our garage working on the door. Mike was there for about an hour and a half, continuously working away without a break. Unlike some other service personnel who come to do more talking than working. Good Job Mike! From start to finish, this company's service experience was amazing. Originally, I had scheduled 3 companies to come to our home to give us an estimate on what it would cost to replace or repair our garage door and opener. Mike (Grand Openings) happened to be the first available company to come out and give us an estimate. Boy, am I glad he was! Mike arrived actually a little ahead of the appointment time.He is extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. As I own some rental properties I have dealt with many contractors over the years. I was totally impressed and will definitely call him again for future needs.

The garage door at our new home made very loud noises when opening and closing. Mike replaced rollers and gave the door a tune up so that now the door works easily and with minimal appropriate noise. He adjusted the tension and made sure the electric eyes and emergency stop features were working properly. Mike was very knowledgeable and personable. The work was done quickly and the fee was very reasonable.

Mike and I had a few phone calls to schedule a time as Carrboro was a little far for him we tried to accommodate each other by choosing a day I was off work and he was in the Chapel Hill area. He arrived right on time and was finished in about an hour. He had to adjust the garage track a little to get the best fit and closure of the door and he did not charge me anything additional for that. He replaced all the steel rollers with nylon ones and the garage door is so much quieter when it closes, you can hardly hear it as it rolls up and down now. I am glad for this garage door tune up and wish I had done it earlier.

Service was great & WELL worth it. He even took a quick look @ the other door while he was here. Will definitely use him in the future & highly recommend him.

I do not care to detail the problems or the exact experience, but you cannot go wrong with the service that this firm provides. And I assume that all service performed is of the caliber of the service that I received,,,great!

He was very nice, fair, knowledgeable, and I felt that I had the best solution to my specific problem.

My wife and I could not be happier. Every time we would clean up the driveway after mowing the grass, the blower would send grass clippings into the garage because of the brittle insulation strip. Now that Mike has replaced it, Nothing gets past it, not even water. And the new, nylon wheels make the garage door so much quieter. We are so happy with the work that Mike did, and would unconditionally recommend him to anyone who has a garage door over ten years old. Normally you would not think that a garage door required periodic maintenance, but the difference -- before and after -- was quite amazing.

Told me he'd be at my place at 3:00pm, my doorbell rang at 3:01p. Opened the garage door let him in he took a quick look and got straight to work. Checked on him about 20 minutes later and he was almost done. Door is MUCH quieter than it was, the wheels roll on the track better and the screw drive on my garage door opener is probably 80% quieter. He informed me that the spring on my garage was probably going to go (it is 11 years old never been serviced) but that there is no need to replace it at this time. I appreciate his telling me and NOT pressuring me to by a new spring today - that being said - when it is time to replace the spring, I'll be calling him to take care of it for me. Ended up talking with Michael for about 20 minutes after he is done and it is apparent to me that he takes his work very personally and wants to do right by his customers. As a small business owner myself, I appreciate his level of pride and will certainly use him again in the future and more importantly, I'll recommend him to friends/family and anyone else I hear who needs their garage door repaired!!

One of the springs broke on our garage door. Another company came out and helped us get out cars out. However, they gave an estimate of 678 to replace both springs because they were heavy duty and had to be specially made. They also seemed more interested in selling us new doors. So, we called Grand Openings Garage Door. Mike came and and gave us a quote which did include a custom spring that had to be specially made. He did not think we needed new doors. He came the next day on time and did the repair. He was punctual and pleasant. He cleaned up his own mess.

Mike was a delight to contact by phone and pleasant from start to finish. This garage door has been a problem for the 5 years I have lived in this house. Mike completed the work for the special, adjusted the springs and tracks and I have not had any further problems. Mike indicated the mechanism used for this door is old, recommended a different type of mechanism when the time comes, but did not try to sell additional services. I recommend Mike and will call him for all my garage door needs. Love him and was such a gem to find on AngiesList!

Mike showed up on time for an estimate and quickly diagnosed the problems causing the door not to function properly. We scheduled a time to him to complete the work that fit into my schedule. He was again right on time, very attentive to detail and professional.I would highly recommend him.

I initially contacted Mike to replace a broken spring a week ago, he came in and replaced the spring ($150). I also asked him to install a new belt driven garage door operator (bought retail from Sears) and the rollers on my garage door ($140). He did a really fine job and I am now enjoying a more quiet experience in using the garage door thanks to him.

I had an issue with the installation of my garage door opener by the builder when the house was new. The service man from 'Garage Door Specialist' helped me determine the best solution and then assisted me with implementing the solution. I would definitely use this company again.

They were good. The owner, Mike Ropelewski, did a great job. They were very responsive in terms of time. It was a really high quality job, so we were happy with him.

Service included replacing all the rollers on the garage door and a full service "Garage Door Tune-up", which included tightning fasteners, lubricating all the hinges and moving parts, door spring inspection and check on the tension plus lubrication and adjust of the the opener. Mike was on time and did a very professional job. I will be happy to recommend and use his service again.

Technician was friendly and courteous from the start. I was impressed that he swept up all the dust he generated. He was very knowledgable about the "workings" of the garage doors. As we were talking I pointed out some other concerns. He did not try to pressure me into spending any more money.

The project went very well - Mike arrived on time, and 3-4 hours later everything was operating as intended. He was more than willing to stop by later when in the area for no charge if something needed adjusting.

Mike came exactly when he said he would and started to work immediately, One hour later I had a garage door opener that has never worked as well as it does now. Mike went well beyond the agreed upon job and didn't leave until everything was working perfectly. The guy is knowledgeable, efficient and above all, honest. You can't go wrong with this company!
