Economy Exterminators

The customer service of Economy Exterminators was fine. Economy Exterminators were very responsive and they did a good job puting the plasting barrier down and the dehumidifiers were fine. I have been a little pleased with their customer service following the inital work that they did. When they were puting it in, I asked what kind of follow up the did in terms of making sure that the dehumidifiers were working and I was told that the office would contact me about setting up a contract if I was interested in that and I was, depending on what the cost would be but I never heard anything from them. I called them and said that this is what I was told that someone would come out and make sure that it was still making sure and they didn't think I had much idea about what I was talking about, but somebody did come out and he looked at things and said yes everything was okay and I said something to him about evaluation and maintenance and I believe he said he wasn't familiar with that and he would go to the office and ask them to contact me about it and I have never heard from the. I have not been persistent about following up because I am just not sure about them anymore. The first guy who came out was extremely professional and friendly, but he was the salesman. The guy who came to fix everything was also professional and personable and did his job and he told me various things about the system and how to check that the cord hadn't cut off or anything and at that step I thought everything was fine, but after that it all just dropped somewhere. Initially the responses were great but after that the follow throughs were just not there.

Economy Exterminators were great. They were very helpful, very professional and very thorough. They did what I asked them to do and they did that quite well.

It went fantastic. Very thorough, took time to explain everything they were doing. They explained that the products they were using would not harm the children or pets.

Not good, but they evenually got rid of the fleas

Overall it was great. I went ahead and purchased another offer immediately for another property so I am very pleased and would use them again.

Along with them giving us some advice, closing some holes, and putting some traps out, it did clear our mice problem.

Performed repairs related to a home inspection to reduce moisture issues in a crawl space foundation. They performed the work quickly in a few hours and left the site clean; the moisture barrier was installed very well with good overlap and folding around posts.

My wife and I had noticed a few bugs in our house that may have been Winged Termites. Based on the other reviews listed for Economy Exterminators, I contacted them about having somebody come out to inspect the house. I called on the morning of the 2nd and they were able to schedule somebody to come out and inspect the house later that day, so the same day service was definitely a bonus. Jim arrived on time and inspected several areas of my home including the basement, main floor, and the exterior. He didn't find any evidence of termites and told me that didn't necessarily rule out that termites were still not in the walls of the house. He explained the preventive treatment process for termites. I also asked him for information about their standard pest treatment service and he provided that pricing information to me. I was very pleased with the entire process of the contacting Economy Exterminators. At this time we will probably not need to utilize their service, but if any of the bugs show up again, I will certainly put a call back into Economy Exterminators.

We had just moved into this house and were having issues with cockroaches. Being new to the area and not knowing who did a good job or who did a bad job, we turned to Angie's List and chose Economy Exterminators. They came out and knew right away what the problem was. They sprayed the house and then did a through examination of the whole house and explained that if we still had issue to call them and they would come out again. A week later I had to call them and have them come out again and they were there the next day to spray again. They then called a couple days later to follow up and see if we were having any more problems. Being new to the area I did not expect someone to go out of there way the way the employees from Economy Exterminators did. It was wonderful dealing with them.

Economy was professional from the very first contact I had with them to schedule the appointment all the way through to their first visit to perform the services I purchased on Angie's List. They inspected my home to address the issues that I was concerned with and then dealt with those concerns. I was so pleased with their service that I asked them to return periodically.

I signed up for the bi-monthly treatment service plan. During the first couple of months after we moved in, we had problems with spiders and continued to see them after the first treatment. When I called in, they were more than willing to send someone back out to treat again. Thank you very much!

Exterminator arrived 15 minutes ahead of schedule which isn't great when you have an 8AM appt time. My husband did not like the exterminator's attitude but the services rendered were good.

They are good. I have used them for awhile now. I'm satisfied with the work they did.

I wasn't at all satisfied with the service: I had specifically asked for help blocking holes that squirrels were using to get in the attic, which I would have thought would count as part of a "rodent elimination service," but they clearly didn't want to stay more than 30 or 40 minutes. I could have easily put out glueboards or mousetraps myself and saved that $99. Plus they said they'd come back and perform a recheck in a couple of weeks, and they never did.

I had the exterminator treat the house I just purchased on 23 Oct 2012. Bobby, the tech that did all of the actual spraying was very thorough and professional. He covered the house from top to bottom, from the crawl space under the house to the attic. Even gave me some advice about the type of insects in the local area. I would definitely use this service again; for the money it can't be beat.

Everything went very smoothly. They came when they were supposed, did what they said they would do and left instructions for when we returned to the house.

They emailed me almost immediately after my query, and asked me to call them at my convenience for further info, which I did, and left a voice mail. Got a response by email asking how high up the bees' nest is, because that would determine if they could help me. I responded that it is at least 2 stories high, and they said they were unable to treat something that high. Everyone I spoke to was pleasant and professional. The reason I wouldn't hire them in future is that I can get the same service, I'm sure, from an outfit closer to where I live (N.Durham) - they'e in Apex.

Great service! The technician gave us excellent information about the state of our crawl space in our home. They were punctual and professional. We will use them again.

They arrived on time and got to work as soon as we had discussed the service we needed. They asked several questions about any problems we had with specific bugs and went over how they were going to treat the house. One guy did the free termite inspection and after he told me that we had no damage he explained in detail (photos included) what one might see on the outside of the house if there was any activity. The other guy sprayed the house and answered a couple of questions I had. When I mentioned that we had found a bat flying around inside our house on two separate occasions, they both took the time to look inside and outside the house for any area that might be an entry point for the bats. Both men were professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. I would definitely recommend this company and will be using them again myself!

Both technicians were very thorough and professional. Went over all they found and explained what needed correcting. Will definately use them again.

They were on time, professional and courteous. I expected one person but two showed up. One took the lead and listened to my explanation of the situation and the other went about inspecting the crawl space. After getting the results of the crawl space inspection that person then left while the other stayed to complete the indoor inspection. He set traps and bait stations and fully explained the details to me. I was satisfied with their knowledge and explanation and they left a couple of extra traps for me to place where I thought it may be useful. We have not had any problems arise since they left and I did see one mouse in a trap they left in the crawl space. Overall, I was very satisfied and I would use them again.

Horribly - see above ***UPDATE as of 9/20/2012: The owner (John) got in touch with me the next day after garunteed written this negative review. He personally garunteed that he would take care of the problem and refunded 14 months of payment to me. He also said that I didn't have to pay again until I was completely satisfied. He's been totally diligent and great about checking in with me and has really gone out of his way to try to make this a better situation. He's also given me a different monthly technician.***

We had used this company for some 10 years for "free" (as advertised by them) termite inspections, so around June of 2010 I contacted them again for another inspection. No one answered, so I left a message on their machine. No call was returned. I called again a few days later, and was told that the owner (Mr. Canning, I believe) wanted to talk to me. When he came to the phone, he informed me that since I had never bought any of his products for the last 10 years that I was not entitled to further free inspections from Economy Exterminators! I told him that he had always advertised (and still does!) free inspections, with no exclusions indicated, and that his company had never mentioned any time limit. His comment was that I would receive no further inspections, period! His technicians always seemed to do a good job, but the real question is why should I pay for expensive termite products if there has been NO evidence of damage each year for 10 consecutive years? Yes, I know, the problem can arrive at any time, but I inspect my home regularly and I'm positive that I would be able to detect their appearance before too much damage occurred. This company STILL advertises, in Angies List and probably in other publications, "Free Inspections" (see proof for yourself on their website). And I do not see how he could have obtained a "Super Service" A award. I would not use this company again under any circumstances; I do not do business with bad management. At the very least, Mr. Canning needs to be honest in his ads. Dr. Charles Braunhardt.

This year, I had wanted to get a contract for service every few months since the ants and other insects seem much worse this year. However, I was not comfortable with how Economy Exterminators would allow me to pay for such a contract. The salesman told me that instead of sending me a bill with each service, they required that I either allow automatic payments from my bank account or allow automatic charges to a credit card. I was not comfortable giving them such access so I got a one time application when they came and have changed to a contract with another company which bills me at the time of service.
